Dunwell Roofing were contracted to fix my roof after a storm stripped most of the slates from the…read morefront, lifted off the top flashing and caused extensive damage to the back (fact) Dunwell roofing did not complete the work to a satisfactory level and were asked back 5 times - every time they claimed they had gone up and "fixed it" however water still came through and there was no evidence they had been on the roof (fact) Mr Bennet put pressure on me to pay the invoice even though I was not happy with his work (fact) Due to continued damage to my flat - because there was water still coming in due to the work Dunwell Roofing carried out, or rather did not carry out - I had to contract a separate roofer (fact) The second roofer was horrified at the work, or lack of it, that Dunwell had carried out (fact). They took photos and I forwarded these to Mr Bennet at Dunwell Roofing (fact). Mr Bennet's response was very aggressive and he blamed previous work on the roof - this makes no sense as the storm damage pretty much stripped the roof and he was paid to fix whatever problems there were, which he did not (fact) When asked for a refund or compensation (I had incurred additional costs due to hiring a second roofer) he became increasingly aggressive and finally unresponsive (fact) Both Trading Standards and the Police were aware of Dunwell Roofing and Mr Bennet before I contacted them (fact). I have forwarded my documentation to them and am happy to share it with anyone else (fact)

As I was in a panic thinking this was a big job Mr Bennett reasured me by telling me it was a matter of putting new hooks on the gutters. I got the Estimate for work to be done the same day and he sent his men out a few days later after most of the snow had gone and done the repairs at a very reasonable price. The quote was reasonable, was broken down clearly so I could see exactly what I was paying for. On site, the team were efficient and clean, the place was looked after and all of the work done on time and to budget. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the business owner that I chose to get him to complete other aspects of repair and upgrading to my flat. Then one year on, there was a problem with a light fitting which by now was out of warranty. Not a problem for these guys! Andrew sourced a replacement at no charge to me. I have recommended them to loads of friends as a great handyman service, but also they are a lot more than that, carrying out painting, kitchen fitting, tiling and bathroom repair work with ease and a great finish to all of their work. Two of the three times we've booked him he has cancelled/rescheduled on the day. When he has been here he's been great; efficient and personable. Unfortunately its the cancellations and his lack of flexibility that will prevent me from booking his services again. Despite having booked in over a month in advance, and prepared the flat for the work I needed done, Andrew told me half an hour after estimated arrival time that he wouldn't be able to make it as he had another commitment two hours later. No flexibility was offered in upcoming weekend availability as compensation.Whilst its great a local business is getting enough work to be booked so far in advance, it's a shame, as I would have otherwise been happy to continue using his services. However for somebody with little spare time, who books weeks in advance, I just can't risk being let down again.
