How surprised I was to find this shop right in my neighborhood! From the first day I walked in with my questions, the owner was super friendly and helpful. She has expertise in her craft and her large selection and very reasonable prices eliminated my need to shop across the country online, saving me a lot of money in shipping fees! I have had the WORST experience with this Hobby Lobby in the framing dept…read more I had a print that I wanted a frame for so I took it to Spencer's Hobby Lobby. I was told they couldn't put a frame on it because it was a 1/4 off and unless they put new stretching bars on it, they'd be unable to frame it. I hesitated because of the cost but decided to go ahead with that. They said it would take a couple of weeks, after a couple of weeks I received a call that they ordered the wrong size stretching bars and would need to reorder so now it's going to take another couple of weeks. A week later the store flooded. (Of course there was nothing they could do about that which I totally understand). However, if they had gotten the correct stretching bars to begin with this wouldn't have been a problem. We called to ask what was going to happen to our print and they said they'd ship it to another location and have it taken care of there. I was fine with that. After another couple of weeks, I called to see if it had been sent and they told me that I just needed to come and pick it up. I did. I live 45 minutes away from this store and an hour and a half away from the next nearest store so I hadn't had a chance to get it anywhere. Once Spencer's store was up and running I called to see if I could bring it back and they said yes. They ordered the stretching bars and put them on and I went to pick out a frame. They said it would be another couple of weeks. Three weeks later I called on a Thursday to see what was going on with the print and the same gentleman asked if I had gotten his message earlier the previous week. (I looked through my call log and there were NO calls from their store and clearly no message.) He said, "we just need to know what you want us to put on the back to hang it with?" I asked his advice because that's his forte. He advised a double wire. He said it could be done by that afternoon and I told him I couldn't be there that day but could be there by the weekend. Saturday, we go to pick up our frame. $421 for the frame and stretching bars. I get it home and get it ready to hang, take the plastic off..... there is NOTHING on the back. Are you kidding me?????? I'm furious! This is absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous! Update, I took the print to another store location. I was told that the guy from the Hobby Lobby in Spencer had done everything wrong! She took everything off and started over. Alas my print is ready to hang on the wall.

I even found rattail (kumihimo - Japanese braiding) on sale for a future project. The owner was behind the counter when I was there and had some great suggestions for finishing my project. The shop is downtown in the "historical" shopping district and parking is on the street. I had a little trouble maneuvering the one way streets. The shop is on the small and narrow side, and I agree with another reviewer that with a few customers or a class inside, it will feel crowded.

The staff was so helpful in helping me pick out a necklace for my daughter. She showed me different areas of the store where I could find what I was looking for and she explained the current sales. I found a gorgeous ring and necklace for my daughter along with an adorable little trinket bowl. Reasonably priced. I will definitely return to this store!
