This is one of the best apartment blocks in Auckland in my opinion as it is well constructed, quiet…read moreand boutique. The concrete and steel structure means it's very sturdy (and not going to have leaky home issues if you're looking to buy) and also keeps the noise down between apartments. I've lived here over a year and only had one party go down so it's a respectful, quiet block of 40 apartments and there have been more owner occupiers move in this year. The body Corp is very well managed and issues are tended to very quickly. The apartments are all two bedroom and the west facing apartments (best side) have two bathrooms, the east have one and a slightly larger balcony. Most apartments come with one car park but there is plenty of street parking for visitors or more cars. The west facing apartments have great views out to the Waitakere's and the afternoon sun of course. It's a great place to live and having Kingsland only a minute away makes it even better - for both dining, transport and Eden Park options.

It's a beautiful…read moreold heritage type building that was constructed in 1930 and has been called " one of the most self- consciously monumental public buildings erected in early twentieth century New Zealand". True to its name it was the former main railway station of New Zealand before services were moved to the Britomart station. The inside lower floor is just as visually stunning as the outside, with mural like floors and grand staircases. However all this just belies the sham it houses now. It is now used as housing for Auckland University students and shoddy housing it is too. Tiny kitchenettes that lead off to even tinier bedrooms, the most basic bathrooms ever, and a communal cooking and eating area. It's not even that well priced, it should be at clearance level rent. Honestly I feel sorry for anyone who has to live here voluntarily, but the apartment market in Auckland is so tight at the moment it really is needs must. It's such a shame that such a wonderful, historic building is really going to waste.

Actually I am pretty sure you can walk into the main entrance part because there are no security doors here, but the next part is where it has been converted into small apartments, so don't go getting yourself into trouble. Anyway this is the old railway building, and I can remember using it when it was still operational many years back. It is architecturally a fantastic place to visit, both outside and inside, and such an iconic building that it should be used as something worthwhile, like a museum. But alas it is being wasted as budget accommodation, and pretty dodgy accommodation at that. It makes me sad. And now I'm confused as to how to distribute my rating stars.

We rented a unit for 12 months with Charta at the Minnie Street location in Eden Terrace. The…read morerelationship got off to a bad start when we moved in and all but one light was not working. After several attempts at asking them to fix this (including one visit where they took the only remaining light bulb in the house as a "sample" to find a suitable replacement) we complained to Mishael and were basically told if you don't like it move out and we should have been able to cook with the range hood light bulb (what a joke!). I wish we had taken the offer to move out as things at Minnie Street only became worse. They seem to take care of the building only every 12 months or so when everyone's leases are coming up. The rest of the time the cleaners do a poor job, turn up first thing Monday morning when everyone is still asleep and the plants are dieing. The apartment building is also unpleasantly hot as it has a clear plastic ceiling for some god awful reason, which makes it not unlike a glass house in summer. Of Charta's behaviour specifically they are almost unanimously unpleasant to deal with, slow to reply to any reasonable request and even slower to action repairs. Other examples of snails-pace repairs included a building intercom that was broken for about 6 months and a cracked cooktop in our apartment that should have been replaced before we moved in (the replacement was just sitting there and it was up to us to arrange a technician on our own time). After our experiences I would have to say I would not recommend this business to anyone - tenant or landlord. The only reason I give them two stars is one of their rental agents was most helpful the day we moved out. However this does not make up for a multitude of other unreasonable behaviour during our time with them

Hi Mishael, I will ask you three questions.  1) If this was your property would you want your property manager to limit viewing times to when suits them or have  viewing times to suit when best to sell the apartment and the tenant.    Viewing times at 3pm on a Tuesday and a Thursday is not when buyers are free. They are at work. 50% of buyers can only view a property on weekends or after work hours and buyers from out of Auckland can only generally view on the weekend. This is why open homes are on weekends.    2) Would you want your apartment when sold to be presented in the best possible way or would you want a photographer to come in and take photos of mess with a time limit of 20 minutes.  3) When renting your apartment would you be disappointed to find out that your rental manager had not only locked you in for 12 months but rented it for less than other apartments in the building effectively costing you a lot of money.  3) When selling your apartment would you want a relationship created with the tenant and the best possible access for all parties or would you want access availability only when your rental managers staff were on the clock. .  5) When going to sell an apartment would you want your rental agent tell your specialist agent how to do his job and compare his job to selling houes when we are selling an apartment and then proceed to tell them how to do his job.   5) When renting your apartment would you want to be locked into an agreement for 12 months or the life of the tenancy or would you want to be not locked in like the industry standard.

I think it's very safe to say that neither of us will every deal with them again. We popped in here at the start of my sister's rental and you would honestly think the woman we dealt with hated us. I'm not exaggerating. She was rude, she was argumentative, she was unhelpful, and just a scary piece of work in general. We had a few minor hiccups to sort out with the rental (these things happen to the best of us) and you'd think we were criminals. On top of it all, the office space is so tiny I kind of felt like I was trapped..eek! This place needs a major customer service overhaul, although I guess there's not much motivation for that kind of thing with the property market as tight as it is. I walked past recently and noticed they had a doggie water bowl out. Which is really quite nice considering they're not a restaurant or anything. But it wasn't enough to warm my opinion of them any.
