It has…read morebeen family run for over 30 years and the pillar within the family oriented community of PP. Knowledgeable staff and teachers, and so much kindness towards the children. Most importantly they support young dancers with all levels and interest to have fun, learn technique, and perform all with the same respect. Easy to park and exit compared to other studios. I've frequented them all with my kids ranging from 16 to 5yo who have attended dance classes in the surrounding areas including Brentwood and SaMo, so if you're looking for a dance studio, this is by far the best!

Our experience…read moreis totally the opposite and obviously Fancy Feet is doing something right with up to 350 dancers enrolled each year in 90 classes, and celebrating 27+ years of business. Everyone should be so lucky to have a studio like Fancy Feet in their neighborhood! Fancy Feet serves as a base for learning the basics of dance and performance at all levels. The studio has a multitude of classes so there's a class for everyone, with beginner through advanced classes. A dancer can take just one ballet, jazz or hip hop class or work towards being a member of the performance group. Every student has the opportunity to choose their own path. There are some dancers who are there to have a good time and others who are serious about their craft. And there are some dancers who take more than 10 classes a week! Everyone has the opportunity to excel through hard work, passion. For those that take multiple classes and participate in the performance group, class placement is determined by a balance of age, skill and dedication and a positive attitude. Fancy Feet becomes a second home to many of the dancers and lifelong friendships are made. The studio cultivates positive role models and this year there are 15+ dancers who are graduating from high school and most of them are going on to 4-year colleges. My daughter has been a dancer at Fancy Feet for 13 years and I am so grateful for the opportunities she has been given, the confidence dance and Feet Feet have instilled in her, and the memories she has made.

Our…read moreoldest has moved on to other interests, but our 7-year-old continues with ballet and loves it. I've watched Elite grow from a smaller studio into the powerhouse it is today. Elite is an excellent dance studio, from day one through their very polished recitals. It's important to note that this is not a cutesy/playtime type of studio. Dance is a discipline, and so dress code and presentation are taken seriously. For first-timers, that might feel a little intimidating, but there's a reason behind it. Hair and makeup need to be spot-on for recitals, because there's always a chance your cute 3 or 4-year-old might get on stage and just stand there! But guess what? They'll look fantastic doing it. And then, year after year, you'll see their confidence and ability grow. As a parent, you will need to stay on top of recital packets to know who/what/where/when, and I find Elite to be very thorough in the material they send out, or if you simply call them ahead of time. Another perk.. they have a professional photographer who takes photos on stage and backstage at shows/recitals for FREE. As well as a videographer, which is very much appreciated. The owner, Toni, taught my oldest years ago and is fantastic, both as a teacher and as a business owner. Neither of my girls have ever been on team, but both have always enjoyed their classes. The teachers are wonderful with age-appropriate instruction (shout out to Miss Princess with the littles) and technique. My 7-year-old only takes one ballet class currently, yet she could not be more excited to be performing in The Nutcracker for her second year in a row. Needless to say, we love Elite!

Truly one of the most welcoming studios I've ever been to as well - it's the fastest I've made new dance friends at a studio before and the staff is so nice. They film the end of every class which is great, and sometimes they'll even bring in professional videographers for certain classes or pop ups. I signed up online via a link from their Instagram and the website was pretty user friendly and I was able to get registered for the class I wanted. No sweat. Looking for parking can be tough as it's street parking only, so I came a bit early to ensure I was able to get a spot. Walking in, the interior was pretty cozy and it was smaller compared to other studios I've been to in LA, but not a bad thing at all! The person working the front greeted me and I told her it was my first time so she gave me a rundown of how the studio works. I appreciate the great customer service! They have a full front mirror, cubbies to store your belongings, a clean bathroom, and an ipad up front to sign in. The class was comfortable since there were people of different dance levels so it's not intimidating. I also liked that it wasn't crowded. The classes usually last for 1 hour and 30 min. I would definitely take a class here again in the future.

She makes sure you get the moves while also keeping the environment supportive, comfortable, and celebratory. I love when she gets so excited that she literally starts screaming because someone in class is going off. She celebrates people constantly, by name or even just noticing something they're rocking like, "Yes, GREEN JUMPSUIT!" Being the only guy in the class, I've never once felt isolated, judged, or uncomfortable about assumptions people might make about me. I've only ever felt celebrated. It was refreshing not having to navigate that in a public place. She encourages fluidity in whatever way feels right for you, whether it's super masc, super feminine, or somewhere in between. Her focus is helping you connect to your artistic dance spirit, and that's when you know you're doing it right. She also celebrates neurodiversity and really focuses on what the strengths are within that, while also helping people navigate certain challenges. Karma's class is more than just learning choreography. Watching her dance is witnessing powerful, raw, and inspiring artistry. When she demos, it honestly feels like a mini performance during class. Then when she dances with us right after, you feel like this epic backup dancer, and it inspires new moves and articulations within you. There's also a strong sense of community in Karma's class. She's built a culture where you not only bring self-love to the class, but appreciation and love for the people dancing alongside you. Someone might be doing a twerk, an offbeat wild move on their chair, or some epic crawl across the floor, and the whole class erupts with roaring encouragement. Karma encourages asking questions about the dance moves and routines. She absolutely loves them. But remember, she's an A-type personality, so be sure to raise your hand. ; ] She's also a motivational instructor because she's real. She doesn't say generic things. Sometimes she shares philosophies or lessons that helped her in life, and I've caught myself thinking, "How is this level of Impacting dialogue happening in a chair dance class?" It's a one-of-a-kind experience that involves a chair, saucy moves, and surprising moments of human-centered community, full of loving people hosted by the radiant Karma!

I also like that you get to dance with the instructors and get feedback, I don't believe other dance studios do this so this a huge plus. My instructors were David/Michelle and John/Sofia. AMAZING instructors, 10/10. Both partners are highly knowledgeable and explain technique in easy ways to understand. I enjoy the demo at the end of the class. Some great inspiration!!
