Words can't explain how nasty the food was. I don't know which was worse the food or service. Eggs can be picked up whole with the scoop of a fork. Syrup was served in krafts to go cup. Waitress advised me this was the only way they served the syrup. Doesn't come hot lol. Asked for turkey sausage and was given a turkey burger patty. Asked for a food exchange and was told to just leave. I wouldn't want to make it a race issue but being the only group of blacks we were separated and placed in the back of the restaurant. I normally would give this place a 5 star rating. Literally my go to place for the hot fingers and lemon rice soup but today they really ticked me off. I called to ask if they had lemon rice soup and they said they did . I asked how much and how much longer are they gonna have it for because I know after a certain time they dump it out. This has been a place I have ate at for about 20 years now with friends. I had placed a call asking about the boneless hot chicken tenders that were amazing there, but apparently, it doesn't exist and never has. One person on the phone told me there was and I can place an order or pick up and order. (All within the same day) I drive to restaurant only to speak with the owner telling me they have never made or sold hot boneless chicken tenders, "nothing ever boneless." I left and honestly will never return, not because they don't carry it anymore, but because I was blatantly lied to by this "owner". I once judged this place by one or two brief visits, and made up my mind that I hated it with a passion. Why? Well, I just do that sometimes..actually often. I decide that a place feels like home or that it feels uncomfortable and awkward. Well, I felt for awhile that this place was the second type of place, and friends that liked it thought I was strange. About six years ago though, I was surprised to find myself changing my mind about the place. It quickly became one of the top hangouts for my friends and I. The main reason I see now was this really funny lesbian waitress that we came there just to see and chat with. She no longer works there and I now rarely go there. I don't hate it once again, but I'm not that fond of it either. You can't get free refills on pop for one thing, but at the other 24 hour places in the area they are free. I use to work across the street from there though, and they are real good with take-out. They have a handful of pretty tasty dishes, but almost not worth the money. I definately have noticed a big price hike recently compared to when I first started hanging out there with my friends. The "Hot Turkey Sandwich"(Open Faced Turkey) is good. Most of the waitresses are not friendly at all, even less than "The Steer", which is another reason I stopped going there. A great neighborhood spot that all On the east side of Chicago know. Owned by twin brothers who, as stated in many post, can be a bit rough around the edges. Ok, I had 7 Miller lites over the course of 4 hours and it was 1:30am. I was served the absolute worst gyros omlet on the planet. The potatoes were not edible. It was bootleg gyro meat. The feta cheese was rotten. I ate half the omlet then realized I made mistake by consuming this garbage. They overcharged me and my buddy by $10. I wasn't drunk enough to not notice they double charged me for my omlet. Guess what, no tip! I sobered up a couple hours at a friends house. As I proceed to drive home I felt the urge to vomit. Luckily I had a Powerade bottle that handled the mouth fulls of vomit during my drive home. I get home and the vomit was on full blast.
