I've managed the pain as much as I could with minimal relief through yoga, Physical Therapy, dry needling, massage, heat/ice, naproxen/gabapentin and living with a TENS unit attached to me. Activities and comfort were becoming more and more limited. I had seen Angie many, many years ago (not to age either of us) when I worked as a CNA and always had relief that lasted so I knew it was time to explore that avenue of relief again, even though I was now dealing with a plethora of new issues and pain. I showed her what my MRI results showed and we explored options. That is when she introduced me to the decompression table, also known as my quality of life changer. Before using the decompression table, every day, I was making sure my TENS unit was fully charged, I had the pads with, purse had naproxen in it, gabapentin if needed, massager, ice packs, heat packs and extra time built into the day in case I needed to lay on my floor of my office to get some relief. A few sessions on that table and I'm telling you I tear up writing this because I don't live with that pain every day. I have gone months between needing anything. When I start feeling like that pain is creeping up, I schedule a time on that table and I can be back to me again, living pain free and actually enjoying time with my kids, getting out of my vehicle without planning how to move without agonizing pain. I can't promise everyone the success I had and I am no expert. But if it can give someone else the same relief I was given, I hope you find it too! All I know is that I was afraid to go unless for an injury and then I would go a few times, heal a bit, and not go again until I was hurt. Well, I met Dr. Paul and that all changed. He made some great points about how I take great care of my teeth, why don't I take care of my spine? (he said a lot more than that but that really stuck with me) Hmm made me think a bit and then I signed up for regular adjustments with Dr. Paul. I only get one spine, might as well do everything that I can to keep it healthy. I have been a patient for about 5 months now and I can tell you that I feel absolutely great. I get my adjustments and do my exercises when I remember. I have recently started running again and doing strength training. I can tell you that my recovery from workouts is way better compared to before I went to the chiro. I have more energy. I am sleeping better. I no longer get tingling hands while sleeping. I no longer have hip pain. My shoulders aren't at tight and sore at end of day. I feel taller - even though I know I am still a short 5'3. So - hear it from me, take care of yourself!
