We stopped here near the end of our day after touring Obidos, Nazare, and Alcobaça. We needed a…read morebreak so we ordered some pastries and espresso. First off, it was almost impossible to decide WHAT pastries to try because the all looked amazing.
Wifey ordered a pastry called Delicia do Convento and I had an Encharcada which is another egg custard recipe. Both were, as expected, amazing. The Portuguese really know how to do pastries.
While we saw an amazing and really old monastery in Alcobaça, the half-hour we spent chatting, drinking espresso and tasting pastries was pretty awesome. Pastelaria Alcoa is definitely a place to stop!
