Nevertheless, we felt APL deserved our review anyway. Here is why: First, the company's communications with us were excellent. Our initial meeting was scheduled at our convenience. They were also very clear in identifying and explaining certain limitations regarding our project- a strong indication our general project plan was not just read, but studied in advance of our meeting. Our project was a complete front and back yard redo (including building planters and installing hardscape). I met with Steve, a very personable and knowledgeable individual. I was very impressed with his candor and honesty. He explained to me what his company's licensing authorized them to do and some things about our project that were beyond the scope of their licensing. Imagine, an honest contractor! I respected Steve's candor and integrity for disclosing that during our meeting. It signaled what we could expect in the quality of the work (had we hired APL). I felt APL had our best interests in mind in laying out its capabilities to make our yard dreams come true. I am keeping APL in my contacts for future reference. Reach out to them. I liked that their guys didn't rush but moved methodically/systematically make sure to grade it perfectly, carefully lay out the bricks based on color, and even helped me move my pergola off of the old patio. I really liked that theyre locensed, bonded, and insured and their guys are American citizens (as opposed to borderline slave labor recruited from a Home Depot parking lot - I've been in construction for 25+ years so I know the chasm in quality between the two). They showed up on time and got done what they said they'd get done. I didnt have to deal with the "no-call, no-show" only to show up days later as if nothing happened (as the Home Depot parking lot demographic are notorious for doing). First, I appreciate that Selvin was quick to respond and great with communication. He came out by the next day to give me a quote on servicing the property. Since the property hadn't been serviced in six weeks while we waited for our previous gardener to hopefully recover, he also had to perform a one-time cleanup given all the growth that happened and the debris that had accumulated. Very easy to schedule (all done via Yelp messaging) Just note they do not accept Credit Card (seems a lot of businesses don't now and days) So keep that in mind before booking their services. Gave me a time time when they would be there and showed up right on time (within the range) PGS has a crew of 3 total and they worked fast (for the amount of work they needed to do) The job still took them about 4-5 hours and they took care of everything (including any trash) When they're done, a lot of photos were taken (since I wasn't on-site at the time) Very happy with their service and the price was great for what they had to do. He said he would be there the very next morning; however, he never showed up. He then called and said he would come the following morning--and again, never showed up. At that point, my husband Tom submitted a quote request on Yelp, and Mizrain was one of the first to respond. He was also the most prompt and thorough when answering our questions. Mizrain provided a very competitive quote and was able to come out the same day to trim our tree. He arrived on time, immediately greeted me with a handshake, and provided his business card before getting right to work. He and his team took their time while working very efficiently. They were extremely careful to ensure that no branches fell on or damaged the house and frequently stepped back to assess the tree as a whole to make sure it looked balanced after trimming. I am extremely impressed with Mizrain and his team's work. They went above and beyond to make the tree look great and full while still removing a significant amount of overgrowth. I was initially worried it would look bare or dead, but it looks amazing. They also thoroughly cleaned the entire area, removing not only large branches but also small twigs. They even blew away dust and picked up trash that had blown into our front yard, which was greatly appreciated and not expected.
