Avoid this place. My experience there was terrible and it is still not resolved. The place was nearly empty but the staff still couldn't handle our party. Initially told by the waiter and the manager that they could split our bills out amongst all of our party. This was before we ordered. When it was time for the bill the waiter came with one bill and simply said the manager changed it, without telling anyone in our party. This was also a new waiter, the person who took our order had disappeared and handed our table over to someone else. The food was horrible. We did the $40 deal. I had wings as a starter, over cooked, small, over sauced. For a main I had the Lucky chicken sandwhich. It was a disappointment. More bread than anything else. The only redeeming thing were the fries. Other members of my party had similar experiences with their food. The mini golf wasn't any better of an experience. Had to find someone to log into the system. The place was empty and the staff non existent at best. Played 2 holes of golf before the scoring system crashed at which point we gave up on keeping score. Which was fine because the AC was barely functioning and the place was uncomfortably warm. No one ever approached me or my party while playing mini golf to ask if we needed anything. The evening eventually ended, so I thought. Halfway home a charge on my card appeared on my phone. Puttery charged nearly the entire party's bill to my card. This was after I had paid my fraction and signed a CC slip. I called their customer service and while the agent was polite, they were not very helpful, repeating that it was likely a hold and I would likely get it back from my bank in a few days. Why I was charged nearly the whole party's amount was never explained. So now I'm dealing with the bank waiting to see what will happen and if I will get my money back. Avoid this place. The food is mediocre Sysco product at best. The service was just bad. I am waiting to see what the actual charge will be on my card and if Puttery will release the money they have over charged me. An amount more than 10 times what I agreed to and signed off on. read more

We came here for dinner not to play miniature golf. The drinks were good and the service was amazing. I ordered the Cajun pasta and that was salty in my opinion. Also they had an event so we sat in the rooftop. My friend had the burger and it was good. The drinks were quite delicious a good balance of alcohol and mix. I would definitely be back to play golf. I did want to try the other bars on the different floors but by the time we got our food and ate it was closing. The place looked great and I would order another food item. read more

I came here for a holiday tasting event that I thought was exclusive to the members of a chamber of commerce I belong but it apparently was open to others since I saw a few PR reps in attendance. I had no idea there was a miniature golf course accessible by subway and that could be hip but this manages to do just that. Their rooftop bar on the top floor was gorgeous and I got some cool selfies while I also sat in a swinging chair and amused myself spinning in it. Food was plentiful and delicious and the courses look really cool. I didn't play any miniature golf since I didn't have any team to play with but it feels like this would be a great date night place covering both casual and dressy all at once. If I get someone offering to take me out, I'll definitely consider suggesting this place as a possibility. read more

After much excitement hearing about Puttery's NYC debut, we booked tickets to come on opening weekend. Because of the rain, the venue was surprisingly quiet. It almost felt like a soft opening which gave us ample opportunity to explore the space. Floor 1: Check in and free coat check Floor 2: Nine holes with an Apres Ski theme and a dining area Floor 3: Nine holes with an ancient civilization theme and a larger dining area Rooftop: Outdoor lounge and bar with views of the highline and water Each round of golf is $25 per person. While the courses were well short, each one was fun and challenging. What makes Puttery different is the detail to its theme and the abundance of photo worthy props. You can stand behind a chariot, ride a snowmobile, sit on a plush royal chair, or a ski lift. There is also a roaming photographer who snaps photos of your group and tries to sell you the framed hardcopies for $20. This almost felt like a theme park. Thankfully the turnout was light today so we did not feel rushed as we played both courses. Personally, I thought the 3rd floor course was more detailed. There are also "themed" cocktails exclusive to each floor's mini golf section. I ordered the King Tut from the 3rd floor which I would not recommend if you're not a diehard fan of tumeric. Fortunately the exclusive cocktails on the second floor were better. With the Gummi Bear you can keep the hard plastic bear shaped container it comes in. Great spot to drop by for an indoor rainy day activity or when it's nicer to come by for a drink on the rooftop. Overall our group of five spent 1.5 hours here playing both rounds of mini golf and exploring the space while having two cocktails per person (one per course). read more

This place is so weird. When we checked-in, the host gave us a rundown of where things were in the building. She pointed out that she "would not recommend" dining with them, which seems like a poor way to start things off. The women's restroom was in a seriously abysmal state, we're talking someone had a bit too much fun and no one had tended to the situation (even during the 1.5ish hours we spent there). The vibes on the courses are just weird, too. The courses themselves don't make a ton of sense, some are frustratingly difficult, and the aux was blasting some pretty annoying rap. No one really seems to care about organization or cleanliness (BBQ sauce fingerprints on the scoring screens) either, so be prepared to make your own fun here. This is in comparison to the awesome time I had at Swinger's Nomad about a year ago. So, if you're between Puttery and Swingers, save yourself the "what is even going on here" moments and go to Swingers. P.S. I accidentally left my phone at the host stand for a while during my visit (oops!), and when I went to snag it back, found pictures and videos of other Puttery visitors in my camera roll. DISAPPOINTED IN FOOD: We went to Rory's restaurant (I believe that's the name of the place, since the food menu was the same for both the rooftop and the 3rd floor) after playing mini golf at Puttery (New York location), and unfortunately, the dining experience was disappointing. I ordered the surf and turf, and one of the sides included a potato that was visibly rotten--even though it was already cut open. My boyfriend and I were honestly shocked that it was served in that condition. He eventually got the waiter's attention, who took the potato away. A manager came over and asked, "Is there a problem?" and offered to remake the potato. But by then, I had eaten the rest of the dish and wasn't interested in just the potato anymore. Then the manager asked if we had done the mini golf (which is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors), and after we said yes, he just replied, "Well, let me know if I can do anything else for you." That was it--no sincere apology, no real effort to acknowledge the issue or make it right. As customers, we would at least expect some kind of discount or compensation. Not everyone feels comfortable asking for compensation in these situations, so we just said thank you and left. But honestly, it felt like the easiest possible way out of taking any accountability. Disappointed, especially considering the atmosphere and pricing. That said, the mini golf itself on the 2nd and 3rd floors was great--we had a lot of fun! Just a tiny suggestion: it would be really cute if the scorecard printed automatically after the courses as a keepsake. read more

Oh boy. $97 for 2 mini golf courses, and $58 for one is insane, I'll start there. All the stations were hardly manned--the guy at the front kept disappearing, the people at the course entrances were not there initially, so really anyone could've just walked in. The course itself, was so weird and felt like it was designed by someone who had never played mini golf in their life. I think ONE course had a ridge, but all the others did not, so the ball just rolls out into other people's courses which is really annoying. Overall, stressful vibes in there. read more

I'm leaving this 1 star review as the manager I talked to last night encouraged us to do so. We made a reservation online and paid in advance for our group to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday. We showed up at the time of our reservation and were told we would have to wait (likely around a few hours) to play. When we asked about our reservation they said it basically doesn't matter and that it's still first come first serve. They gave us a few options: 1. Wait in line for a few hours and play 2. Receive a voucher to come back at another time to play 3. Inquire about a refund They also said that the refund will take around 4 weeks to get in touch with anyone. This seems like a really disorganized system and a rip off. Here's hoping we get our money back and next time we want to play mini golf in the city, we'll go to Swingers. Yikes. read more

Misleading photos! Many of the photos on the Yelp page are NOT of the course/location. Actual location looks totally different from these photos! Pretty disappointing minigolf experience overall, the courses were small, cramped, poorly lit, poorly designed, not well maintained. Many of the courses were badly damaged/broken. The scoring system was difficult to use and buggy. Holes were not well marked. Bar service was slow and inattentive. Much too expensive for what you're getting. Try Swingers Club instead. I didn't try the food, the drinks were fine but also overpriced imo. Anyway who goes to minigolf for the food??? There's so many good restaurants in Manhattan lol. read more

Cocktails were yummy; good price for nice tasting cocktails. Names were creative and they had accurate descriptions. I would highly recommend gummy bear and The Last Diner if you enjoy sweet drinks. The margarita standoff is exactly what you expect from a spicy margarita. Museum course was aesthetically more pleasing and slightly more interesting but the lodge course was longer. The service was really great. The front desk offered coat check, which was very helpful. The waitresses, bartenders, and the employees who checked us in were all helpful and kind. Wanted to do this with my bestfriend because it looked like a nice, "something different" kind of experience. We did the Museum themed course. Upon arrival to the 2nd floor, no one greeted us. The host was at the bar, looked at us then turned away. Since this was our 1st time here, we were clueless on how to start. Since the host did/said nothing, we started walking into the course. That is when she walked over to us to take out tickets and sign us in. There are a lot of nice photo ops but none of the staff are present to take pics of you so be mindful of that. If you want group photos its unlikely. When we finished & went to the restaurant area to order, it took a while for the host to come give us a menu. After ordering we waited over 30min for our food and all we ordered was a French toast and a chicken sandwich with fries. There were people who came after us but got their food before us. Upon leaving, 3 employees were near the exit and not one of them said "good bye, have a great day, hope you enjoyed your visit".. nothing. Not a word or even a glance. I thought this was very rude and lacked customer service. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, it was just not a welcoming environment at all. The people who were polite and friendly was the person at the front desk on the 1st floor and the bartender. The mini golf experience was short but fun, hence the 3 stars I did give. read more

This was a horrible experience. On Saturday, September 21st, three friends and I visited New York City for a fun day. We happened to find The Puttery on a "Things to do" website, and we agreed to visit to play some indoor golf. After a day of treating each other to cab rides, lunch, and dessert, our good friend, a US Navy veteran, offered to pay for each of the four of us. My iPhone notes that we checked in around 5:00 PM ET. As our friend was processing his payment, a "Tip" page appeared and he selected an "18% tip". I saw the page, and honestly, I don't think he even realized it. Essentially, he paid for four adults, at $27.00, plus an 18% gratuity for $19.00, so one of the three associates behind the counter could watch him process his own transaction, and point us to the elevator. Honestly, we are all decent tippers, as we were for our cab rides, along with the three beers and one cocktail we consumed at the rooftop bar. I'm really puzzled why ANY guest would be prompted for a tip / gratuity, for a 1-hour round of mostly lame miniature golf. The Puttery would at least consider a refund of this ridiculous gratuity. Went there to play some minigolf because it looked really cool from the pictures online and were a bit disappointed to find out the $27 price was for a course with only 9 holes. It took us about 15 minutes to finish. The decorations were cool, and it was designed well enough but it was much smaller than the pictures made it look, just not anywhere near $27 dollars worth. read more

Came to Puttery after a long, strenuous day of work looking for a fun evening and boy did I find it. The courses were so creatively designed and I definitely got competitive towards the end. The real highlight though, was Rory's rooftop bar. The ambiance was immaculate especially during sunset and the bartender Xavier gave us amazing recommendations for both food and drinks. This would definitely be a great place for parties or other social events and I can for sure see myself returning. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. read more

The check in experience is unorganized, needs improvement as it's extremely chaotic and no one is really direction and guiding customers on the way in. There is also an area to the right of the front desk that an employee tended to, but had no idea what it was for. At Check-in, we were told about the different areas and the rooftop. So we go to the rooftop, it was closed....not sure how an employee didn't know that. No big deal though, go to another floor and had to track down an employee...no clue it was seat yourself if we had a waiter or what. I saw several people just get up and leave from waiting too long. Waiter finally comes up takes our drinks...comes out 10 mins later says the drinks are almost ready....comes out 10 minutes after that to take our order...drinks weren't ready. At that point and after noticing the golfing itself is so crowded, I have up on the experience went back to the front desk and asked for my money back. I was told no problem and received a text saying my reservation was now canceled. I figured ok no problem, I won't leave a review, then boom I get only half of the promised refund....so I paid money ultimately for an absolute zero experience. What I suspect is the positive reviews are based off of small events prior to launch cause this place marketed very well with nothing to show in the experience itself. NYC is supposed to have the best of everything and this place is not NYC caliber. Bad experience from start to finish to even post experience. read more

My boyfriend and I went to puttery last night. I want to start off by saying it has a lot of potential but it is pretty unorganized. I understand they just opened so they could still be figuring it out. We made a reservation for mini golf & rushed to get there on time only for them to give us a reservation card 15-45mins past our reservation. Maybe this is to encourage buying drinks at the bar? We went to the rooftop as it was a nice night and the service was awful...the bartender gave us a menu after we had to ask and then didn't look in our direction again to take our order (we waited at least 10 mins) until we went to the 3rd floor bar instead. At this point, the lines for both courses was incredibly long and you would have to wait in line & therefore miss your "check in" time. We opted to go to the other course as the line was shorter. There were so many people that you had to play one hole then wait about 5 mins until you could play the next. Maybe they could have actual reservations and space them out so people can take their time playing and aren't waiting in line to play the next hole? Puttery has so much potential to be a fun spot, but they're very unprepared. My friend and I checked online before coming and saw that all reservation times were still open, so figured we could just buy tickets at the door. When we got to the venue, they were hesitant to sell us tickets because of how crowded it was upstairs but ultimately told us to buy one round each and wait on the rooftop for the lines to die down. We hesitantly agreed. On the way up, we saw how long the lines were and immediately regretted our decision. We sat at a table at the rooftop for a bit. After not being interested in anything on the menu, we decided to join the shorter line, which wasn't the course we had originally come to play, but we didn't want to waste our time standing in lines. While we were on line, the employees were very apologetic for the long wait, and kept asking if we wanted to order cocktails. After already paying so much to yet golf, $20 cocktails did not sound worth it, We waited for about 30 minutes before entering the room. When we got to the front of the line, they were running short on golf clubs and balls so my friend and I had to share one the whole time. There is also no sanitizing process between when the golf clubs/balls are returned and when they are given out to new players. The course itself was only 9 holes which felt like a let down for what we paid. They're also super crammed next to each other, and it felt like you couldn't always stand where you needed to in order to hit the ball. Overall, wish we didn't spend $55+ here just to stand in line and play 9 holes. Won't be coming back read more

This place recently opened in Chelsea area and I had to check it out. I've been to their other location out in Dallas and I believe this one is better. Their menu is pretty inclusive of all food types from meat to fish to veg, it's a nice to see it. We had the tuna titaki which was a great fresh starter and had a double smash burger which honestly did kinda remind me of an In-n-Out burger ( which is a good thing) super good very juicy. The Filet mignon sliders, which personally weren't my favorite but my husband did enjoy them a lot. And to end our meal we had bread putting, which was incredible. The golfing was so much fun! They had a deal for playing both courses that they offer. The museum course was like traveling through different eras in time, and they had uniquely tailored drinks too! Which were very good, we mostly enjoyed on called King Tuts gold, a very unique color and very tasty drink. The other course was more of a ski lodge esq type vibe and was super cute, they also had curated drinks, one callled the Irish iced coffee was our preferred. They do also have a roof top which was very nice and has heaters. As well as a bar and food service. It will definitely be popular during the warmer months. The staff was also incredibly helpful and friendly, our server Eric was super nice and very fun. they all seemed very happy to be there and super aware of what they offer. It was very refreshing to see in an establishment. They also have staff on the courses themselves taking order for drinks, we had a very sweet server her name was Diamond. From the experience with those staff members being so great I just know all of the staff is great. This place will definitely get busy and I will continue to recommend it to everyone. read more
