She said the parts desk was not taking calls from individuals about parts but I was free to come in. I told her I didnt want to waste a trio if they didnt have the part. She would not forward my call to the parts department. Does this make sense? Wouldnt it take the same amount of time for the parts guy to look it up in person as it would on the phone? The only difference it waste a lot of my time with the drive if they dont have it. Guess who is NOT getting any of my business in the future?

On February 27th, we left Minnesota on our way to see our daughters new house in Picayune,…read moreMississippi with reservations for that night near St. Louis. About 20 miles north of Hannibal, our Impala started acting funny when it was pulling any kind of a hill. When we got into Hannibal, we pulled into an Auto Zone in Steamboat Bend shopping center and the manager grabbed an analyzer, hooked it to our car, and said we had an ignition coil failure on #3 cylinder, but he didn't have the parts. This was nearly 4:00 PM and he said to haul it to POAGE Chevy just a couple miles on down the road on the right. We pulled into POAGE and told the young lady in charge what we had going on, she grabbed one of her mechanics, he put their analyzer on the car and said the same thing was wrong. He put it in a work stall, went to the parts department and grabbed the only coil they had, a new spark plug, and the gaskets it would take to pull the intake of to access the coil and plug, went to work and had us out the door at 5:08 PM, and the bill was under $500.00!!! Come to find out, POAGE has at least 3 different car brand dealerships in that area, and if they're all anything like POAGE Chevrolet, if you're going to have car trouble, HAVE IT NEAR A POAGE DEALRSHIP!!! My car died on the side of the road on my way to Kansas City. I was stranded 3 hours away with…read morebarely any phone signal. Tried calling Turpin Automotive but no one picked up. Luckily, an extremely generous and patient nearby neighbor drove me to Turpin, about 7-8 miles from my car. At the shop I met Travis, who seemed exhausted and probably overwhelmed with work, but remained friendly and helpful throughout the ordeal. He even offered to drive me to a nearby hotel if my car needed a few days to be repaired. However, he reassured me that they would try to get my car up and running as soon as possible to avoid that scenario. He was nice enough to let me stay in the office and even found an iPhone charger for me while he left to tow my car. He quickly discovered the problem. Turns out my car only ran out of gas! The gas gauge was inaccurate. It showed 2 bars left, but was actually empty. It could've been so much worse. Sure enough, they had the car up and running as soon as possible. Towing expenses and everything else came out to only $76. Which is perfect, because my insurance covers $75 for towing! No exorbitant fees, no scams, no nonsense. Seems like a good, honest business. Straight to the point. Huge thank you to Turpin Automotive, and especially to Travis, who did far more than his job required and provided outstanding service.

I have a car that some repair shops did not want to deal with. (It doesn't have a computer hook-up…read morethat tells the mechanic what's wrong). Robbie and Shane were not concerned and immedatly took on the repairs. Some parts were hard to find but they eventually got them all. They went above and beyond what I was expecting and did everything at a reasonable price. I also had concerns about items that I thought needed replacement and they assured me that it would be wasted money to replace those items. (What? A repair shop that doesn't want to replace expensive parts?) Shane also noticed that I was missing something on my wheels and found the parts. If they can do all this for a pre 1994 car, they can do everything we need here in Pike County. Highly reccomend.
