Gone are the forays into clothing and bags (you can still get hipster tees) and electronics, back comes the focus on good music and a wide film selection. One thing HMV has never lacked is staff who actually love music and you are always approachable (it helps when your mate works there too). The only thing this branch lacks is a vinyl selection but I think that may have something to do with Fopp (also owned by HMV) and its focus on selling the black stuff. Anyway, this store is worth a visit if you're in EK but doesn't quite match up to Glasgow's choice of music selection.

This bookstore takes its discount adverts in the windows seriously. I counted no less than three stacks/shelves of books and other literature paraphernalia selling at an average of roughly £3. Though there isn't much that piqued my interest other than the latest tome of the Wheel of Time series, you could easily get away with nicking a novel or three for under £10, which seems more than reasonable to me.

Sounds crazy, I know, but they do exist, and they're pretty darn cool. I might actually go back for some myself, see what they're all about. The store is a bit haphazard in it's set up, but if you give yourself enough time, you're bound to get through it without running in to piles of merchandise littered about the place or the odd screaming child left unattended by it's parent. One thing to note for all my fellow students out there: they offer a 10% discount when you show your student ID. With classes looming on the horizon, this could be a go to place for supplies, as they have loads of school supplies at the ready. The staff were in a giggling mood when we were there, but hey, it's good to know they enjoy their jobs! Makes for a better shopping atmosphere!

It was super busy and full of mostly international students using email and the usual stuff. They didn't have the version of microsoft word I needed in order to do the tasks I had to do, so it was a waste of a journey for me and still had to pay £1 for 15 minutes even though I was there for approximately 3. The rates are reasonable but it is quite cramped inside with uncomfortable high chairs which are quite close to the person beside you which is awkward. Not as comfortable as a nice University library, which is what I'm used to.

So explained the fellow at Yeeha, anyway. On a Sunday afternoon I suddenly remembered I had to print out plane tickets for an insanely early Monday flight. So I was very grateful that Yeeha is open until 6pm on Sundays, an hour and a half later than the closest Staples. It doesn't look like much from the street, just a small sign that's easy to miss. Wear comfortable shoes for the two-storey climb upstairs. You may also wish to bring sanitary hand wipes; the keyboard I used was pretty grubby.
