I recently ended my rental in Walnut Creek at facility 08368. The staff have always been very helpful. Today Jordan and Monica we're especially helpful and accommodating. I am terminating my rental because you are consistently increasing your rents at or above reasonable percentages. No break for customers who have been at the facility longer than you have owned it. I certainly would not recommend your organization to anyone in the future. read more

We've been storing our odds and ends and holiday supplies at this Public Storage for over 6 years. Here's our take: 1. Dave (on site manager) has been here the whole time. He's always pleasant with a calm demeanor. If there's a problem, he will take care of it. Most of all, I'm shocked that he remembers me every time I come in. I mean, I go to the same other shopping spots around town and see the same people in customer service and don't usually see this kind of recognition. Think, "Cheers" (tv show). 2. It's clean. I mean, yeah, it's a public storage facility. But, all things in perspective, it's kept clean and well maintained. 3. Entry requires a code. Homeless can't just come in and set up residence for the night. 4. It's busy. People always coming and going. 5. It's very convenient from the freeway and for a central Walnut Creek spot. Downfalls: 1. Price has increased since we moved in and I wish they wouldn't raise the rent on the units. I know it's a corporation, but wish the units had some kind of rent control. 2. The dollies are often not available on the weekends due to so many people moving in and out. Overall, it's a great unit. Pricey. Unit is temperature controlled. I took 1 star away because of the fact that dollies are hard to get on the weekends...it's happened on 3 different occasions that I can easily recall in the last year. And I don't like price hikes. Wish their was a customer loyalty if your unit is already over $200/month. read more

Needed extra space for arrival of our new baby girl. This Public Storage ROCKS!!!! Dave (onsite manager) could not have been more delightful to work with. I had originally reserved the unit for the price that was displayed online (PS website) but a couple of days later the price had dropped by $14. Called the WC site and left a message Dave called back within the hour to tell me they were going to honor the new online price. The entire process, renting, signing paperwork, viewing and accessing the unit was easy and painless. Was in and out in 15 minutes. Got a 5x5 for a great price. Dominque was great! Very informative and pleasant young lady. We rented a 10x10 unit but it only measures out at 9x9. We have some concerns about security but I think it's just the standard nowadays. Tried to do the contactless rental on their website but once I declined their additional insurance that I don't need I was not allowed to complete the rental online and had to do the whole process in person. We decided to get a storage unit to clear out some space for our baby. We only have nice some stuff in since we were busy and glad we only moved in a small portion of what we planned. Our unit was broken into and anything of value was stolen. They manage to get in without breaking our lock. My only guess is the thieves hope we wouldn't notice and continue to add things. Less then two months of rental and we are removing our belongings out. Sadly since the location was convenient and staff was nice enough, but if you can store securely none of it really matters. read more

If you want a nice, clean & safe place to store some items in the Walnut Creek area I would look no further than North Main's Public Storage. It's temperature controlled so my vinyl doesn't warp. The staff is nice, the manager seems cool & the bathroom is actually clean unlike some of the other public storage places I have been at. Also I would have never thought about getting packing supplies at a Public Storage but the rates are reasonable and it's very convenient. read more

Don't do it!!! Be sure you know where you unit is and about the elevator before renting here. The long carry and the short elevator window (45 seconds) made our unload and store a nightmare. My movers work all over the country and said they've never seen such difficult access. Calculate triple time for movers hours if you compare this storage to a drive up. I will say the manager was very nice and helpful. However, renting here was a very, pricey mistake. read more

Be aware of the Walnut Creek PS pricing structure. PS automatically increases pricing every 6 months based on market pricing. My unit went up 16.7% after the first 6 months. The only way to hold your pricing for a year is to prepay. I have a second storage unit in the area and they only increase my unit 5% a year! The other issue I have with the Walnut Creek PS location is accessibility. If you use your storage unit frequently, it is a pain to have to use an elevator and walk down long hallways to get to your unit. Unless you are desperate, I would look at other storage facility options before choosing this location. read more

But now, after 6 months (the deal was one year of storage) they are raising my rates 35%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing goes up that high, that fast except when supply/demand dictates it. Security Storage in Walnut Creek (n. Main Street) has been my best (by far) storage experience ever! I have had things in storage of and on for fifteen years in two different cities, and they are the outstanding.. The staff is very friendly, responsive and helpful. They have gone out of their way when I had trouble remembering my code, etc. The property is clean and comfortable if you have to spend time inside your space or in hallways, sorting or rearranging things. I did twice on very hot days and it was cool inside. I really have peace of mind leaving my stuff in their care. read more

Beware of the $1 for first month promotion. I called them and booked a rental unit with the first month at $1 for a storage unit and then the day before my move when I went to the office to sign the paperwork they told me the unit would cost $400 / month and the promotion ended the day before. They guy in the office said who I had talked to on the phone said "is there a reason you didn't come in yesterday?" I said "yes, because you told me I could come in today". After repeatedly communicating with staff, the discrepancies they pledged to rectify were not executed upon. There are numerous local solutions that are much more reputable and forthright. I rented a storage unit here last year. The unit was broken into and we had only been there for less than a month. The unit I had was downstairs (2186). My unit had a huge gap between the top of the wall and ceiling. A person can climb from one unit to another. I don't know if that's how they got in, but to get out with the stuff they had to force the latch from the inside. It's strange because the thief's bent the latch back, closed the door and put a padlock on the latch. I had to cut it off, the office didn't have bolt cutters. I had a Police Officers come down and look at the unit and file a report. We went up to the office and talked to the front desk clerks. The Police officers ask if they had video cameras inside the hallways of the storage area, they said "NO". The units are not individually alarmed and there are no video cameras on the inside hallways. Most of the things that were taken were items taken in a hurry. I don't know why they chose my unit, maybe they saw me moving in and the thief's are people renting the units there. They didn't seem to look thoroughly inside boxes. I usually don't write reviews especially bad ones, but this is a warning to customers and people looking at this place for storage. I have nothing against the people or the place. This is what happened to me and I hope it will raise awareness. read more
