As a recent graduate from the school of management, I have nothing but warm memories of Queens.Another reviewer here has went on about administrative blunders costing her dear, and whilst that is terrible, it would be in the vast minority of cases, so I would like to focus on the facilities and educational experience on offer.
The different schools of the university are specked in a mile or two radius of the landmark Queen's building. I was doing accountancy, so the vast majority of my time was spent in the Peter Froggatt Centre, which had good spacious lecture halls and well equipped computer rooms.
Around campus there are good and ample computer facilites on offer in places like the Elmwood Centre and the PFC, they would be your best bet for a computer room these days as the new library is always bunged from about 10am onwards!
The new library is a wonderful building, and they are getting over initial teething problems to improve i for all.The facilities on ofer from the computers to the special collection unit are great and very useful.
For me the Accounting course was run very well, with high quality teachers and relevant, interesting materials in the core modules, it was only when doing unrllated topics that things started to get annoying!
The PEC is also great, if far more pricey now than when I begun, and the students union is also great, with a huge range of clubs and a good range of shops and bars..That hints at the only reason for me that takes a star off the university: QUB's money grabbing ways. The university is now part of the Russell group , and is seemingly determined to eek as much money from students as they can.Curb this in future Queen's and you will have an excellent university. read more
