The music playing at lunch time was a mix of international music, that's a plus as it gave me the feeling of being in a mini vacation. In brief, I'd recommend this New Castle pub & restaurant if you are around Panora Mall.

I used to go to their…read moreother branches that were around downtown Ankara when I was in college. 10 years after college, I am back to Ankara for personal and business reasons and I am glad to see that they now have a branch on my neighborhood. It is certainly a nice place, good service and a very nice patio. Well yes, they also a have good heating system that compliments the patio and I was able to enjoy it in late October. Prices are high though; I paid 36 TL for 2 pints of Guinness. It is relatively OK based on the current exchange rates; at 2.25TL = 1 USD, you pay $8 for a pint, which is kind of equivalent to the price you would pay T a similar place in USA...that being said, consider the purchasing power parity, and think about paying $18 per pint of Guinness, this place would be out of business if this was its pricing policy in USA. I automatically assign 4 stars to any bar that carry a good stout (preferably Guinness) and knows how to pout it...so why 3? Their pours has a metal smell, they may need maintain their N2 system, also they do not have any fish and chips in their menu. Still, it is one of the nicer bars that you would enjoy in Ankara, if you do not mind the price. Cheers!

well, this is an upscale pub with large indoor and outdoor seating area, a swimming pool (open only…read morein summer), large screen TVs, comfy pillow on grass area, pool and dart, and a large group of friendly staff. a lot of opportunities. pool pub has been in business since 1995, their original place is located in the city centre, on Ugur Mumcu street; this one is their second branch. paying 9 bucks for an average domestic pilsener may hurt, and this shares the blame with the government due ti high tax rates on hard and soft liquor. I only had beer here, in a nice chilly October night of Ankara, they have a great heating system and it helps you enjoy fresh air while sipping your beer...smoking is a problem, just like many other venues in Turkey. I wish they had fans to circulate air, so non smokers would not be penalized and could still enjoy the patio. Their beer selection is not very impressive, that is why they lost 1 star.
