I first noticed this place due to all the great reviews on Yelp. So I requested a quote and got a pretty quick response. I finally took my car in about a week later to get it checked. When I arrived I was promptly greeted by Luis and asked me what I needed done on my car. I told him and he remembered that I had requested a quote from him. I needed to get my breaks checked and I explained the noises that they were making. Concerned for my safety driving a car he wasn't sure of how bad the issue was he told me to wait and he'd check my car ASAP. He checked it and told me what work needed to be done and gave me my options of price points depending on parts. I made my decision and he got to work on it. Now it did take some time but considering I went there without an appointment it was done fairly in good time. When he was done he provided a detailed receipt of what was done to my car and offered warranty on the parts. He also told me if I hear any noises that I was concerned about to just bring it to him ASAP and he would fix it. I was really happy with the price and even more so with the service that I quickly called my husband and told him to bring in his car to get his serviced as well. Brought in my 2007 Toyota Sienna for a check engine light. After talking over what was happening with my van, with Isaias, he had a pretty good idea what it might be. He gave me a diagnosis quote and a complimentary ride home (since I lived close by). He called later to confirm what he had suspected was true, and an exact estimate to fix it. Excellent service and very ethical business. I came in for some auto issues, that luckily turned out to be minor. The owner was so great, that he fixed my problem and didn't even charge me because he said my issue was minor and easy enough to solve. Luis is great! He listens to what you have to say. I called him up about 10am to see if he could fix a turn signal switch (not the blinker the actual lever on the steering column) and asked if he could get it fixed within the same day. Sure thing I already have my car back by 2pm. This was a very minor issue, but I have had my car there for other repairs in the past and he truly is Quality Automotive with good work, fast service and a fair price. Fantastic place run by helpful and honest folks who were a huge help while we were in the area visiting Sequoia. After driving up to the park on our first day, I noticed a radiator leak in my Civic, as well as a troublesome rattling noise. We drove back towards Visalia and called Quality Automotive after finding their stellar Yelp reviews. The gentleman we spoke with, Isaias, offered to have a look on the spot, then diagnosed a cracked radiator, although we weren't able to reproduce the rattling. I'd also lost a lot of oil, which he topped off (even before we'd asked for repairs) and said they could look at as part of their normal check-up when doing service. We ended up leaving the car and renting a vehicle nearby for our two days in the park, which worked great. I called from the park to get an update and was given the complete picture--normal oil loss for old engines, recommended new spark plugs, the cost for those, and so on. During the whole process Isaias was extremely clear about all of the options: the labor cost, the various part options (OEM vs. aftermarket parts, etc.), and the outlook with and without having service done there. Isaias also found the rattling noise, which was a loose exhaust shielding, and fixed it up with a hose clamp--just what I would have done, if I'd been able to find it. And, on top of that, we picked up the car on the way back West to find that they'd even tightened up the brakes and parking brake cable without my mentioning them at all! This was a wonderful experience during what could have been an entirely frustrating diversion from our family vacation. read more

I totally agree with the previous review. Luis, owner, is a great guy to deal with. He is honest, doesn't try to over charge or install stuff you don't need. After he diagnoses the problem, he always call to let you know what needs to be fixed, and how much parts and labor will cost. The team at Quality Automotive is just awesome! I Took in my 1999 plymouth neon for lots of repairs, it was an all day job but they made it fun and gave me a ride to the mall while they worked on my car, they also have a nice little waiting room. Customer care is very good here and so is their work, I very much like the detailed paper work, with some auto shops its hard to read what they wright down so at quality automotive they also wright it down in their computer and print it out for you. maybe all shops do this now i don't know but i still like it. They called me over and pointed out some things that needed attention witch i had already suspected like the engine mount witch was 100% totally shot among other things. I brought in my car Friday afternoon because it was making a rather alarming rattle whenever i accelerated through a turn. They diagnosed the problem (CV joints on both axles were toast), quoted me a price (at the lower end of the range I was expecting/fearing), and upon my agreement got it fixed that same afternoon. When I came in to pick it up, the young lady went over the invoice with me (price was exactly as quoted) and asked me if I had any questions for the technicians--I said that I didn't, and made to leave when one of the technicians called out to me from the shop floor and asked if I wanted to see or take the old parts with me--he then showed me the parts, which were clearly in the condition he had described to me earlier on the phone (old, torn boots had allowed the grease to leak out at some point in the past and led to the degradation of the joints, with failure likely imminent. I was impressed with the professionalism and customer service. The technician also alerted me to a potential future problem (quite worn engine mounts) just to alert me. He seemed surprised when I asked what it would cost to replace and said he would have to put together a quote and call me--leading me to believe he had not been trying to unnecessarily 'upsell' me on something. I would say the (so far) unanimous 5 star rating this business has is well deserved. I will definitely be using their services going forward. read more

We were out of town for a road trip when our check engine light turned on. Naturally, we freaked out. So, we hustled to come right when the shop opened. Luis was more than welcoming and reassured us that he'd check it out. In less than 10 minutes, he diagnosed us really quickly and actually found out our sensors were simply dirty, thus the check engine light. I was stranded in Visalia on my way to the mountains in my 1997 Trooper. My power steering belt broke, and by good fortune, I called Luis at Quality Automotive. I nursed my car over to his clean, spacious shop with a nice air conditioned office. He was busy, but fit me in because he knew I was trying to get to the mountains that day, and definitely needed functioning, reliable power steering on the windy mountain roads. The shop is family owned and operated. Luis and his son took a look under the hood and quickly realized that it was not just the belt, but that the power steering pump itself had siezed and needed to be replaced. If he had just put on another new belt, it would have suffered the same fate as the previous one. Luis called around and found a reconditioned pump from a nearby parts dealer, but told me that it would take a few hours to get the part and replace it. I decided to rent a car (Hertz and Enterprise are within walking distance) and transfer all of our gear (backpacks, etc) and leave the car with Quality automotive. I was in the shop, problem diagnosed, and back on the road with the rental within 90 minutes. When I got down the hill a four days later, the car was ready to go, and the total bill was only $242.50. I'm sure I would have paid quite a bit more at some of the name brand companies (Pep Boys, etc.) on Mooney Boulevard, without the personal care and attention I received at Quality Automotive with Luis and family. The car ran fine all the way back to Pismo Beach. The replacement pump has a 90 day warranty on it. If I lived closer, Quality Automotive would be my new regular mechanic. Now I know where to go if I ever have need of an honest, reliable quality mechanic in the Visalia area. read more

I like to give people a fair shot before reviewing them. So after two years and having, I believe all five of our family's cars worked on here, I give Luis and Crew 5 well deserved stars. Most important, I believe they run an absolutely honest shop/business. They have never tried to sell me what I didn't need. Their estimates are accurate, the work completed on time and correctly. Have not had to have anything redone. The repair work is absolutely priced fairly in my opinion. I have always dreaded having to take vehicles into a shop for repair. Not anymore. I still don't like paying to fix cars, but here it is not the dreaded feeling of always being scammed as it is with most other shops with which I have dealt.
