I used to work in events so I've encountered different caterers, from the really expensive ones to the low-cost ones. Queensland Catering falls right in the middle. They're pretty well-known here in the south for their delicious food and commendable service. Queensland has catered my sister and mom's birthday and on both events, not one guest complained about the food or the waiters. Event styling wasn't really a thing then, but their table centerpieces always looked fresh and elegant. We never encountered a shady staff member from Queensland. Whenever a party was over and we stayed behind to clean up, the waiters would endorse to me anything that the guests left in their table; like a jacket or a purse. I commend them at how they accommodated our requests and customised their package to fit out budget. The sales staff assigned to us was very prompt in coordinating all the details of our event with us. All the members of the staff were quick to assist us and our guests. I like it that they all looked neat and presentable (walang pawisan) even when our venue is at an open clubhouse. All of our guests loved the food that Queensland served to us on that day. All of the dishes were kept warm and our fish fillet was crisp as they were cooked right at the venue. My sister-in-law was surprised that our sumptous feast was at a very affordable package. Before attending a wedding expo, I did preliminary research on caterers that offer delicious food at affordable rates. One of the names that repeatedly came out was Queensland Catering. So, come the day of the expo, I made it a point to look for the booth and ask for more information. Regarding the menu, I had the impression that the dishes were a notch above the usual Filipino or Chinese fiesta style wedding reception fare that most affordable caterers offer. Queensland had on their menu Iberian Chicken, Chicken Gallantina, Roast Pork with Pineapple Sauce, Assorted Cold Cuts (for appetizer), and Seafood Kebab with Mediterranean Yogurt Dip to name a few. As if to highlight the value of the dishes, they named their packages after jewels: Ruby, Emerald, Jade, Pearl and Diamond. The standard rates of the packages alone are really affordable and there are already some amenities that come with each. However, take note that there are also additional charges for equipment usage, VAT, travel/delivery charge depending on location, and drinking mineral water. Still, I appreciate that they were honest about the additional charges. I'd rather know at once than be surprised. Also, if my computation is right, even with the added charges, Queensland still has the most reasonable price. All in all, Queensland Catering is a value for money caterer. They offer a little higher than basic amenities plus a little more variety than the usual menu while remaining affordable. The only downside is computing exactly how much you have to pay once you take into account the additional charges. read more

We booked Queensland Catering for a grand opening event because their package had the best value for money, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. Before the event, they told us that they required 4 hours to set up. Our event was at 2PM, so we were waiting for them at the venue as early as 10AM. By 11AM they had yet to arrive, and the event coordinator assigned to us could not be contacted. When we called their head office, we were told that the set-up team had left as early as 5AM. Our venue was less than an hour from their Las Pinas office. When we said there was no way their truck would take 6 hours to reach the venue, they texted us their driver's number and asked that WE call him to follow up. At 12PM, we were finally able to contact the coordinator. She told us the set-up team would arrive at 12:30PM. At 12:45PM, still no sign of the set-up team. We called the coordinator again, she got snappy and said "ginawa ko naman trabaho ko". Since we were getting nowhere with her or their head office, we called the driver of the truck. He then informed us that they were STILL in Las Pinas. Set-up finally arrived just an hour before the event. To be fair to the team, they managed to finish preparations just as the guests were arriving, and the food tasted good. I don't think it was their fault that they were late - most likely their head office did not coordinate with them properly. But given the amount of delay and how unprofessionally our concerns were handled, we will definitely not book Queensland for future events. read more
