I had selected this location for labs and it was not the best experience. I was 15 mins early to my appointment. I checked in on a kiosk and opted to be texted when it was my turn so that I could wait in my car since the waiting area was full. I didn't like that there was no board with a queue to see where you are on the list. I received a text about my appointment 30 minutes past my appointment time. The staff claimed they had been calling for me in the waiting room.... The staff member who took my blood had very odd bedside manner. My husband was in the room with me and was scrolling on his phone waiting for me and talking to me as a distraction from the blood draw. Apparently the staff member thought he was taking photos??? Very odd. While I was using the restroom another patient was called into the room and he didn't even ask my husband (who was waiting for me) to step out... Obviously my husband found this weird and exited. To make it more awkward, I had to go back in while the other patient was in there to drop my cup off. I always make sure to have an appointment booked when I have to stop in. The staff is nice and accommodating and helpful. They do great with my kids and I have no complaints. I've visited different locations which have given me incorrect cups for specimens and delayed results but I have never had an issue with the south Plainfield location. read more

I went to Quest Diagnostics (904 Oak Tree Ave, Ste k, South Plainfield, NJ) for a routine blood test today, with an appointment already scheduled. This is my usual location for blood work, and I typically carry the doctor's prescription on my phone, which I email to the technician without any issues. However, today was a different experience. The technician asked me to provide a paper copy of the prescription and mentioned that she only had 10 minutes per patient and that a paper copy was mandatory. I explained that I've never been asked for this before and that there was no mention of needing a paper copy on Quest's website when I booked the appointment. She asked me to email it, then stated that their email system doesn't work well due to a poor network connection, though she received the email in just two seconds. Later, she informed me that one of the tests wasn't covered and that I would need to have my doctor's office call Quest Diagnostics to resolve the issue, otherwise, my blood work would be put on hold. This was surprising, as I've never encountered this before for my routine tests. I contacted my doctor's office, and they were unsure why this issue had arisen, but said they would follow up with Quest. I was also told that if the doctor's office doesn't call within the next six days, the blood work won't be processed. I'm hoping everything gets sorted out soon. read more

I had a small window of time to get my lab done today. I did a quick Yelp search, read some reviews, scheduled my appointment, & hoped for the best. That's exactly what I got! Cherique (sp) was the lab technician who took care of me. She is the epitomy of effective and efficient. Cherique asked which arm I preferred. She quickly analyzed my veins (I have small veins), determined what size needle she needed versus what was available to her, & drew my blood with the ease of a consummate professional. Go to this facility often. This is the first time I used the restroom for my urine test. Almost left. Extremely dirty. Not how you want to use the facility for an important test. Unnecessarily aggressive and impolite staff. i recommend making an appointment because you get pushed back in the queue every time an appointment person comes in so, you could be waiting a while. Easy to avoid this by just making a last minute appt. also bring water( if urine test), the water cooler is not in the lobby and not accessible while you wait. There's no customer service at all. There's a tablet check in and no one to ask questions to ( not great for elderly guest, I had to help out a random elderly customer while i waited) my staff member appeared to be in a bad mood and was very nasty to me. inaccurately stated how much I would need to urinate and asked me to come back later when i said i was unsure if i could produce ( 2 cups is what she stated, only needed 2 tubes) came back later, still had to wait 20 minutes because there is no receptionist. Realized I could have urinated that much before, basically wasted an hour of the day and left feeling awful because she was just so rude to me. this is my second time coming to this location, same rude staff both times, they just really seem like they don't want to work there read more

If there was a place for zero stars I would use it. Did everything online. Had 8:10 appt. Was called in back @ 8:33. Tech typed whatever for over 30 minutes. Who knows what she typed since everything had already been inputted prior to in person appointment. A area manager really need to look into this particular facility. read more

Ugh. Unless this is ur last resort in the world, DONT DO IT!!! Woman at the door was rude to everyone who enters. Has no people skills whatsoever. Would love to call and get her name but who has the two hours to wait on the phone. I understand it is covid time but to make people stand outside in the pouring rain cuz u don't feel like moving fast enough to take temperatures is just insane. I was waiting for a fax and she was so bothered by this as if it was taking money from her placket !!! Then to find out she didn't even send the results in time to spite me. Took a week to get something that should take three days THE MOST!! Which was the OTHER quests fault in Roselle to start with!!! She talked to us like we were low life's. As if we were bothering her with any question we had!! People like this don't belong in people professions. They belong on unemployment and let the professionals with skills handle the pleasantries!!!! . read more

The absolute worst. Only go there if you want incompetent phlebotomists who can't read scripts, draw unnecessary tubes of blood, don't listen to patients, and have bad attitudes. They screwed up my labs 3X. Once they didn't even use the labs my doctor faxed in, after I told them it was faxed in. Instead, Latoya decided to use standing labs from a different doctor, causing an unnecessary trip. Not to mention, they don't answer phone calls to remedy the situation. In addition, No one knows how to draw blood without leaving a bruise mark on your arms. Finally, don't bother making an appointment, because you will still wait 15-20 minutes for them to open the door, an additional 15 minutes in the waiting room, and 20 minutes in the room where they can't decipher the script and have to keep asking coworkers only to still get wrong information. read more

I was appalled by how rude the phlebotomist who was working to door was. She was condescending to me because I entered before she let me in. Maybe she is being over worked since I see her running around, but that was still no excuse to be mean. read more

I've given the Piscataway office more than a few times to get it right but today was it. I arrived at 2:45 and realized that I forgot my mask in the car. I went back to to get it. I tried to run but was unsuccessful because I have MS and my legs were wobbly(Parked in the handicap which is about 10 steps away). After grabbing my mask and hobbling back to the door, the lady closed and locked the door in the face. She then proceeded to stand there while I tried to beg but she turned around and walked away. I stood there for about five minutes hoping she would change her mind but she let someone out the door and slammed the door behind them. She didn't even look at me. I stood there in tear and now in pain from my legs going from wobbly to hurting. I tried to contact the corporate office but haven't had success so now I'll have my lawyer write a letter. read more

This is my favorite Quest. The phlebotomists are skilled and attentive. I've had a few bad experiences at the Quest in Edison (with permanent nerve damage!) and now I drive out of my way to come here. My only complaint, and why I give it 4 stars, is because it smells like cigarettes!!!! Like, intensely. I don't know why, but it's bothersome if sitting in the waiting room for a long time. read more

The staff here is very nice and I've had better luck with wait times than with other Quest locations. However on my most recent trip, wait time was excessively long though granted I chose to walk in about a half hour before closing. I also wish it was easier to make appointments online without having a 2 week lead time, since I work it is not always possible to schedule that far ahead. This isn't this location's fault though, Quest Management should take note. Still probably the best Quest location in area. read more

They have you make appointments and they take walk ins before the appointment people. If you have a question to bad cause not a single person works in the waiting room, it's all done by tablet. The staff is rude and you are just a number to them. No customer service what so ever. read more
