Update: Choice Hotels credited us 8000 points. I have not found an area where I would want to go for those few points, so we opted for a $25 gift card to Olive Garden in exchange for the points. Not worth it to me. I will not choose Choice likely in the future. They said they cannot do refunds. My wife and I and friends have had an overall enjoyable time on our stay in Cleveland. But if there is one sore spot, it's our lodging. You can read my posts and see I usually do a good job in finding the positives in most places I frequent. And aside from the shower, I will not do that here. Quality Inn Wickliffe is without a doubt the worst overall experience I have ever had with a hotel in my 43 years on earth. This will rate as my lowest review of a place ever this far. First, the confusing check in. We wanted two rooms since double kings or queens weren't available. We ordered a room on Travelocity and tried a 2nd but had issues so we called the place. They use the same line for the Econo Lodge as the Quality Inn. So we had one room in each building. We got there and the person at the front desk had a difficult time understanding us, so he got a lady to help. We ended up getting upcharged to have two rooms in the same place. We wanted them connected but they weren't. And my key didn't work so I asked the guy to reprogram and had to go down over an hour later to remind him. And then in the morning when he finally did. As for service, it was terrible. The advertised breakfast and pool were not available, so they should take that down on their sites as that's been the case for months per them. I asked for an extra blanket and was told two different times they would get it but never did. Extra towel? No. Pillow cases for a pillow? No. My friends had their AC unit dripping causing the floor to be soaking wet in spots. Broken fixtures, phone was in pieces and the toilet seats were like the Cha Cha slide ( you'd slide to the left and slide to the right). They also had stained towels. The pictures will show what my wife and I dealt with. Stains on the walls, ceiling , picture frames, windows and mirror. Stains in the mini fridge and microwave. Dirty pillows with no pillow cases. Dirty lamp shades. A dried up jalapeno, dirt and even a beef and cheese stick from other patrons left on the floor. And mouse droppings in my sheets. The hair dryer blew a fuse, one of the sink lights was outs, and the hallway was not swept from Friday-Sunday when we got there. Overflowing trash cans in the lobby. This place was filthy. I sent a customer service complaint to their corporate office. Without a doubt, my worst experience. If they cannot get the help to clean the place (considering the taped sign on their check talks about maintaining cleanliness standards for our safety, hence no pool or breakfast), then they should close. The only reason we stayed is it was in our planned budget. Next time, I will pay more, but I shouldn't have to walk into filth because I paid less. Quality Inn? The name comes nowhere close to what we experienced. To the franchisee and corporate, would you want your most beloved staying in this? If not, don't leave it for mine or anyone else's. You should be ashamed of yourself for using the word quality in your name with this example. I would like a partial or full refund and did request such to the corporate office.

Half Eaten Beef Stick on floor from guest gone by!!!

I barely know where to begin with this review and I cannot stress strongly enough not to stay at this property. First off, it appears as though staff uses the facilities for their families personal play land. There are shirtless kids running all over the hotel and in the lobby yelling at the top of their lungs. I knew they belonged to staff because the person checking me in had to tell the kids to stop yelling and to stop interrupting or she was going to go get their mother. Now, I check into my room and Holy Crap! I had booked the King Jacuzzi Suite to have extra room. The locks were broken off the door, an electrical outlet was hanging out of the wall, there was mold on the wall and ceiling above the tub and in the refrigerator, the vacuum had not been ran and the final straw was finding a half eaten beef stick on the floor next to the bed. I called down to the front desk and the employee asked if I wanted to switch rooms. I said I would be willing if it was clean. I met her downstairs where she was in the hallway speaking to a shirtless man (I assume a boyfriend from the interaction). He was playing loud rap music with every other word being an expletive. Upon walking into the room it immediately smelled of smoke and I said I would just check out. While waiting on her to return to the lobby I was speaking with another customer when out of nowhere the first shirtless kid came running up to me asking if there was mold in my room. When I answered yes he said, "We could all die from that stuff." This ends my less than half hour stay at one of the grossest hotels I have ever been to in my life. If you check in leave your shirt at home and bring the cigars because it is anything goes at this place!!!

Our room was disgusting and smelled. We had them bring in a new refrigerator and clean up some more. But I can't unsee the disgusting filth! What happened to extra cleaning and disinfecting for Covid? I wish I had brought my cleaning supplies.

    Bathroom Ceiling over tub

I had booked this hotel for a six night stay. Check in seemed seemless but when I saw the luggage carts were worn and a bit raggedy I should have known this was not going to be very pleasant. There is no elevator so i had to carry baggage upstairs to the first floor. I dropped things off to get something to eat which was a mile away. There was noise easily heard from the room next door and hallway. The bathroom had water damage ceiling tiles. My skin was irritated by the sheets. The ironing board had mold on it and the iron was scorched. Not to mention the bathtub had a rough surface from non-adhering paint and there was dirt in the corners. I checked out the next day and asked to be refunded for the remaining nights. I am still working with expedia a week later to get things resolved.

The damage in my room was only half of the shameful state of this hotel. The extreme lack of customer service put me over the edge.

The sheer indifference presented by the desk clerk after I informed her that part of the ceiling was crumbling and falling into the air conditioner was enough for me to realize that NO one should stay here. I realize that just because a hotel uses the word quality in their name does not mean it is aptly or appropriately named. The price point was right for my situation, but I would rather spend $40-70 more just so I could receive slightly better customer service, let alone a clean room. I would NEVER recommend staying at the Wycliffe, OH Quality Inn.

This in the worst hotel I've ever encountered! The room was absolutely disgusting. First, the bathroom was filthy with mold, dirt and hair on the floor and bathtub. Also the shower curtain was broke. Second, the walls were beat up and exposed the drywall in several areas. Third, the main comforter had several greasy spots and looked as if it was NEVER washed. The sheets and pillowcases looked fine but I had the feeling they had not been changed. Both, the carpet and tile floors had not been vacuumed or mopped. And the the kicker.....there was old pizza still in the microwave and cheese in the refrigerator!

The bedding had large black stains and what appeared to be a blood stain. When I contacted the front desk to request clean linens, I was told they did not have access to housekeeping supplies. We were then moved to a different room. The second room was in even worse condition--outdated, visibly dirty, and still not representative of what was advertised. At that point, the hotel was fully booked, and we were unable to be relocated again. During the night, the fire alarms sounded and guests were evacuated. There was significant confusion, with multiple fire trucks and an ambulance on scene, and no staff available to provide direction for an extended period. We were later informed there had been a water main break, and water was actively pouring from the ceiling, flooding the hotel. The following morning, around 10:30 AM, we were finally able to speak with an assistant manager who confirmed the water had been shut off and that all guests would need to vacate the property. Although the hotel later agreed to issue a refund, they are charging 50% for the first night. Which was the night of the fire alarm/flood! Given the condition of the room upon arrival, the lack of basic accommodations, and the subsequent emergency evacuation and displacement, I do not believe any charge for that stay is justified. As a result, we were forced to secure last-minute accommodations elsewhere, incurring additional costs, including a higher room rate and parking fees. This situation significantly disrupted and ultimately ruined our weekend.

My spouse and I stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) for a week in late December-early January…read more Upon booking, we were blown away by the cost, as it was easily the least expensive option in the nearby Mayfield area. At every turn, the staff at this location were incredibly friendly: they always greeted us when we left and returned, offered help when asked, and were quick and clear in every interaction. The room was...fine. On one hand, it absolutely got the job done. On the other hand, there were problems: the bed was rather uncomfortable, the decor is quite dated, and we were not thrilled to see tons of stains on the ceiling and substantial rust forming on bathroom lights and decor. I was also rather confused about their housekeeping service (not a fault of the staff; this appears to be a structural issue) -- you have to call and speak to the front desk to get housekeeping, as opposed to other eco-friendly hotel experiences that require much less of a barrier to entry (a hangtag to flip, etc). Would we return? For the price, honestly, we might. But, I hope that this location receives some updates too, from housekeeping procedures to physical components. Please note that there is NOT a spa, and the room setups, as advertised on some third-party sites like Expedia, may not match the room you receive. We were expecting an adjacent living area in a separate room, but we were informed upon asking that this was not included in our purchase.

In the land of Motel 6, that's all a win. Yes, it's mega stripped-down: no tissues in the room, hot water tanks turned down so low that it takes about five minuted for the shower to get to "barely warm," and there's a threat to charge you ten bucks if you don't return your room keys. The woman at the desk when we checked in appeared either highly distracted or stoned, and the nightly fee is a bit higher than other budget motels. But it felt reasonably safe (never a given at this price point), we didn't see any roaches, and us and our dog babies got a decent night of rest on a king bed before hitting the road. I'm pretty sure that's what these are here for?

Payment due upon arrival. We arrived and the front desk guy says " you're reservation was canceled ". Why? "Bc your cc was declined". First of all, that's impossible. There would be no reason for any of my ccs to decline. Second, it's a pay upon arrival. What we figured out is they canceled our reservation bc the Morgan Wallen concert was happening and the hotel decided to cancel our reservation so they could open it up and charge concert goers more money for the room. I had read the reviews so I knew it wasn't going to be a Four Seasons but the property is in decline and not clean. If the lobby was in complete disarray I can only imagine what the rooms look like. Anyways, we definitely dodged a bullet. Found a way nicer place down the road.
