In a city where the usual going out time is, oh I dunno, like 12am, I was really pleased when I heard we'd be meeting around 8/9pm. So, note to those of you looking for a cool spot before you hit the discotheques, Igrejinha is perfect to get the mood (and cocktails) going. First thought was: super cool ambiance. Igrejinha literally translates in "little church" and while I didn't quite feel like I was in a little church, I certainly felt like I was at a friend's really cool house party and I loved the layout -- the small bar in the main room, the little hallway that leads to a few steps that leads to a cozy dancefloor, and then behind that, a mini terrace where all the smokers congregated. This made it really easy to mix and mingle and meet people (of which we met many). The many people we met were varied. Lots of gay people (mostly men) and lots of alternative folks. This isn't a cheesy, techno thumping gay bar, so the gay guys here didn't walk around with glitter covered chests. Just the opposite, these were more the kinds of dudes I'd almost always welcome being around. The cocktails were fantastic and when my friend recommended I get the best drink ever... and that the best drink ever is a long island iced tea... I got scared. Very, very concerned that I was heading quickly in the direction of a night I'd likely never forget. But instead, I tried her long island iced tea, and it tasted more like a fancy Brazilian version. Somehow, and I didn't know this was even possible, Igrejinha makes a mean, classed-up long island. The other drinks were great too and the bartender was super cool. After drinking and chatting and watching other people smoke, I hit the dancefloor. It felt something like partying in the 90s -- kinda grungy, but definitely respectable. Will I be back? Yeah, totally.

You can not visit Sao Paulo and don't go to the most famous gay club in the world!…read more This place is unbelievable! Really well organized, and with lots of beautiful people everywhere. Don't be surprised if you catch some famous figures. The location is divided in two huge dance floors. The main one is where the main djs and some ones invited famous world star djs perform for a shirtless crowd with amazing bodies hungry for great remixes while the second one is a good choice for the most relaxed people that like to be tuned into the pop hits. Whenever you feel tired, the club has an incredible outdoor area with a pool, lots of trees and everything very relaxing so you can refill your energy and get into your dancing shoes again. They also have a bar where is served a delicious Brazilian Açaí, a hiper caloric energy fruit juice that is going to help you to go through the entire night that most of the time, has no tome to end. For those lucky ones like me, you might get a VIP wristband to experience another club inside the club. Is jus not a VIP area, is a perfect oasis if you want to get away from the massive crowd and experience the backstage. It even gives you access to the stage, private bars, another private dance floor, bathrooms, a mezzanine over the main dance floor and even a "relaxing champagne lounge". The bathrooms are neutral gender with enough cabins so you don't have to wait in a long line and they are everywhere. Even with the place overcrowded, you won't take more than ten minutes in line to pay your bill when is time to leave. The decoration is always a surprise and depending on the event, they transform the outside area in a huge dance floor. They also have a dedicated smoking area, a first aid room, parking with valet and coat area. And if your trip to Brazil is going to be extended to Rio, be prepared because they also have another club there and is just amazing as this one!

The club has three rooms, dancers are in the main room, eye candy everywhere ! Watch out for the men with their shirt off $! So their drinking system is a bit different , you will receive a paper tab when you enter , KEEP THIS! You need to present it every time you get a drink! With 2 drinks I paired R45,000 or so leaving... So, I think your cover charge is paid on the way out not in the beginning . Can't wait to return !
