This place is a real gem. Tucked in the middle of the Wilmington Village Historic District, this art, crafts, and sweater gallery is owned by a fantastic woman from Scotland. She's been in the community for years and is the perfect piece to fill out a commercial district with a variety of specialties to offer. This place has collections of curated works from select artists, each having their own medium: paintings, metal/glass work, knitting, jewelry, etc. And they are all gorgeous. I particularly love the arts & crafts-style stained window ornaments, which are especially apropos during this season. She also sells a few knickknacks including toys and greeting cards. While this has been a great season for business, she mentioned possibly closing for the winter because of all the folks coming to Vermont and not taking quarantining seriously. I found this shop while I was in town taking a stroll. Fortunately, the shop was open when I walked on by it. There were many creative local crafts along with some Scottish item. Clothes, ceramics, soaps, lotion, greeting cards, photography and other artwork was available. The sales associate and I had a provocative and spicy conversation about a variety of subjects. Awful experience at this shop. Immediately upon entering the store the owner began to disrespect my friends and I, saying young peoples had a lack of appreciation for the arts. Made snarky comments like "you wouldn't know" or "wouldn't understand art". Very offensive considering we all have an appreciation for the arts. For someone who sells children toys she has no tolerance for children in her store even when they touch a wooden ornament that has no chance of breaking. We live in the community and will not return. It is unfortunate since we do most of our holiday shopping in her too expensive store but usually support local stores. Store owner needs some manners. read more
