Had 2 horrible experiences here. The phlebotomist (small dark skinned man) made an anti semitic remark to me. I was there for blood work on Rosh Hashanah. He asked how my day was going, I said busy as I'm cooking for RH. He said what that, I explained it was the Jewish new Year. He then said, "oh you're a Jew" WOW!!! Then he took the blood from my lower forearm on the inside. I asked him why he sluffed it off A week later I got a call that they coded it wrong so I had to go back. I went back had a female phlebotomist. I told her the story, she said they are not allowed to legally take blood from that area. A week later, again, they tell me it was done/coded wrong. I did not go back I spoke with the manager, who was apologetic, but I wont ever go back there! read more

Like other reviewers, I was surprised at the mix of great and terrible reviews of the Santa Monica Quest facility. I scheduled an appointment on-line -- very easy -- and arrived about 15 minutes early. A couple people in waiting room - very clean and comfy. Receptionist was friendly and efficient. I got called about 5 minutes later and the nurse was great -- smiling and adept. Blood drawing was super easy and virtually painless. I was out by the time my appointment hour rolled around! Do not go here! Sketchy AF!! I scheduled an appointment because my insurance company recommended it for check up. I arrived without an appointment and got in fairly quickly but the "nurse" was very unsure of everything she was doing and when she drew blood it felt like she was stabbing my arm. Also the front desk lady was not welcoming and quite frankly rude. read more

Getting blood tests is never fun, but this Quest location makes things pretty painless, pardon the pun. I've been here three times now, and for all three visits I've made my appointments online and gotten in and out in ten minutes without a problem. The office is clean and the phlebotomists are good. Also, if you sign up on Quest's website, you can review all your test results online about two weeks after you get them (blame the state of CA for the delay; they require Quest to hold back results 14 days). read more

Due to certain health issues, I get blood drawn a lot for routine testing. This is hands down the worst lab I have ever been to. Aside from the fact that they are disorganized and lose results, the staff completely lacks compassion. I was unable to book an early morning appointment any sooner than 3 months out, so I went in as a walk in patient half an hour before they opened. My blood draw required a sample prior to 9 am or it would be invalid. They knew this and still made me wait for 2 hours. When I was finally brought in, they "just realized" that it needed to be done before 9 am and told me I needed to come back another day and wait again. On another occasion, I had just been discharged from an emergency room visit the day before and was in a lot of pain. I needed to drop off a home collection specimen, and when I walked in in obvious pain, I was asked to wait my turn. After 30 minutes of waiting patiently, it took tears and begging for anyone to just take my specimen and form and let me go home. In the end, it took me 6 weeks to get those results back because of internal miscommunications. I refuse to go to this lab again. read more

If I could give a zero star I would. I have been there multiple times. I sat there for 25 min not one person addressed me or acknowledged my existence. They spoke to the people who arrived after me so I spoke up and got shamed for it. The lady was so rude to me and derogatory. I stated that I was fasting and she said "makes sense" as in that is why I'm in a bad mood (maybe it's because I've been sitting there for 25 min without being acknowledged). Then when I went to pay she chose for me to be billed which I have never been billed before I always just pay right there. Very unprofessional and will be taking my lab orders at a more professional and better place. read more

Obviously no one wants to do blood tests but here we are. the receptionist was not warm but not rude. Getting an appointment online was easy though none available until a week later. I waited 45 min almost because she didn't see i wrote I had an appointment so she kept taking people without an appointment (they were waiting even longer than me so get an appointment!) but she apologized. Room is not comfy and its cluttered with supplies and blood viles (ah!) BUT this 4 stars is for my technician. WHAT A PRO. I was so nervous and it really didn't hurt when he put the needle in and he was so calm and nice. I wish I got his name but: THANK YOU TECHNICIAN FROM 12:45 pm on Thursday 9/21/17!!! read more

My review is of Robin. She was very professional, efficient and honorable in her work. She made it as pleasant as could be.

Worst place ever. One technician was seriously under skilled at drawing blood and butchered my hand. They don't even have ice on hand to treat any resultant swelling. The other technician on my other hand drew my blood on the first "shot." So not a problem with my veins or hand. I was in sever pain for a few hours, and dropped my glasses because of that. Their balance, for the biometric screening was off by 15 lbs, at least: I know because I checked with my doctor's office and my home scale - sure enough, they underweighed me by 15 lbs. The previous patient tried to tell them that as well, but no one would listen. They don't care. Seriously understaffed at this location. I will never go here again. read more

very friendly staff -- i suck at taking blood tests & have to do one every few weeks. the wait times aren't the best, i wont lie to you. you can, however, call to ask the present wait time or try to schedule an appt. in advance. but once you move into the exam room, the staff will make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible read more

I don't know how this place is in business. They have awful customer service. I just had a drop off a sample I took and they make you wait with everyone who is waiting to have a test done. Do not come here if you have an option. By far one of the dumbest policies I ever heard. read more

My second experience was not much better as the first. Long wait even with just 2 patients in front of me. One hour has gone by with no signs they will see me anytime soon. Nice view from the office though, if you count that on the rating. read more

The problems started when I checked in at the desk. I told the clerk that my physician's office had faxed the order. He looked, apparently couldn't find it and told it hadn't been faxed. I told him that I knew it had been faxed and told him the day. He insisted that it hadn't and didn't bother to look. He also told me with a smirk the only thing I could do was to call my to call my doctor's office. (It was 8:15 in the morning --I wouldn't have been able to get anyone). By this time I was pretty steamed. I had an appointment, had fasted, and had other things to do besides hassling with an incompetent clerk. Fortunately a woman emerged from the back, so I told her the situation. She immediately ushered me in, drew my blood, and I was on my way. Five stars for her. I had asked when I would I be able to have my results. She asked if I were good with computers. I told her I am. She then told me if I registered for the website, I could have my results in two days. Fine, I went home and registered for myquest.com and after two days requested my results. Only response was an automated message telling me my results would be available after five working days and if not to contact them again. There was a link to a form. It's been six working days, still no results, same message. I filled out the form. No response yet. I tried calling on the phone, but there is no option on the completely automated phone answering script to talk to a real person or find out what happened to my results. I'm done with Quest. Next time I will be asking my doctor to send me to St. John's for my blood work. Update: I received an email from Quest in response to my third request for my results telling me my results would be posted today. It is 3:30 pm now, still no results. read more

Service is everything and when my last visit here was awful (I'm here monthly), I chalked it up to Douglas (the desk clerk) having a bad day. Here I am again, here he is and, again, dreadful. He did not allow me to ask a question or complete a sentence; going so far as to respond tersely to the question he had assumed I was going to ask when he cut me off. I will most likely be changing labs. No loss to Quest, really. They're giants so who cares. Douglas would better serve this company in a back office setting. read more

Pretty impressed... I paid Quest Diagnostics a visit today for some blood work. Strange enough, no one was there so I had the waiting room to myself. I didn't mind at all. The two women who came out to assist me were helpful and right away you can tell that these women work swiftly. They took down my information, asked me a few questions, and bam, I was sitting in room 2 waiting to be pricked. The process of blood drawing was so quick and painless, I was shocked when it was over. The woman who took care of my blood work was very kind, efficient and so talented at what she does! I've been to many doctor offices where nurses have bluntly stabbed me a couple times before succeeding. That was not the case here...as unpleasant as blood work and needles are, the staff here at QD Santa Monica sure got me in and out of there before I could even freak out. read more

I can't comment on this particular office, but Quest in general sucks. They have a fully automated appointment system that does not allow you to speak to anyone with pertinent questions. The system sent me to an office that no longer performs that procedure I needed. I sent them an email and never heard back. I notice that they respond pretty quickly when people are watching (i.e. Twitter), but that's all for show. read more

Not a great parking situation, but once I found a meter and walked over I did get in and out within about 30 minutes for a blood draw (no appointment, weekday morning), which is pretty reasonable. Employees were efficient if not over-the-top friendly & helpful. read more

Monday and Friday are the worst in waiting time! Quest t Diagnostics is the worst. The woman at the front desk most of the time can't even give an estimate when you will be seen. They don't have enough staff. I came in today (Friday) at 10:30 am and left at 1:30pm. This is ridiculous. read more

Staff is rude and does not try to explain why there are wait times or set reasonable expectations so patients can plan their day. Their systems are outdated. Wait time is over an hour, possibly 2 to have a simple test done because they can only handle one order at a time in their systems. Zero flexibility in their process. Overall experience is hostile, unwelcoming and stressful. Find another lab, this is not worth it. read more

Their scheduling system is a nightmare. Would not recommend. I made an appointment and rescheduling for the week after. They send no confirmations online and it's impossible to get in contact with a real person because their phone system will do everything in its power to make sure you receive 0 human contact. I arrived for my appointment it wasn't even in the system and apparently the receptionist informed me that my confirmation code I had already used prior to reschedule my initial appointment wasn't even valid. Horrendous scheduling system that overshadows the average service you'll receive in person. read more

I am really bad with needles but I have been going to this quest for quite some time and it makes it a lot easier to get blood taken. Yesnia (one of the techs) usually draws my blood and she honestly is the best of the best, she is quick and makes it painless. It is a really busy place but I've learned if you are there before they open or before they close for lunch you get in right away after lunch, you can also make an appointment on quests website which helps a lot with getting in and out on time. read more

I arrived at around 11AM it was very busy. There were two ladies at the desk then soon after there was only one person entering forms and doing the labs. The lady drawing the labs, Yesenia, was getting yelled at by customers who were angry there was only one person on staff and the wait was very long. I saw several people leave. I waited and although frusterated I was grateful Yesenia was so professional and compassionate. Despite people yelling at her, she maintained her professionalism. 1 stars for Yesenia and her awesome customer service 0 stars for Quest not properly staffing their facilities. read more

We've been here for 45 minutes and not 1 person has been seen. The woman at the front desk has argued with almost every patient that has come in. The wait time and hostile environment has made my daughter so uncomfortable (when she was already scared to have her blood drawn) that we are going to leave and go somewhere else. SMH. The people are mostly good, some very good--but the system is horrible. They often have only one employee and the policy is: one thing at a time. If that thing is a blood draw and whatever that takes 20 minutes, or if it is just handing a specimen over the counter with all the label done and all they have to do is put it in a box. That means if you're just handing a specimen, it sucks. One employee? Worse suckage. There can be one or two people in the waiting room and you still wait 45 min to hand a bag across the counter. So, long waits are a big problem here. read more

Judith is hands down the sweetest person! I had constant problems with my paperwork that my doctor's office had filled out and corrected. Judith was helping me contact them many many times to finally get it right. She was showing great patience and help along the entire process. In the end, the office still couldn't get everything right, Judith took the paperwork verbally from the doctor's office instead and went through all the trouble herself typing all the information into the system. Had she not helped a great deal, I wouldn't know if I could even do my blood work today (I got sent back yesterday because nobody told me that I needed to fast). The process of hours of waiting and calling was truly horrible and frustrating but Judith made everything better. Thanks a lot!!! read more

Where do I begin!? My whole life I have so many issues with having my blood drawn, not including the bruises that last weeks. Lord and behold I have a beautiful shining gem in such a ugly and painful industry! Her name is Robin. I have NEVER had my blood drawn and not been left in pain and bruised. She was done before I even realized that she poked me!!!! Quest may have a long wait BUT she is worth every minute. She remember me from the first time (which made me feel special). Worst experience EVER! The staff at this location was super-lazy. They were faced with a request for labs that couldn't be performed using their regular cookie cutter, so they tried to blame my doctor for not giving them enough information. I thought I was done, but now I received a huge bill because they didn't know how to process my insurance, which covers labs done at quest 100%. I have to use them bc of my insurance, but if I had a choice, I would not use them. Awful experience. The people at LabCorp, which is in the same building, though are extremely nice and professional. read more

I have been to this laboratory location several times and the workers they are always in a bad mood, poor customer services. It's not pleasant to have your blood taken especially by someone who don't look happy with their job. read more

Super nice and clean facility, the staff Robin and Brian were ridiculously friendly and made some great conversation, I have really confusing insurance that they figured out quickly, and overall I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I dont know what people are griping about - Rebecca and Brian (Brianna lol) are great. The place is clean, they run it smoothly and are quick and efficient. People need to relax and realize that this is not a drive through window for fast food. This is delicate work that needs to be done properly lest one of the patients gets infected, or the paperwork is mixed up. Seriously, peps. read more

As others have said the phone and appointment situation is lacking. However, I had an excellent experience. I walked in at about 2:00 and was seen 5 minutes later. I was a bit anxious because I had blood drawn earlier in the week from a different place and the technician there was having troubles getting blood. The woman who helped me was a pro and did everything in under 5 minutes. I only wish I had put less money in the parking meter! read more

I spent 2 hours sitting waiting to have blood work done. Tried booking an appointment. Their internet booking wasn't working. Same with the phone line. It's now 11 days and my doctor still hasn't received the blood work from the lab - after 3 calls to both the doctor and the lab. read more
