The San Diego an LA branches had their CPUC license revoked and does not hold proper insurance for transporting household goods. Oh, and the A+ BBB rating advertised on their website is also for their San Francisco branch. The San Diego and LA branch score a D-. I had actually booked this company before I investigated further. When I discovered they didn't have a valid CPUC license I emailed to inquire why and got radio silence. Then I attempted to cancel (with a full weeks notice) and got no response. 24 hours before the originally scheduled move I finally got a text from the driver and had to tell them not to come.

The company they hired to do the actual move did a great job with the pick up and a very late job…read moreon delivery. The guy was borderline rude and the helpers dropped some of my furniture which was damaged. I found multiple shoe prints on the tops of my bins and lids were cracked. I lost 4 dishes, 1 lamp, and have multiple gauges in my nightstands. Overall the main thing is that they were late from what they had told me when I signed up and it was also Different than what was presented. The original salesperson said they were not a broker but they did contract out my job to Y&O. I was told to reach out to Route 66 For assistance which I did by phone and email and never received a reply. One last point is that my email, phone number, pick up and delivery address were exposed to some hacker/breach and a scammer used the data to call me to try to get me to pay for my pick up 2 days before the pick up. I refused and alerted Route 66. The dispatcher said that the data base had been compromised and she was glad I had not paid the guy. Me too but seriously poor security with a lot of personal information about me and no notification that this occurred even though clearly it was known by Route 66 staff. So I really do t recommend them. I wanted it to be a great experience but it wasn't. If my have to move again I will rent a truck, hire movers to load and unload under my supervision and I will drive it myself. Or I will find a company that really is a living company so I'm not the effect of a bad job of subcontracting or whatever seems to have occurred on my cycle. I give them 2 stars because the pick up was good and the automated email they send that tells you to pay the pick up driver saved me from being scammed even though their data base was breached.

Thank you Loyal Customer of over 7 yrs! For Sonya and Erik…read more When is is okay for managers to harass and threaten customers? Sonya was out if CONTROL w/her POWERTRIP. Said my car was "blocking the way." Confirmed w/customers car was "not" in the way. I ask her to " leave me alone" and I would comply with her request once finished. Sonya responds " I don't have to." (Begins mentioning a complaint I made about other customers involving them moving their car). Sonya THREATENED to "EVICT" me w/ " 2 days to get my stuff out." Erik then confronts me to tell me "to leave, this is PRIVATE PROPERTY." Just paid them $160 day before. Thank you Sonya and Erik for your excellent customer service! Especially during this difficult time with COVID! The lack of respect and boundaries from Sonya is deplorable!! She has never been friendly, nor her lovely husband. They need to reevaluate themselves before they ATTACK their customers.

This…read moreemployee hung up on me multiple times because she couldn't change an address in an unit at their facilities. Claudia spoke to me with a very aggressive tone when I called. Who knows if it was due to the fact that it was close to closing time and she had to answer one more call but hey it's still your companies operating hours and you need to be more pleasant when dealing with customers in the phone.
