While I was on a business trip in Wisconsin, I kept seeing commercials for the Culver's restaurant…read morechain. It makes sense too, because this restaurant chain had its first opening in the state of Wisconsin. After checking out their menu online (www.culvers.com) this seemed like a delicious place to eat, so I decided to stop at this particular Culver's (Middleton, Wisconsin) to try this restaurant chain for the very first time. This year, Culver's is celebrating their 40-year anniversary, so they've obviously been around for a long time. Unfortunately, I have never experienced this restaurant chain because there are no Culver's restaurants located in my home state of California. I was happy to try this restaurant for the first time, especially in this restaurant's home state of Wisconsin. For my very first meal at Culver's, I decided to try their Double ButterBurger with cheese, with large crinkle cut French fries and a soda pop (Sprite). I ordered the ButterBurger because it appears to be one of the most popular items on their menu, and most likely the burger that contributed to their incredible success. The ButterBurger that was made for me was delicious and filled with flavor, and they cooked the French fries that came with my burger perfectly as well. This restaurant seems to have "Culver's fanatics," and with good reason. Culver's is one of those few fast-food restaurants that places a priority on quality, and toward this end, they make their burgers with the best cuts of fresh beef, including sirloin, chuck and plate, with no fillers. Their burgers are also pressed and seared so that it locks in the flavor. All this differs from most other fast food restaurants nowadays that make their burgers from frozen beef patties, often with fillers. I could tell the difference in the freshness of my burger at Culver's, and I'm sure that many other customers can as well. Their ButterBurgers also have a uniquely distinct buttery taste, and is wonderfully seasoned by a Culver's grill master. I had an enjoyable experience on my first visit, so I decided to try another item on their menu on a different day while I was in Wisconsin. On my second visit, at this same location, I ordered their fresh cod and cole slaw, along with a side of onion rings. Again, the cod was excellent; it was very fresh and nicely cooked, as were the onion rings. And of course, I couldn't leave without trying some of their famous frozen custard, so I ordered a chocolate concrete mixer. The concrete mixer was incredibly delicious, and it was so rich it took me two days to finish it off! My two visits to this location in the summer of 2024 were both enjoyable, and I look forward to trying more meals at this restaurant chain in the future.

As I approached…read morethis location, I was pleased to see how new and inviting the storefront was, along with the cleanliness of the premises. As I entered, I was immediately amazed at how clean and well-kept the inside was as well....it was immaculate. This is even more impressive because I came here shortly after dinnertime. While inside, I approached the menus in the front of this business and then I realized why this Taco Bell was so clean. As I started to glance through the menu, a young lady kindly asked if I was ready to order while she was cleaning and organizing the store. I said I'd be ready in just a couple of minutes, so she told me to just let her know when I'm ready and she would be happy to take my order. This young lady was well worth whatever she was making because not only was she hardworking, but she had a kind demeanor, which is excellent for customer service. In addition, she was also wearing a headset and working the drive-thru, so she was obviously taking multitasking to a whole new level. Shortly after I ordered my meal with her, a friendly and professional young man gave me my food, and he was kind enough to engage in some small talk with me. As with the young lady, this young man knows customer service. I love to engage with friendly people. Immediately after returning to my nearby hotel room, I quickly devoured my meal. I suspect that the young man who delivered my food was also the one who made it. He did a great job; It was delicious. The majority of Yelpers who have visited this Taco Bell gave it a poor rating, which is really confusing to me. That was certainly not my experience. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm stopping here for a great meal and friendly service.

It is easy to overlook the commonplace, especially ubiquitous national fast food chains like…read moreArby's. But it is important to congratulate who many may perceive as ordinary particularly when they consistently do an extraordinary job. Such is the case with the Arby's in Middleton out by the Costco. I and my family have been coming here since they opened a number of years ago. The store has always been clean and well lit with welcoming and courteous employees. Indeed, we have tried their patience many a Friday night as various parts of our extended family get together there for dinner. Maybe 15 or so of us, with little kids to boot. We can sometimes be like a plague of locusts decending upon the store--kids, wrappers, straws, chiding parents and grandma flying about. We always have to apologize for visiting our plague upon them. Yet they are always hospitable and tolerate our clan with grace and aplomb. (We do make extra efforts to clean up after ourselves though so that helps, I think). While many other things have changed over the years in Madison, this hasn't. Admirable, hey? I've always considered Arby's as a place for adult fast food. The menu does not particularly cater to children, although there are certainly many things children would like. Chicken strips, ham and cheese sandwiches, fries, etc. The menu is a little upscale with interesting sandwiches and salads, all at modest prices. They always seem to have interesting and fun specials. Now, they are doing a Hawaiian fish sandwich special. "Meat from the sea," is how they describe it. Tasty breaded fish fillet, tomato, cheese, and tartar sauce sandwiched between a Kings Hawaiian sweet bread bun. The bun was a little soft for my taste. But they were just like that when I have them growing up in Hawaii.. So all told, just as it should be. Tasty! At under $7 including tax, that's a good value! Also, great curly fries and a fine selection of condiments (Arby's sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, and ketchup--all out of pump dispensers) and a nice selection of soft drinks. They even have Diet Dr Pepper on their self serve fountain. My favorite! Finally, I love their selection of music that they play. It is a nice mix just right for someone like me who just splits the line between Baby-Boomer and Generation Xer. There have been a few times when they have played long-lost but much loved songs which I quickly put onto my Apple Music playlist never to be forgotten about again. (Tom Tom Club anyone?) I've been to other Arby's around town but this is by far the best. (Second place goes to the one on E. Washington Ave.--same solid menu and people. Just not quite as neatly kept). See you there! ----- Update - - thought I would try their new pork belly sandwich. I received an advertisement and have to say the picture was enticing. The pork belly is not too bad for fast food. It is served on a kaiser roll with some barbecue sauce and mayonnaise. Worth a try, especially with the coupon for a free drink and fries with purchase of the sandwich ($5.79). I think it may have been better if my sandwich was warm. It and the curly fries were pretty cold and seemed just slapped together. The fountain machine was also not functioning and then had no ice when they were able to start it up. There were also people hollering in the kitchen which startled me, even over the music in the store which they had blaring. Still pretty good music though. Management changed a number of months ago and I've noticed quality and service have declined noticeably, even for a fast food restaurant. This has been true for my last three visits. Sadly, it is definitely not the same store as when I wrote my first review.

Very poorly run, food took about half an hour most of the time we were the lead car. Asked no lettuce (it makes me sick) and lettuce all over my sandwich. My triple decker sandwich should have had peppered bacon, turkey, and ham. It had no ham. The bacon and turkey were good, but I had to eat the top half as everything else was coated in lettuce. My wife ordered au jus, and there was barely any in the cup. The Orange shake was good. What they seem to be doing is making several orders then taking them out, not checking them or keeping track at all, as they ask you what you had, and just glance in the bag. Fries were so-so. Most were crispy, but some were uncooked, soft, cold, and completely gross. So - the food and Arby's in general, I love the food. But this location - going downhill, and during COVID closure conditions, just don't go here. It will take you half an hour to an hour (for being the third car in, this was awful). Some places get you in and out - Popeyes gets through a drive-thru line very fast. Nothing really has to be cooked for more than 5 minutes at Arbys (Fries/chicken are really it). Extremely dissapointed. Taco Bell/WhichWhich are better options just slightly down the street.
