matcha, strawberry, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and oreo cream puffs.

The best cream puffs i've tried!! Owner is super sweet and friendly; he explains thoroughly how to store them at home to maintain freshness and they still taste good days later. All the flavors are yummy but my favorite is definitely chocolate and matcha! Please bring matcha back :'(

I should have checked the Want Bierock Company's Yelp page prior to visiting on our last trip to…read moreWichita. I'd been craving good Volga German bierocks for some time. (I used to live in Wichita back in the Eighties, and learned to love bierocks during that time.) Well, shiver me timbers and call me Petunia, honey, but I sure as git-out didn't go into Want Bierock Company to be pummeled with loud "Christian" music and a plethora of self righteous placards urging my conversion. To quote fellow Yelper Mindless M.'s review, "Well, the new owners change it for the worst it's now a Christian coffee shop ('cause we don't have enough of that in Kansas...) and they made it really bad where it feels like they're shoving Christianity in your face they changed the decorations to Christian stuff and constantly play Christian music no one wants to be there even if they liked the coffee because everyone who comes in there feels so much tension from staff" The front door had a sign encouraging us to take off our masks (!!!) even as COVID-19 numbers surged in Sedgwick County, and the reading materials placed out among the pieces of used furniture inside the restaurant (no joke!) were all far right wing conspiracy rags. Here's the whole megillah: I don't want to eat in Muslim restaurants that has Islamic prayers and chanting during my meal. (And yes, I've encountered that once, as well. How hard is it for some folks to leave personal religious crap out of business?) I also don't eat out to see and hear THIS kind of tommyrot. I go out to eat to enjoy my friends and their company, after all. I do NOT go out to eat to be proselytized, nor to be a captive audience for sectarian music, no matter its origin. Five stars for the bierocks we got. (They were hot and filling and tasty. Yum.) One star for the rest of the experience -- self righteous and ham-fisted proselytization efforts all included. Two Yelp stars across the board -- mostly for the sake of the bierocks. Please do better.

There was a ton of tables to sit and relax at which I always enjoy. I ordered a Nutella cronut and a regular iced matcha. The cronut was delicious! Perfect amount of sweet. I will say it would have been nice to offer to warm it up but it was still yummy. Then, the lady working the counter called out my iced matcha and I immediately knew just from looking at this drink that it's not matcha. I sat and took two sips from it and it was straight up sugary milk... not a single ounce of matcha was put into this drink. It was almost $7 for this drink by the way. I'm not sure why they would hand this to me or why they call this matcha but that was a joke... I finished my cronut and then went to her for a refund on the drink. She didn't ask any questions, didn't apologize or ask what they could do differently... just gave me a refund and had her throw it away. Based on my experience, I will not be coming back.

It has a tidy, cute shop space with local meat, bakery goods, gluten free options, art, soap and other goodies just like its parent shop. Decor is white and black and tastefully simple. Food-wise, we enjoyed our drinks (iced caramel apple chai with boba and a Café au lait) and baked goods while we sat on the sunporch playing Uno. (See the business owner's note about the cool game room below this review.) I see that they have soup, burritos and flights of drinks and I definitely want to hit that up next time. Service was great; there was one lady running the shop on this rainy Saturday and she was very friendly and helpful, greeting us cheerily when we entered the shop and bringing our drinks to us on the second floor later. The Google page says that the shop has wheelchair access but I admit I didn't see it--perhaps there are other entrances with a ramp, but none that are immediately noticeable, This is an old Victorian house with most of the seating on the second and third floors with steep staircases, but there is a table and limited bar seating on the first floor. It's probably not the greatest place for handicapped folks, but it's a lovely shop and I hope all feel welcome. Hi
