Barre is yoga + pilates + ballet. These are combined with yoga straps, exercise balls, resistance bands, and weights. There is a lot of repetition with each movement, especially small movements to work the whole body. Some people wear sticky socks, but I never did. Be sure to bring your water bottle and a clear mind before class. I heard it takes about 8-10 classes before you really settle in. Pros - Only charges a late fee in the event of a late cancel for a wait-listed class (some places will charge regardless of the class size) - Yoga classes are once a week, which is purely yen yoga (but I wouldn't attend this yoga class again) - Nice and easy app to enroll into classes. You can attend any of the 3 Knoxville locations via the app. - Hones your stamina and posture - You will feel the soreness from head to toe after the first class Cons - Never answers phone calls but slow to reply via emails (all 3 locations have the exact contact us). I had to drive to one of the 3 locations in Knoxville to start a class. So I knocked a star off from 4 stars. If you are new, I definitely recommend attending Stephanie's class. Out of the 3 different instructors I experienced, Stephanie really caters to the class and attendees. My first class with Stephanie, I overheard her explaining some of the movements for a good 5 minutes prior to class to another new member. She then came to the front to check me in and knew immediately that I never took a class with her.

Basketball court is rented out and has non members filled with kids and family events every day of the week. Now they cater to kids and have them consuming the pool and studios. Lies are told to new members to get them to join. Automatic renewal in contract isn't brought up at joining and keeps people bound and nearly impossible to get out of. Equipment needs updating. Parking is terrible most days and members park anywhere they want , even in emergency and non parking areas making it hard to maneuver out of parking lot. Overpriced on top of maintenance fees twice yearly. Don't forget to add that to your membership cost. Not even sure what that ever goes to. They have one maintenance cleaner on staff to clean the whole facility. And repairs needed are very slow to getting fixed. Simply not kept up and seems to need more staff to get things done. Could be so much better.

They offer several different types of yoga classes from Holy Power Yoga (fast-paced & Christ based) to Restorative (slow & relaxing.) If it's hard to decide which class to take, your first class is FREE! Tara was the yoga instructor for the Holy Power Yoga class I took this morning at 9 AM. It was definitely full of POWER! It had lots of postures to build strength and balance. The Savasana at the end was perfect. She came around and adjusted our Savasana to make it more relaxing. The yoga floor is cement, so if you have a thin mat or cranky knees, make sure you bring a blanket to pad your knees. Also, the blanket will help keep you warm in Savasana since the cement floor is cold.

English and Audrey have been so crucial in me signing up, going out of their way to give me the best monthly rate. I'm forever grateful for these two managers and all they do for this wonderful Hotworx location. Know BEFORE you go: ** A specific HOTWORX mat and towel are required for the isometric classes. You can purchase them both for $100. They also rent and sell other things, from cute clothing to headphones to energy drinks. ** Hand towels and foam rollers are provided for free. ** There are also small cubby spaces outside the sauna for quick storage - that's where you put your phone, backpack, shoes, etc. ** All classes are virtual through displays within the sauna, not in-person with you. You follow along to their instructions on the screen. ** Bring a water bottle! Be sure to hydrate before, during, and after. There are water fountains for refills. ** Similarly - it's HOT.
