Quality inn? More like quality mold. It smelled so bad, super humid to where your body is just sticky the whole time, it was dirty. If you care about your health don't stay here. I told the receptionist & she literally didn't care.

This was the nicest Residence Inn I've ever stayed at! I was in the area for the holidays as my partner's family is from the Valley. I don't know much about the area but felt like we were in a good location for everything that we needed. It was super accessible to the airport, an HEB, a Starbucks and an Orangetheory Fitness. When I didn't want to leave the hotel because it was raining or didn't want to make the same mistake of driving in the wrong direction on a one way street (yikes), I didn't need to. The on-site gym was open 24 hours and had a treadmill, an elliptical machines, weights, water, and towels. The on-site and complimentary breakfast and coffee was decent (tortillas would have been nice though). And I even noticed on my room fridge a sign that said the would pick up some groceries for me if I needed. I don't know if the grocery service is true of all Residence Inn's but if not, it aligns with my experience here with the staff that was super friendly and accommodating.

So on a trip to Harlingen I checked into the Residence Inn right next to the Bass Pro Shops. Not only was the location a plus, due to Bass Pro shops being on the same parking lot, the hotel is much newer and in much better condition than the Hilton I normally stay in. Everything was high quality from my check in experience, the evening reception with food beer and wine, to the workout room which had not only treadmills but free weights as well. This far outshined the Hampton Inn that I normally stay in on Ed Carey Drive. This is a really nice hotel at a reasonable price and I would recommend to anyone: clean, quiet, comfortable, and very dark window shades to be able to sleep at night as well as in a very quiet location.

My family of four stayed here on two separate occasions - June 14 and June 20, 2019; my review…read moreapplies to both stays. Friendly check-in. Paid over $80 each night for a room with two queen beds. I'm not sure I would consider this hotel on par with its name (best value). It's a place to lay your head for a night and rinse away the perspiration after a long day of Texas heat. (Bring your own soap unless you can tolerate cheap, rough surfaced soap.) We had a difficult time sleeping here. The pillows are razor thin, you're very close to the noisy highway, and the AC is all-or-nothing: set it for 68 and runs super cold, continuously; set it for 69 or 70 and it doesn't kick on. The rooms are clean for the most part, but they appear to be quite rundown and in need of some care. For $80+/night, the owner could atleast replace the pillows, remove the sloppy paint spills from the towel racks, and maybe replace the bathroom mirrors to make them more functional. The mirrors and lighting aren't helpful if you're trying to apply makeup, shave, etc. Not sure what the free breakfast is like. Based on the quality of the room we thought it safe to assume the food would be low-quality as well. The pool looked fine. The water only looks darker because someone opted to use a darker material for the floor of the pool. Unfortunately, at first blush, the darker color makes the water appear dirty (it's not). Bottom line: There are plenty of places to stay in Harlingen; there's no need to pay America's "Best Value" Hotel's high price just to rest your head.

I recently stayed in town for a few nights and saw great reviews on this hotel on Google and figured I'd give it a try. The rooms are large and recently renovated which is a nice touch. However, I woke up with a few bites on my body and found bed bugs on the sheets. No way! On top of that, the towels and bathroom needs better cleaning as evidenced by the hair shavings left in the tub and walls. I have two stars because I did like the renovations in the rooms and the staff is kind.
