The line is for those who is going in for a court business. The jury member pick is very systematic. In half hour, everyone has been called to drop off the jury card. A video of the selection procedure has been shown while waiting. Tv was left in while waiting for instructions. In less than hour, the selected juries has been called. In an hour, the rest has been dismissed after the confirmation that there's no need for additional jurors. Beautiful experience. Location is close to everything, bus stops, commercial stores, medical shops and retail shops. Thought I won't like this location over Kew Gardens. I was wrong. See you in 6 years !

I'm sure disaster awaits inside the glass doors but I'm held up as i near the door, my 50 prediction was pretty accurate i think to myself, Truck horns blare, car alarms sound their songs on and on in the distance. The place looks like a prison, the place across the street with the green roof looks like a prison too and so does the McDonalds on the corner. Once inside, it's "belts, watches off and empty your pockets into the bin, cellphones too" I know this routine and I'm already completed. Small claims to the right, I get in the elevator, I get out of the elevator because I do not know the way. A kind faced white shirt authoritative figure loomed ahead so I asked him of its whereabouts. Walking in, they're is one person informing the staffer of her case, she's a lawyer abd i can tell because she's speaking lawyer-ly. So I'm next and I think I'm ready, I've never sued anyone before, I did the paperwork and now it's time to slide it under the glass. One red pen appears, I get the chills having been permanently scarred from grammar school by that instrument. Those nuns sure are strict, but he wasn't and looking up at me asked for the filing fee with a nod of acceptable completion. Looking forward to my night court date in July- sure do wish I could say to the classless beast that stole my A. Lange & Sonne, " see you in court". I got the goods on him.

I also filled out the form very thoroughly as I wanted to make sure I get my full child support. My ex has never paid his share of the bills and I needed to make sure he did after our separation. He even lied about his salary. In front of my physically and mentally abusive husband, as was stated in the court papers, the judge humiliates me by saying "why did you write so much, this is ridiculous". My ex made a "now you know what I'm dealing with" face. The same face he made when he knocked me into a wall. How dare a judge, who is supposed to be a professional, make a statement like that. Take the numbers you need, plug them into the computer and keep your rude, unnecessary comments to yourself. If you don't like your job, get another one. I suggest if you experience this, you file a complaint. I wish I had. Expect to be treated rudely, mentally prepare not to respond , they seem to be looking for power plays. There is a formula for child support, look it up before you go and make sure to include all necessary parts. Ask for medical. I almost didn't get it because the judge didn't care. I asked. Ask for dental. Ask for what you need despite the rude judges. Bring something to eat, something to drink and a sweater. It's a long day of waiting. Make sure your phone is fully charged so you have something to do.

Feedback on My Recent Visit to the Surrogate's Court I would…read morelike to share a few comments about my recent visit to the Queens County Surrogate's Court. I traveled from outside the United States to submit documents for my late mother's estate. As you can imagine, losing a parent is already an emotional experience -- and adding international estate procedures on top of that is not exactly the kind of adventure anyone dreams of. Although I fully understand that the Court must follow strict procedures, my experience at the counter was unfortunately not very positive. The staff member who assisted me did not seem particularly inclined to help, and I felt that my situation as someone coming from abroad was not taken into consideration. To make things even more confusing, the forms available online appear to be outdated, yet I was told that several documents were missing -- documents that do not appear anywhere in the official checklist. At that moment, I wondered if I had accidentally downloaded the "vintage edition" of the forms. Given how complex and emotional these procedures can be, especially for grieving families, I truly believe the Court could consider creating clear, updated tutorials or step‑by‑step guides. Many people rely entirely on the information available online, and a little extra guidance would go a long way -- and probably reduce the number of puzzled faces standing at the counter. On a positive note, I want to highlight that the security personnel were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Their warm attitude was a bright spot in an otherwise challenging visit. I hope this feedback can help improve the experience for others who, like me, are doing their best to navigate the process during a difficult and sensitive time.

No one has any compassion for people who are taking a lot of time and effort out of their day to get this type of paperwork done. It's also an emotional thing, if you are are dealing with someone's estate that means they are deceased and that is difficult thing to deal with in the middle of your grief. I'm not saying the people who work here don't deal with a lot of shit, I'm sure they do, but they could be just a tiny bit more civil, HUMAN, even to people they interact with.
