The Publix Supermarket at Las Olas.... Having "Las Olas" is a bit misleading. It is not next to quaint shops and restaurants but rather across the street from the Fort Lauderdale Court House. Located at 601 S. Andrews Avenue this Publix has its own Pharmacy, Liquor Store and Starbucks. The store itself is clean and modern with a good size parking garage. Lunchtime is quite busy at this location because everyone from the courthouse comes here. The staff is friendly and there is a large lounge area in front where you can sit, eat, and socialize. The only negative thing is the amount of homeless people you will encounter. It's a Very Nice Publix but sadly no effort is made to direct them to vacate the property especially in the lounge area and the bathrooms. Otherwise, this Publix is 5 Star. read more

Management is fantastic here. Employees are always so nice and helpful. I wish they still had the escalator as I hate the elevators but they needed to fit a Starbucks in there. This review is for the pharmacy. On the 18th my doctor sent in my prescription. It required a prior auth. so I knew it wouldn't be immediate. I had a copy of the approved prior auth within 2 days, as did my doctor. I've called more than once, and finally, Thursday night 2/26, I spoke to the pharmacist and she told me, she having me on hold forever, that she sees that they have received the prior auth and that my prescription would be ready the next day. So here we are, two days later and guess what? The pharmacy staff told me that they don't have the prior auth and even when they get it, they have to order the medication because they don't have it in stock. This is bullshit. This medication is for my diabetes and 10 days after my doctor ordered it, it's still not ready. read more

I was happy this Publix had a parking lot. If you don't pay attention, you can totally miss the parking lot. The parking lot is FREE!!! It's not far from the beach, driving not walking!! If you are in the downtown area, this Publix is an easy shopping stop. First of all, it has a nice covered parking garage so you can park in the shade, with no need of getting a ticket nor paying nor getting it validated. It's just very customer friendly. The store itself is very clean, bright and well stocked. As other Publix stores, the staff is very friendly, helpful and patient. I went for some items that were on sale and you can get some really nice deals on their BOGO and weekly specials. I'm guessing Publix caters to the area? This location is in downtown Fort Lauderdale and it's in a fancy garage. Unlike others of this type (referring to Brickell specifically), you don't need a ticket to get in and out. Nor do you need validation. The actual Publix is pretty spacious. It's easy to walk along the aisles. That and it's organized, which I'm eternally grateful for. They also have a stand right outside to get pastries and coffee, but it's beyond packed. Asked for a chicken tender sub and the lady behind the counter told me "no chicken tender sub" in a very direct and non-helpful way. It was very clear there was chicken tenders in the hot box and in the prepared foods behind her but I guess she didn't want to make me one so she just told me no. Pretty unacceptable to be honest. Not at all what I would expect from Publix - especially one that is this nice. Went to customer service to speak to the deli manager but she was "unavailable". There are 3 reasons why I come here. 1. They have a Starbucks that is located in the lobby area. 2. They have beachwear. I bought 2 tie-dyed dresses and wished that I bought all of the colors because they were freshly stocked the day I bought mine and when I went back, they were all gone. I love Publix. Growing up in Jacksonville Winn Dixi was the beef people and where we shopped. It went down hill with all the rest. Then in the 70's Publix showed up. It was a dream shop. The worst Publix location I've been to and I've lived in Florida for eleven years. I agree with the last person's review. The entrance halls smell like urine, panhandlers loitering, tables in common areas are dirty, the deli is a mess and the produce isn't always fresh. Check the dates on your perishable items. I've visited this publix a few times before but not as often as the closer competitor. Since I have sworn off the other competitor this will be my new home! My wife and I like to buy and eat a publix sub before we shop so we don't buy out of hunger. It's a veteran move! Today we split a whole size mojo pork on the multi grain roll with all the fixings. It did not disappoint! We also like to split a cup of their New England clam chowder. Though this is a tad pricey it is worth it. publix is the only place I trust outside of a restaurant I would eat clam chowder. Decent amount of clam but you better like some potatoes if you buy it. Fancy, fancy, fancy.... I was expecting a Jewel kind of store, but this chain is more like a Mariano's. It was 11 guys planning on buying loads of meat for our week in Fort Lauderdale. Where we surprised to see those prices. Lets start from the beginning, this location had an indoor parking garage. With 4 huge elevators stopping at each floor. Fancy I repeat lol. As soon as walking in you can clearly see how clean the store is, the floor are shining and every aisle is stocked up with nothing all over the place like most grocery stores. We bought a few things and at first we where not going to buy meat because they didn't have much on display. Meaning we wanted lots of meat, but we didn't want to pay so much. The store manager heard us ask the cashier if there was a meat store that sold meat by the bulk per say. The manager asked as to what we wanted. We told him we where looking for about 20 pounds of skirt steak. But their price was a bit high. He made a deal and said he could have his butcher load up a tray of fresh meat that had just arrived and gave us a 50% discount on the selling price. We where amazed and took the deal because there was nothing in the area that would sell that much at a discounted priced. Next time we now know what Publix is about and we shall try and come back when we are in need of bulks of meat. read more

It is sad to me to write this review. And it is absolutely sad because first at all I don't like writing bad reviews and second at all because I love Publix. Saturday night I got hungry for Publix bakery so I went to this location that I used to visit almost every weekend. This lady came to me and asked me if I needed help (as they always do at Publix) and since I haven't made my decision I replied to her: No thanks, I am still deciding. I kept looking for cakes, cookies and cheesecakes and then, let's say, five minutes later I went to the section where they have guava pastries.... they looked so yum and fresh so that's when I made my decision. I looked for some help and no one was there. To be honest I wasn't even in a rush so I just kept there waiting for someone to show up. Again... I wasn't in a rush, I wasn't complaining... suddenly from I don't know where, the same lady came from the kitchen and she goes: 'Oh jeez... now have you made your decision?'. I'm a nice person. I really respect people who work late at night and I really like Publix staff but this lady went off of the trails... she was rude, she seemed she didn't want to be working there... I don't usually write reviews but I just went to this Publix with my husband today at 9:30 pm to buy dog food because I had just ran out and when I got home to open the bag there was the worst smell inside the bag. I checked the expiration date because of how bad it smelled and the food expired June of 2020. They just sold me dog food that expired a year ago. I understand them missing out on a day. But a whole year. How irresponsible can they be. I am so disappointed. I think one of my dogs had a bite of it I'm praying she doesn't get sick. I'm not going to ramble on about Publix as you likely have been in one before, but this one is definitely set apart with the parking garage and moving sidewalk type escalators to enter with a cart if you come down from one of the other floors. As I imagine this Publix does cater to some higher end shoppers I did notice some differences in products from my normal small Publix - notably different freshly prepared foods, olive bar, bigger sushi selection, more organics etc. It also boasts a little cafe with coffees and teas as well as pastries and Cuban pastries outside the main entrance with seating areas which I guess brings in the surrounding business lunch crowds. Main draw for me, free Level 2 EV charging on the 3rd floor of the garage. Only one charger for now, but hopefully they'll add in more soon :) read more

I do not usually make yelp complaints, especially when it comes to Publix, as I usually do have a pleasant experience. However, today was definitely not one of them. I work in the downtown area, so this publix is convenient as it is a walk from the office. So it is my go to for lunch. Apparently, today requesting to have my bread toasted for my veggie sub was a huge ordeal. As I was literally told by Tiffany at the Deli counter, "Really? You want the whole 9? Don't you see the line?" All I asked was to have my bread toasted first. Tiffany, I apologize that my request to toast the bread threw you over the edge of your apparent bad day. I didn't realize I was requesting the impossible. I am sincerely sorry that you didn't want to be at work today, and it showed. This rating is based solely on the deli department To say that the deli workers move as slow as snails would be an insult to our slimy little gastropods. There was a line for sandwiches that was long to start and extending by the minute, but that didn't seem to bother the deli workers in the slightest. The fact that customers were eagerly waiting in line to be served wasn't going to stop these workers from doing what they do best, nothing. I counted numerous workers who were literally walking in circles not even falsifying to be doing anything productive. A Publix is a Publix is a Publix or isn't it? Well, yes, more or less. They all attempt to carry the same items in the same stocking order, but their flagship store on Cordova generally offers a wider selection than the older of smaller ones like the Publix of Wilton Manors and usually doesn't run out of stock items such a buffalo meats, quail or duck; items I regularly have on my dinner table. This particular Publix is one of the ones that is very well set up and has as many inventory items as does their Cordova flagship store. However, this Publix is what I might term an urban store, three floors in height with indoor parking ramp locations of the second and third floors instead of having large open parking lot spaces. For me, this is the downfall of the place and why I rarely shop it. The ramp parking spaces a notoriously known as a place wherein you get your car dinged by others opening their doors or backing into you. It also makes shopping more of a pain. Once you park in the ramp area you have to take a rather slow grinding elevator down to the first floor to do your shopping. Then, when done with shopping it's either back to the elevator to return to your car if parked on the second floor or taking your cart up a moving sidewalk; to me all being more of a hassle and annoyance than shopping other Publix stores; hence on that basis Two Stars. read more

I live a block from this store and at first I was happy for the convenience but soon after I start shopping there I realized I would rather drive 10 min to 17th street then shop next door. Police typically are around the corner monitoring the homeless that sit inside and smell up the place. Once you get past the smells then the inside experience doesn't get any better.. The produce is over priced and never fresh, the quality of fish is bad and the check out service is unpleasant.. I really like this store in some ways, and in others it couldn't turn me off more. Let's get the bad over with. For one, the produce is not fresh, it goes bad within a day. Not a fan at all. The only other bad thing is that it's dirty, you don't want to enter a food store and it feel gross. That's not a good start to your shopping experience. Now the good. Their hot pastries (empanadas, papas rellenas, croquetas) are incredible if u can get there before they are gone. Also, they have a parking garage just for the store, so rain or shine you can get your groceries. Lastly, and most importantly in my opinion, they are quick.
