I had to ask for my room to be changed twice. The sheets were stained. there were stains in the furniture and floor. Bathroom was not clean. Roach on the wall and yet i still can't get a refund. Staff was not pleasant to my husband and even when changing rooms i still had to ask for the sheets to be changed. Apparently i can't get a refund because i stayed the whole trip. I was forced to stay because i came from out of town and i could not get another hotel. HORRIBLE !! run away ! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! If I could assign a zero star rating, I would. Room #308 had wall paper saturated with water and mold. In addition to that, there were bed bugs and fruit flies. The issue was addressed with staff who did not assign us a new room. They offered lysol toilet bowl cleaner in a coffee cup to resolve the issue. My wife and I were extremely uncomfortable and left in the middle of the night to find different accommodations. Called management the following day only to be verbally assaulted and threatened before they hung up the phone on me. Attorney General and Department of Health (Michigan) have been notified. We have stayed here before and needed a place again for a few nights. Reading the reviews I was a bit apprehensive, but remembered my last stay so booked under Choice rewards non refundable special rate. I am not sorry. The room is clean, bed extra comfy with nice sheets. There is a river next to the property and we saw deer this AM. COVID killed breakfast...but when it comes back it was nice with eggs and good coffee. The best thing was customer service last night. We were exhausted and the only credit card I have wouldn't go thru ... They let us check in and deal with payment this AM. Very patient and kind about the stressful ordeal. read more

okay SO, TLDR: do not forget your valuables at this location. I have never had such a bizarre and rude awakening at the integrity of the MANAGING staff of a hotel... We had to leave our hotel super early and I realized the next morning I left my AirPods in our room. I called the hotel and the front desk said they didn't have any AirPods (bummer, but ultimately my fault, and I was thinking maybe I just dropped them somewhere else). I thanked them for looking, then remembered I had recently added my pods to Find My. So, I check and see them at a house 10 minutes away from the hotel. I call back and tell the hotel I have an exact address, if they could see if someone that works at the hotel lives there. The front desk said they would talk to the manager and get back to me shortly. This is where the sus stuff starts. I spent almost 2 hours of my day calling back and forth with the hotel. The manager eventually calls and said that he had found my AirPods and put them in his pocket and must have forgot, so they were still in his car (??) which was at his house. TBH I was just relieved at this point, and I like believing people are good, so I was just excited I'd be able to get them back. and THEN, when I went to connect them to my phone later that night, my AirPods were completely disconnected from my account - it showed the disconnection happened at 8am that day (I've had them for almost 2 years and this has never happened). What's better, is that when I tried to reconnect them, they were named PIAS PODS. (my name is Rachel, exemplified by my individualized AirPods case that says my name) I called the next morning and talked to the manager again because renaming and disconnecting AirPods has about 7 intentional steps you have to make. He basically told me if he wanted to take them he could have just taken them, which is funny because it took me telling the hotel I have an exact address before I got any news about my headphones. He said he has a 15 year old daughter who probably was "'playing around with them" because she probably thought he got them for her. But again, the case says RACHEL on them and I'm pretty certain a 15 year old can read. He completely brushed the situation off like it could happen at any time to anyone, and also chose to throw his daughter under the bus. Again, I'm thankful I got them back but I can't even describe how uncomfortable the experience made me feel.. when you're paying money to stay somewhere you hope that the managing staff would be looking out for you, but not here!! so tread with caution :-) read more

Booked this hotel for 2 nights because of the pool. Only to be told when we arrived it was closed for maintenance and after driving 4 hours with 3 kids and arriving at 10pm we were too tired find another hotel. Very disappointing. You definitely get what you pay for with this hotel. We needed just an overnight stay due to a family function in the area. Since we wouldn't be spending much time at a hotel, we went with the inexpensive option. There are several things in our room that needed a major update - chair at the desk was peeling, overall décor was outdated, stains on the bedspread. I can live with all of that (we never use a hotel bedspread anyway), but the reason I'm giving this a 2-star review is that we found black mold in two spots in our room - in the shower and in the ice bucket (hurl). That's just being negligent on basic hygiene standards. If we were staying longer, I definitely would have informed the front desk and requested a room change. But we only slept in the room a few hours and decided not to use the shower the next morning. We came to the quality inn for our anniversary to stay and get up and shop the day away at Greatlakes crossing. We were in love with the staff from the moment we arrived! The young lady working the front desk was smiling from ear to ear and it was clear she loved her job! We got up at 6:30 am for the continental breakfast (FREE) and were amazed at the variety of food and yet again were greeted with smiles and warm welcomes from the fabulous cook!! Upon leaving our room the next day we had the pleasure of more smiles from the young ladies that were cleaning and all other hotel staff! Hands down the most pleasant staff we have ever experienced in our many years of traveling!! And the rooms were clean, hotel common areas were clean and the hotel is kept up and modernized!! Warm breakfast! Which was amazing!! Make your own waffles which my wife has never done and really enjoyed! It was the first time she made something without burning! Lol Please stop in and check it out, they has nature in their backyard. A little river and dam with geese and picnic tables through out. Clean again I can not say it enough. Too many times do I run upon something dingy and nasty at a hotel and this one did not provide the gross findings let alone a simple uncleared bathtub/toilet/fridge. Which by te way they provide fridges in every room along with the normal cable HD TV and talk ceilings which seperated ten from the rest. Be a champ and tip your staff. I'm hovering between three and four stars, but overall I had a very good experience, so sure, I'm a fan. Prices are reasonable. We had a room with two queen beds. Nothing fancy, but what you need for sleep: average beds, clean, big enough, a desk, TV, fridge. Service was super friendly and generally good. However, after I reserved one night I extended my stay another. When I checked in, no one knew anything about that, but they updated my info. The next day when I returned to the hotel, my keycard didn't work. Somehow they had lost the info about the extra day, again. Weird, but quickly fixed. The free breakfast was... worth it. Sparse and unappetizing. I grabbed something quickly and left. Free paper on weekdays. All in all a good stay, with a couple of negatives. read more

We were in town for a football tournament, I was concerned what the hotel would be since our rate was around $70. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was great in the morning. Our kids had a blast in the outdoor heated pool. Although it was 65 degrees outside, the pool was super warm. I finally was able to drag them out of the pool at 8pm. Every staff member seemed genuine in asking if there was anything that you needed or if there was anything they could do to help. We will definitely stay here again next year when we are in town!! read more

Was in town for a concert at the Auburn Hills Palace. The hotel was a nice surprise.....clean, friendly staff, decent breakfast and good location. I felt safe in the room and also in the well lit parking lot. We used the shuttle that picks up customers from the surrounding hotels and takes them to a restaurant called "Hoops" (Detroit Pistons home court is the Palace), then a 3 minute bus ride to the arena. All this for $10.00 round trip....what a deal. It would cost you more than that to park at the arena and not to mention the hassle afterwards with all the traffic. Hoops is a fun bar/restaurant and a good place to grab a bite and a drink before heading to the Palace. I would stay at the Auburn Hills Quality Inn again if I want to take in another concert. read more

Things got a little rowdy at the wedding and needless to say, we brought back a few extra people to keep the party going. The hotel was more the accommodating, set aside a private conference room for us to hang out in after the party, and even provided extra roll away beds free of charge. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel room was very clean. We had a great continental breakfast every morning. I was a guest at this hotel recently. I came in exhausted after a long day of travel, I provided my information and credit card as normal, and I signed the paperwork provided to me. Now in hindsight, it's obvious to say I should have read over the materials before signing. But I was tired. I was alone. And I trusted the service enough to assume they wouldn't be fraudulent. However, as soon as I entered my room I knew something was wrong. I had ordered a king size bed. This was a room with two queens? Okay, I thought. Maybe they made a mistake? But then I second guessed myself. Maybe I had made the mistake? I didn't know. But I was tired and I needed a shower. So I figured this was the kind of problem that could I would have to resolve at 9am when there's a full staff. Not at 9pm, like when I entered. But Management disagreed. Shortly into my sleep, I was awoken by their manager, Neil, who threatened to call the police if I didn't exit the room? What heavens, why? I thought. When unceremoniously, he let himself into the room. Now, I was ALONE. And semi-nude(I was sleeping). So of course, I was in bewilderment unsure of what the heck was going on??? I later discovered, the hotel had given me the wrong paperwork earlier that evening. Some other guest had her contract lying out and they mistook her reservation for mine. Okay. Simple mistake. But management messed up BIG TIME, and assumed I was stealing the room entirely. How?? I have no idea. But we're right outside of Detroit, after all. But the fact that they had messed up, then BLAMED ME for their simple error was genuinely erroneous. I called my son concerned that I was going to jail on a case of mistaken identity. I literally had no idea what was happening when I left that room under threat until I had an opportunity to explain myself at the front desk. And then they blamed me again for taking the wrong room! Look, I've stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world. Sometimes, mistakes happen. It's normal. This, however. F*ck this. They almost called the police on me because I was a black woman all alone in Detroit. There was genuinely no regret on their side for the way they spoke to me. Then they had the gaul to ask me to pay for my room still! Eek! Methinks not! I'm sorry Neil, but the burden of a clerical mistake is on you, not the customer. A real shame too. I was very surprised how much I didn't like this place. It had such high reviews...my guess is that many of them are fake. This is an older property at a hospitality exit off-I-75. Plenty of choices around. i went with QI cause I have a ton of points, however that proved to be a problem at the desk. I had to call it in. No walk ins with points?...20 minutes later with help from a nice guy in the Phillipines, I had a reservation. After that I got a very creepy feeling from the people behind the desk. Unfriendly? Excellent stay for a wedding! The wedding party and guest are staying across the way at a hotel double the price. I googled the arra and found the QI and read all of the positive reviews. I decided I could stay for Fri & Sat if I chose the QI for the price of the wedding party hotel and make driving easy on myself. Great decision on my part. Amanda was very helpful on check in. The room has everything you could need, not ultra plush but has many extras and very presentable building through out. Reid helped me secure my 2nd nights reservation because I had made Sat night through a 3rd party online site(which was my initial reservation and I added Fri directly through QI since the rates were so good). Busy but nice breakfast and I met a woman that saod she is a frequent guest here for business which says a lot. I heartily reccomend this QI!!! read more

I was within an hour of my destination to Oxford, MI and knew I had to stop due to exhaustion. So I searched for a nearby hotel. I did not look any further when I saw the Quality Inn of Auburn Hills' rating of 4.6 / 5 stars (253 reviews) for less than a $100 a night. All the staff was polite, courteous, professional, yet personable. They seemed to truly want my stay comfortable and memorable. Especially impressed with Brianna the evening I arrived. Upon entering the lobby, I noticed Brianna behind the desk. She was patiently dealing with an elderly client. Her focus, patience and kindness towards this man was amazing. She was genuinely as courteous and kind when I came to the desk. My check out with Miranda was equally as pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located with adequate parking, in a quiet, park like setting which appeared to be safe (i.e. cameras, well-lit and a number of exits). The hotel is clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel's exterior, lobby, halls, elevator, eating area and room were all clean. I did not have concerns about bed bugs, walking on the carpet, or using the coffee pot. I had a comfortable king sized bed with 5 comfy pillows. The linens and towels were all clean, bright white and soft. The room offers a lot of outlets, good lighting and a large office desk / office area. Lovely window view of trees! I took a photo of the pool area from the crystal clean room window. No additional charge for the following: A phenomenal hot or cold breakfast; Fast consistent Internet, Iron / board, fridge, blow dryer, flat screen TV (wide selection of channels) and more. Assured the lock/key worked every time for entry to room building and pool was another plus! I see now why this hotel has a very high rating. Very unimpressed with this hotel. We were greeted by the aroma of cigarettes immediately upon entering the lobby and much to our dismay- the smell continued through the entire hotel. It was only complimented by the smell of marijuana once on the second floor. The room had stained sheets, no hot water, and terrible tiny pillows. We will not be back. All of these great reviews were misleading. The hotel proudly displays all of their accolades but none were more recent than 2016. Very disappointed. Two day stay. Morning after our first night went to take a shower and the showers had no handle. Could still turn it on with nub where handle attaches but could not change temperature. It was scalding hot so had to switch rooms. They had us take all of our belongings to the lobby then back up to a different room on the third floor. In this room the tv did not work. And both mornings there were no eggs on breakfast bar. They had forgotten to order any. They did discount $30 off room for inconvenience of switching rooms. But over all it was kind of dirty, smelled weird and we were not impressed. And we usually LOVE Quality and Comfort Inns. Would not recommend this one. read more

Great hotel! My family stayed at the Quality Inn as we were visiting friends and attending a wedding. I was very pleased with the service we received right from check in. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast blew me away! I expected a continental breakfast but, it was an impressive spread with waffles we could make ourselves! My husband and I came for a wedding. After checking out of the Met hotel after one truly horrible night, we scrambled to find a nearby, nice hotel with reasonable rates. We ended up choosing Quality Inn, and we're thrilled. The hotel was very well kept - clean and well decorated. They had cookies at check in, but the best part was the super friendly staff. I can't say enough about them. Both when we left to go to and came back from the wedding, they made an effort to tell us how beautiful and handsome we looked. Whether it's from training or just them being generally really kind and lovely people, their staff is amazing! My friends stayed at this hotel and were treated rudely by the owner, Neil. The room bathroom toilet had urine stains and the shower was dirty. My friends, who are Black professionals, asked for the room to be changed given the conditions. He asked "Have you destroyed them room.? What have you done to it? I have to go up there and look." He said, "People come to their hotel and abuse the system, destroy stuff and want to be refunded their money so, he wanted to check what we had done to the room before moving us to another room". Neil informed them he would have to go look at the room to see what they "did to it" and accused them of "abusing the system". When they were moved to a new room, this room had stains on the sheets. They informed Neil that they would not stay the next night due to the conditions and were told that they were "abusing the system" and that he would give them a discount, but would not refund their money. They went to the nearby Holiday inn and had a much better experience their second night. This type of racist behavior is not acceptable. read more
