I saw Rehana today to figure out what's going on. I was diagnosed with post concussion syndrome and need to reschedule my trip. Due to SI joint disfunction, I've had trouble walking and getting around. I'm not sleeping well, too. She ordered a CT scan and we're going to figure out a PT program to deal with the SI joint issue. I love coming here because I always receive top notch, quality care. Rehana and other care team members are always attentive and accommodating. I can't thank them enough.

I want to start by saying the doctors themselves (I only saw Dr Beth) and the ultrasounds techs and phlebotomists (seriously LOVEDDD them!!) are absolutely incredible really. i have no issues with the back of house staff whatsoever it's the front of the house that's the issue. The first experience I had was in August of 2024 when I believed I was having a miscarriage, I was a new patient and they got me in for blood work to confirm. This was my second pregnancy and would've been my very first miscarriage. I called a few hours later for results and the woman on the phone was so inconsiderate and lacked so much empathy during this, she said "What exactly are you looking for?" after asking for my results and I said I had bloodwork done and was looking to see if I was having a miscarriage. She said "Um well yeah you're not pregnant anymore." I said "I had a miscarriage?" she said "You're not pregnant anymore." I was absolutely heartbroken and even though I knew this outcome could happen it still would've been nice to have had some empathy during that from someone. I ended up getting pregnant again in May of 2025 and decided to give them another shot- and now after 2 months of going there I'm going to another practice for the remainder of my pregnancy. Their payment plans are very unorthodox to where they look at your insurance and estimate your total cost through delivery and ask you to pay monthly and pay up by 32 weeks i'm assuming so they can kick you out of the practice if you haven't paid...my estimate was $764 a month. I had asked many questions about this and said "Will anything be submitted to insurance or will I have to do that myself?" "What if i lose the baby halfway through the pregnancy and at that point have already paid for half the L&D that won't happen?" and the lady responded "We just want to ensure we get paid." The billing department also called me constantly to talk to me condescendingly and in my opinion almost gave a vibe that I "can't afford this practice" it was almost like they were telling me I was too poor to stay..she asked me if I could apply to Medicaid? Not knowing my situation whatsoever. Another thing is their scheduling department. It's almost as if no one there actually knows what work the office does..everytime I call it's almost as if they're wanting to say "Why are you calling an OB office for OB appointments??" couldn't be bothered, and when they don't understand the appointment type you need, they schedule you for an ultrasound even if you don't need one. I personally think they were trying to raise my bill because they knew I was leaving. At 13 weeks pregnant, I have had 4 ultrasounds...while having a completely normal pregnancy and they cost ~$150 each. As I said, the back of house is lovely, so kind, and listens to your concerns. The way the actual business is run is disorganized, they lack empathy, and only care about money.

The space is gorgeous, set in a shared office building (with a live terrarium!). Everything about Benita's space is about relaxation and taking care of yourself. I recommend a Swedish massage for relaxing, but if you have a ton of knots, you might want to ask for a deep tissue massage. The prices are more than reasonable, especially for the 2 hour massage (that's how I treat myself!). If you want a great massage, please check her out.

Her voice is soft and very gentle lets you kno she has a great spirit and she's all about comforting her clients. I enjoyed my calm moments sitting on her comfortable floor pillows I actually stuck around for a few mins bc it was even more peaceful once I was done my body was mellowed out and I was able to relax and take and breath out all the stress I had came with was no more. When it came time for the hospital birth, Joy was the calming, steady presence I needed. She made my partner and me feel calm and supported, and truly cared for us every step of the way. She was also a strong advocate, ensuring my wishes were respected and my voice heard, and has positive relationships with the hospital staff. Joy was, without a doubt, the most positive and empowering part of my birth journey. I'm so grateful for her and recommend her to anyone considering working with a doula.

Joy was my guardian angel during my pregnancy and birth. I didn't have many friends that had…read morebabies, and everyone in my family had babies so long ago that they couldn't remember anything! Everyone else kept scaring me with their horrid birth stories. Why do people do this to pregnant women? Save your traumatic birth story for your therapist, not a hormonal, vulnerable pregnant woman! I needed someone to guide me, calm my nerves, and be my rock. Joy was that and more. She couched me during my pregnancy about birth and we created a birth plan. Any question I had she would answer, in a knowledgeable, fun, and unjudgemental way. I ended up changing my ob when I was 37 weeks pregnant to a midwife. Joy helped me not feel so crazy for doing this! And it was absolutely the right decision for us. She also gives the BEST aromatherapy prenatal massages. During labor, she helped me go through each contraction, she would "feed" me my protein shakes during labor since I was high risk for c-section and wasn't allowed to eat, but she wanted to make sure I was getting enough fluids and sustenance to keep going through labor. She helped teach my husband how to help me work through contractions and massage me. She kept me moving to progress my labor. And when my son arrived, we all cried together. It was beautiful and I know I wouldn't have had this beautiful experience if it wasn't for her.

Unfortunately, I will not return or recommend anyone to Stream of Life. Although, they got the job…read moredone, (I guess) it was not a pleasant experience. I cannot tell you my technicians name because she never introduced herself. There was no short video describing the procedure (listed for first time visits), no analysis & consultation (also stated for first time visits), no stomach massage (as I'd seen done during other procedures), no follow up instructions, just pages of blurred copies of information. When the procedure was over, I was given a shot of liquid chlorophyll and two probiotic pills to take, with no explanation as to why it was given, or the benefits. There were no post care instructions pertaining to supplements, nor conversation (or goodbye from therapist who sat on her phone and said nothing while I paid). I wanted to support black owned business, as well as receive some direction on my journey to achieving a more holistic, and healthier approach. However, MY overall experience was cold, informal and uninformative.
