I accidentally stumbled upon this place one night because it was the only nail salon I could find that was open past 7-7:30. I believe they're open til 8 or 8:30. Fantastic, friendly, & prompt. I always get right in & they do such a great job! They even give u a small hands on back massage while u are getting your nails done. I always get shellac mani & regular pedi. Most places charge about $60-65 this service, they only charge $50-55. This is now my go-to nail salon. read more

I went to Q Nails today with a friend and got completely ripped off, what they advertise as a "Gel Manicure" is in reality a very short mediocre manicure, in which they use gel polish from what I understand? The process cost me $30, if I had known better I would have gotten a basic manicure for $12, because my nails look exactly the same... Horrible. Inexperienced technicians who apply gel and powder too thickly and tell me "that's how it is" when I complain. Their hygiene is also suspect. No autoclave in sight for the sterilization of their instruments. They ruined my nails and wouldn't give me my money back. I've gone to Q nails a few times and generally am not satisfied. The appearance of the salon is cluttered and run down. Half of the nail polish selection looks like the same beige color from being left out in direct sunlight over a long period of time. The massages are nice but the nail technician usually screams across the room to carry on their conversation in their native language throughout its duration. Did I mention that they do not speak English? It's a struggle to communicate with them about services, preferences and most importantly- price. The technicians have all been rough, nearly pulling my fingers out of their sockets or grabbing at my ankles to pull the rest of my body closer during a pedicure. The last time I went, the technician could not communicate with me if the price she was charging on my card was including the tip or not. When I handed her cash as a supplement to the tip she scoffed and actually laughed at the $5 bill. Their price isn't competitive enough to act the way they do. I have been going here for nearly 5 years. We used to live in the Southpark area and despite moving all the way to Mountain Island Lake... I STILL come here. I have tried FOUR different places near my home and am always seriously disappointed when my gel polish is lifting and peeling or chipping in 7-10 days. No matter which of the ladies at Q Nails does it... it always lasts at least 3 weeks and looks flawless... its amazing! I would have given 5 stars, I only wish they were larger, they get super busy and sometimes I know I cant wait. They are soo good about doing my nails at the same time as my toes though-- I really do love them!! read more

Went here for the first time today because I wanted to surprise my mom with a mani/pedi and a couple services for myself. Needless to say I don't think I will ever come back. I had high hopes for this place and was utterly disappointed. Their prices are actually really good and affordable, but from the moment I walked in the door to the time I left, I was very unimpressed. I felt very uncomfortable the whole time I was there and it was blatantly obvious they were talking about my mother and I. Obviously they were talking in another language, which is fine, but its easy to tell when someone is talking about you which is not fine. They are unapologetically rude and nonchalant about displaying poor customer service. Last evening a co-worker and I went to Q Nails, for the first time, for manis and pedis. I sat down before my co-worker and begin soaking my feet. The technician sat in front of me with her work station, but didn't start working with me right away. However, when my co-worker sat next to me the technician slide over and begin removing her toenail polish immediately. My co-worker and I looked at each other, then she asked who would be helping me, the technician said, someone will be with her soon. Meanwhile, one technician was watching tv, while two other technicians were working with one customer. Hmmm???? Again, neither of us had ever been to this salon before so I'm curious as to what made the technicians behave that way. Did I look familiar, someone she'd had a bad experience with? Did I appear (in my corporate attire) incapable of paying for my services? Or was it because I am African-American and my co-worker is not? I don't know. In any case, I removed my feet from the water, slide my shoes on, told my co-worker (who was equally as confused) that I'd see her tomorrow and walked out. It was very disappointing and hurtful. Do not go here! Please go literally ANYWHERE else. I took my grandmother there on Saturday and I regret it. One of the young women giving pedicures had a little mini breakdown, jumped up crying and ran to the back. This was followed by loud conversation between all employees, not in English. I wanted a full set. When she said to go wash my hands I was stunned. I graduated from Aveda and have my cosmetology license. By no means am I a pro at nails, but I have certainly been around my share of girls and our nail shapes, issues, colors and trends. The nails that were stuck to me failed on all counts. My brand new thumb nail was lifting in the corner and I wasn't even out of the chair! Some of them looked like I needed a fill-in. And when I complained she argued back. Meanwhile, my 94 year old grandmother said her toes were hacked into and her feet were so sore after we left that she had trouble walking later. One nice women did offer to fix my nails, but we had been there for two hours, my grandmother was uncomfortable to say the least and I was just over the entire thing. Some man came swooping through the door like he lays golden eggs for fun and wiped my halfway soaked off nails down w a paper towel and I got my grandmother and our things and left. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever. Do yourself a favor and unless you like to pay for half-ass nails and crappy service, find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money. LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE - even Pet Smart would be a better way to pay for a manicure. These people at Q Nails do not deserve it. read more

UN-sanitary! I would have left right away, but I was already into the manicure when I noticed the dirty floors and dirty tables. The lady who was working on my manicure had an open cut/rash on her hand and should definitely been wearing a pair of gloves. Not very nice...I have been twice because I am in need of a good manicurist. This makes the 4th salon in my area and still no luck!!!! Anyway, the owner is "barky" if that makes sense...she is very stern and abrupt and in the middle of my 2nd drying session she yelled at me "You pay now!". I kinda looked at her like lady..calm down and get out of my face with the yelling. My first visit was similar she abruptly kicked me out of the massage chair after my pedicure and barked, "you sit in there!". Instead of sitting I just walked out the front door. I feel compelled to do a review on this shop that I didn't even use and that wasn't my choice. I totally agree with the other yelper that 1 star is too generous. I have a chipped acrylic toe nail and needed it filled in. I went to Q Nail because my typical shop is being renovated. I signed in and explains what I needed. The older woman was ready to assist and told me to pick out a nail polish. I explained that I have gel polish on. Upon removing my shoe to show her the color, she stated that she didn't have that color in house. AMAZING that you know ALL the colors you have and can't appease me or try to find one that closely resembles the one that I have. She stated that I would have to get a new color on all of my toes. I didn't have the time nor the money nor the desire for all of my toes to have new polish. I then asked to see her gel selections and found at least two colors that matched the polish currently on my toes. When I informed the older woman that one of the colors matched the color on my toes and told her that I didn't want to have new polish on my toes, only the chipped toe, she looked at my chipped toe and stated that she would not be able to do my fill in. I understand that businesses need to make money, but to blatantly lie and then to refuse service because I only need one quick and inexpensive treatment is petty, dishonest, and sad. Maybe it's a blessing that they refused to help me based on the reviews from other people. read more

I always make an appointment just because they can get busy, but appointments are easy to get. I often call same day and get an appointment. I especially love Tony, Tammy, Tracey, and Karen and highly recommend asking for them. But whoever you get will be great.
