Management here is awful. My son lost his glasses here and he told me that the staff was being so rude to him when he was looking for them. I gave them a call the next day and sure enough, the manager seemed annoyed that I was asking about them. I had to check this place out for myself, considering I myself am a restaurant owner and Bed & Breakfast owner, and yes, the manager (maybe owner) is a brat. The food was good, the staff was nice, but how he treats his staff is uncalled for. What a man-child. I also had to report him for letting underage drinkers come to the bar. I've been coming to pyramid for years and Wednesday night would be my official LAST NIGHT supporting this business!!!!!!!!!!! A few weeks prior to Wednesday my friend and I came on a slow Tuesday night and ordered a hookah & 6 patron & pineapple & 2 shots. THE LIQUOR IS FAKE!!!! 100%!!!! Although I have been bartending for over seven years and have tasted Patron well over 1000 times I thought something was wrong with me at first but we both knew this was not really patron. Now when I tell you we both were extremely sick after this I mean both of us SICKKKKKK. After that experience I really did not want to go back however my friend had her uncles come in from out of town and they wanted to go somewhere and I figured since this place is close to me I would suggest it. So my friends did end up going, I was the last one to get there when I walked in I spoke to the manager/owner not really sure what his position is at this place. He knows who I am very well because he used to come to my bar all the time. I had a one on one conversation with him about my experience of being so sick and he acted like he was apalled. Telling me it could've been the juice that was expired it could've been the gun because they use that to put the juice basically giving me every excuse he could but never saying it's the liquor which we both know it is. I told him I would not be having patron again and asked what other tequila do you have?? He listed all these tequilas but again I'm here on a dead Wednesday there was only two other tables which doesn't mean anything but it will if you keep on reading..... I told him that I wanted the Don Julio but instead of pineapple juice make it with sprite. I had three when the bill came this man truly charged me for 1942!!!! I never said once out of my mouth that I wanted 1942 I stated Don Julio I know how to order drinks very well and I know how to take drink orders so I was very confused about how I ended up "supposedly" getting 1942. When I told him about his mistake he didn't accommodate me in no way He never once said I'll take a drink off or heres a free shot anything he said nothing he took my money he gave me two dollars and change and sent me on my way. He actually tried to confuse all of us by saying "yeah it's the same price" same price as what? so I ended up paying $100 for three drinks that came in a plastic cup!. So you mean to tell me that you charge $30 for one drink and you're going to serve it in a plastic cup filled with ice I cannot and I will not support this business ever again and I will be sure to tell everyone my experience to save them the time of experiencing fake liquor and poor service. I haven't been to many hookah bars, but from what I know and what my friends told me. Pyramid's hookah is at a pretty reasonable price. Also the flavor of the hookah is pretty flavorful. They have a lot of unique flavors too. Their drinks are pretty strong. They use top self liquor for their cocktails. We got their loaded cheese fries, which took forever to come out. Almost 30 mins. The bouncer is a problem. I approached with my friends and the bouncer asked us are we going to be buying a drink. I jokingly asked him is he going to buy me one as I was surprised by the question. He proceeded to mature faces and ask me can I buy my own drink. I said I could but asked why is he making faces. He said you could not tell me what to do. I told him that he could say no and smile and not have an attitude. He then said well you don't have to come in here and refused my patronage. It was early for us after dinner so we headed over to Pyramids where my favorite sisters popped my cherry. I was always skeptical to try because of my asthma but I overcame that little fear tonight. There's a bouncer to check Ids before you can enter which is understandable yo. The place was packed and few tables spread out. I asked a guy how we can get a table and it was like a 15-20 mins wait as my friends ordered some drinks by the bar. We stood for a little bit and finally got a table. We ordered a Grape Flavor hookah and of course took selfies to record my cherry being popped yo hehe. The music is pretty kick and and me and my girls definitely had an amazing time. Patron is ALWAYS my drink of choice. I ordered a Patton with a splash of pineapple. I don't know what the waiter brought back but it tasted like $5 vodka and was for sure NOT Patron. I am 100% positive that was not patron. I've heard of bars selling customers fake liquor. I can't confirm if it was "fake" Patron but I can confirm that it was absolutely not Patron. The drinks were HORRIBLE and tasted like cough medicine. I did not bother to go back and forth with the waiter about the drinks because I was just over it at that point. I didn't even drink my drinks and instead ordered a bottled water. The hookah was just okay then got dead after about 20 mins. The waiter didn't offer me a different drink or even ask if I'd like something else nor did anyone come to refresh our coals to the hookah. I did not order food so I cannot rate that part. Service was otherwise cool. I came with friends on a Saturday night, the DJ wasn't good at all. He kept unplugging his laptop and the entire place would get silent and stared at him. If your looking for a cool hip hop/ r & b vibe, this is NOT the place. I suggest finding another spot along the strip. People are spending their hard earned money to come out to support an establishment, the least they could do is provide quality drinks. Unfortunately, it a big NO for me. It felt stupid good to be doing hookah again (don't judge me, I'm Persian after all - it's in my blood!!!). My group ordered one with melon, and one with mint and grape. I normally hate mint, but this one was subtle and perfectly mixed with the grape that I very much enjoyed it. It didn't make my throat scratchy either after they changed coals. Atmosphere was, at least on a Sunday evening, quiet, low-key, and empty. Hip-hop was playing in the background. Dim lights. Good place to bring a girl, if you're not trying to wife her up. I also got a cosmo, but it was too strong for me. I stuck to the smoke. I'd recommend Pyramids for a relaxed couple of hours if you don't want to go all the way to Astoria. read more

SUCH a Bell Blvd hookah bar. It's a true stereotype of what the night scene is like in the area. Music is blasting, but it's rarely ever filled. The hookahs are reasonably priced (I paid $15 for the cheapest one) and they have a great selection of flavors you can also mix and match (I combined rose and mint). The service is slow and wishy-washy, but I think that's because they're more focused on the bar part rather than the hookah. Overall, I'm glad I found out about this spot since the one closer to me is no longer around. The place is a good size with a good number of tables but I went on a Friday and it got really packed but surprisingly me & my girls were able to snatch up a table with the quickness; since its a popular place, once people sit its rare that they'll get up and you'll just have to stand the whole night. The spot gets full really early. They stopped letting people in after 12 as it was full to capacity. Drinks, however, were on the weaker side. The hookah flavors are plentiful. My friends and i got mint. They do have 4-5 beers on draft. Rebel IPA is a solid draft choice. The service is mixed. The server was all over the place (i blame the fact that she was the only one working the tables). There was a guy coming with new coals every so often to replace the hookahs. That was great service there. My only gripe was hunting down the server when we wanted to close the tab. I came here with a friend on a Sunday night just looking for a chill place to hang out and chat. When we got in the music was a bit loud considering the place wasn't really packed. This place has pretty standard hookah prices that you ordinarily find anywhere else. I ended up ordering the blue mist hookah and it came out quickly and tasted great. The servers were nice and weren't reluctant to change out coals which is always a plus for me! Best decision ever, although we arrived around 1030 and had to wait roughly 25 minutes for a table it was well worth the wait. Once we sat down, we got our menus and ordered a cranberry vodka.. Man it was delish I think our bartender was Nikki, she was awesome. Friendly and did an amazing job with our drinks. We had 4 during the whole night. we also ordered a mint hookah and that lasted around an hour or so and we did a refill. In total the 4 drinks hookah and refill and the automatic 18% gratuity we spent $74 but had an amazing night with amazing music delish drinks dancing and good hookah. I never had this flavor before but it was good. I didn't have any food or drinks here so I cannot say how that is. The music was good, old and new school Hip Hop and R&B played. I give it 3 stars as hookah lounges I have been to on Steinway gives you tongs to fix charcoal to your liking and they also come around every 30 mins to change the charcoal.
