Let me start at the beginning (it's a very good place to start, if The Sound Of Music taught me anything through song, which it did). I got a pink flyer in the mail saying 20% off dental treatments, and no gap payments (health funds accepted). I thought, Ben ol' son, that sounds like a great deal. So I made a booking. I forgot the postcard, but they gave me the 20% off anyway. Legends! Dr Courtney was uhhhh-mazing. Wonderful patient manner, she explained everything, was gentle, informative and is pretty much my new BFF. They have the very latest equipment, including an awesome TV screen with undersea scenes on to distract you from whatever you're having done. They also take photos of your teeth and put them on the TV for you to look at to explain what's going on. Long story short, I'm a grinder and need to get a mouthguard. Curse you, teefs!

Ohhhh no, they gotta wipe out your weekend, little bastards. I high-tailed it down to the brand spanking new (mmm, smell that paint, almost as good as unleaded petrol, amiright?) NIB health centre in Chatty. Half of it is optical, the other half dental. After 20mins wait I strolled in to see Dr Jian Ng, a prince amongst men and a king amongst dentists. Dude was super dooper friendly, and even though years of dental brutaliy have numbed me to the terrors of needles and drills, if I had any concerns this chap would have allayed them. When the needles went into my gums he patted me on the head and as he extracted my errant enamel he crooned soft Chinese lullabies. Didja hear that? He sung to me. Literally sung to me. If he wasn't busy working in my mouth I would have reached up and hugged him like the mother I never had. (Sorry Mum.) He even gave me the tooth to take away with me, roots and all. After my member discount, they only slugged me came $91. Bargain. Little known fact: this ain't just for NIB members! Anyone can visit. You might not (er, will not) get the discounts NIB members get, but hey. Teef need fixin', right?
