Really good for multi family or multi couple groups. The trek to the boats is horrible. Very dangerous to walk down. There is no set of stairs from this cabin to the docks. As for the docks, they are more community based than not. Get here early to secure your dock and claim it. There are not enough docks if they have a full rental in the resort. The bay is very shallow and needs to be dredged. However, the location is good for fishing and playing. The wifi barely reaches this cabin so do not count on it. The closer boat ramp is good for very small boats and wave runners. For bigger boats you have to drive 10 minutes to the larger ramp. Location is about 5-8 minutes from town. The cabin we stayed in has a dishwasher!!! Overall it is very clean. It's newer. There is a volleyball pit in the resort and paddle bike boats. Otherwise you need to bring your fun. They do rent decent pontoons. The resort for rent trailers near the cabins. They start drinking at noon and are out all weekend. There is no daily maid or clean up service. Garbage isn't picked up either. Our cabin has two TVs. One is 13" the other is 20". The grills are in bad shape but they work. The staff is easy to work with and friendly.

OMG this had to be ONE OF THE WORST places we've EVER stayed at!!!!…read moreFirst and foremost, let me state there was one very nice person there: Kristin. She was very polite and respectful. The rest of them, including the manager named Renee were GOD AWFUL!!!! - First, there was the pre-arrival. Prior to getting there, I called and asked if we could extend our stay. One of the individuals called "Saige" was reluctant to do in the first place!!! Saying phrases like "uhhhh we really don't do stuff like that around here." Really lady? Wow, great attitude to have. When I asked here to call me back after she said she needed to speak with her manager....she NEVER DID!!!!!! I had to call back a few times just to request an update!! When I finally got the answer I needed, she seemed upset by her manager's decision...taking forever to answer me because she was annoyed....and was very rude and tangential in the conversation. It was so bad, I had to tell her to please speed it up and STAY ON TOPIC!!! - Second was the actual arrival. When we got there, the manager Rene was ALSO a bit standoff-ish. She never apologized for Saige's behavior and gave us this vibe that we didn't belong. For instance, when I offered to work out a deal with them that would accommodate them for an additional day's stay, instead of her doing her job and looking into this immediately, she said "let's just reschedule and reevaluate this conversation towards the end of your stay." WOW, REALLY?!?! However wait.........it gets even WORSE....!!!!!! - Third, During arrival. When we got to the suite, we noticed our request for additional items was not already in the room. When I requested those items, it was met with WOEFUL resentment from Rene!! I made the request around 5:30pm-ish......after calling multiple times....our stuff didn't come until almost 10pm!!! Again...WOW, really?!?! But wait....it gets worse..! - Fourth, during the stay. During our stay, although the room was cleaned as requested, we noticed our room only had one robe (after all of the nonsense we went through earlier....did NOT want to experience that again!!!!), the INTERNET absolutely was terrible!! It was worse than dialup internet!!!, there were BUGS EVERYWHERE....it was so bad we noticed RAID Insect Traps in the suite (I kid you not!!) and the phone reception was again GOD AWFUL and DANGEROUS!!! - Fifth the "Phone." GOD FORBID something happened to us in the suite! Oh wait, it did!!! The issues I brought up above.....we had to go to a phone ALL THE WAY to the Reception Building just to call. Several times just to get the stuff in the room, btw!!! Of course Rene was very nonchalant everytime, but seriously....There's NO PHONE in the room...?!?! Not even a landline..?! - Sixth, the food. Ok seriously....this is a Relais de Chateaux establishment, right?! So the guest service was already terrible, the food is THIS BAD as well?!?! During breakfast, our food was so salty we had to THROW AWAY after ONE BITE!!! Lunch was just as bad because the cheese was outdated! My spouse LITERALLY got sick from the grilled cheese. DESPICABLE. However, the worse of the trip is yet to come..... - Seventh, the departure. When I brought up the bug issue, the front desk had the SHEER AUDACITY to say to us,"...we recognise Northwoods Wisconsin is not for everyone." Ok........let's pause for a moment here....what does that even mean?! Are you REALLY saying to your guests that they don't belong there?!?? As a minority, I found that not only out of line, but EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL and DISCRIMINATORY!!! Who says that to a guest?! I mentioned that this was supposed to be a Relais de Chateaux and EVERYONE should feel welcomed!!!! We could put up with a lot, but that's where, after everything that preceded, it was time to leave. We requested an early departure (which they told us to do prior to our saying, btw) and got out of there. Ok this had GOT to be THE WORSE RESORT EVER!!!! I wouldn't even call this a resort.....let alone a Relais de Chateaux establishment!!! We URGE you all, please STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!! Between the poor attitudes, customer service, poor food, even poorer internet + phone reception and (speaking of reception) and ABSOLUTELY BIASED and BIGOTED language, Canoe Bay is NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!! Save the $2000+ for an ACTUAL luxury resort.

We stayed for two nights in one of the cozy Escape Tiny Houses and loved it! The screen porch was the perfect place to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book and be surrounded by nature in pure comfort and without the bugs ;). Everything exceeded our expectations including the magical, organic garden full of huge, beautiful blooms and vegetables used for the culinary, top-notch meals created and offered on-site! We did 1 dinner at The Inn and 2 meal services delivered to our room (1 breakfast, 1 dinner). It is such a cool concept and feels luxurious to have these fresh meals delivered directly to your cabin at the allotted times. Be sure to order and reserve your meals ahead of time! It's an experience you won't want to miss! The service was amazing as they made everything so easy for us. I loved that we could just text to make arrangements! We also enjoyed in-room massages, where Gentry Massage therapists come to you! It's easier if you contact ahead of time as they need to arrange schedules on their end. We went for a lovely canoe adventure one morning and a short hike for another. It felt like we were in a dream! Everything looks ethereal which added to the relaxation. This past weekend during the first week of July, I had the immense pleasure and opportunity to stay…read moreat the Stout's Island Lodge for a wedding. Words and even pictures can hardly express the beauty of this 26 acre island. Surrounded by a huge lake, the island was covered in lush, green, nature with a few deer grazing and hanging around, fireflies at night (and mosquitoes of course...mosquito spray did hardly nothing to deter them lol), and the sun lighting up the sky well into the night. I had no idea what to expect and this trip has easily been one of the most memorable, fun and unique trips I've been on. The scenery is continuously breathtaking and all of the staff and people who work on the island went above and beyond with their hospitality, making sure guests were comfortable and enjoying themselves. The group I arrived with and I had luggage put on one boat and the rest of us gathered into a Duffy for a 5-10 minute ride to the island where we docked inside the big cabin, where we later played pool, ping-pong and enjoyed each others company. Our cabins were clean, with AC, and little amenities like an iron, coffee maker, hair dryer and a comfy bed to sleep in. The lake is only a few minute walk from the cabins any of us stayed in, as well as the middle area where we spent most of our time. The small dining hall provided 3 meals a day and there were so many games for us to play outside on the grass. Badminton, corn hole, footballs to toss, soccer balls, croquette and a chest filled with so much more.There was even a tennis court! There was a dock and little platform in the water you could swim out to, where many of us spent time during the hot day. They also had paddleboards and lots of towels! Some people paddled around the island too! The 2 night stay wasn't nearly enough time lol we all loved this place so much it was like summer camp for adults. Some of us wanted to make a pact that we should have other weddings here for our group because of how much fun we had together. The staff worked tirelessly, from setting up everything, serving food and keeping the drinks flowing amongst all the guests. To the girls at the bar, you ladies were amazing, the couple of blonde girls, the girl with the shorter light brown hair, especially the young lady with the beautiful, dark curly hair and stunningly bright green-blue eyes. A huge thank you to the older gentleman at the bar, one of the younger blonde guys who read our minds when we wondered where the restroom was, Ashton and the guys who drove us to and from the island. I'm so sorry for not getting all your names but just know guys rock and the wedding would not have been the same without each and every one of the staff. I will never forget ya'll. This trip was an absolute dream, I can't wait to come back here someday.

The place is beautiful don't get me wrong. However, it needs a serious make over. I can understand…read morethe charm and rustic feel which adds some character to it, but definitely not a repeat trip for us. The service was not great. The number on their website is a hit or miss. You'd call 5 times to get someone to answer you once. Our room was not appealing. There was dust everywhere and the shower was frigid. The door to go out to a patio like area was not working- it stayed unlocked. You could hear everything in the cabin- ppl voices, foot steps, no courtesy quiet. The food was over priced - the breakfast was blah - hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit. If you wanted something more than that it was up for purchase. The only good food was the burger. The ferry schedule wasn't really based on the schedule that was provided. There was no TV in the room. Sad to say for a place with such potential it was seriously lacking . It's not worth the money $300/night for nothing
