For me, there's something sort of magic about flying in a helicopter. It's so different from a plane. The sensation is closer to one of weightlessness than speed.
Anyway, on a bright day I can't think of better or more unique way to see a place than with a birds eye view in a chopper.
Pterodactyl helicopters specialises in tours on the scenic rim in greater Brisbane. Not only is the view astonishingly gorgeous, the pilot - Mick - is delightful too! It's amazing how many amazing places are just a few minutes flight (and there's something freaking fabulous about arriving by helicopter and being greeted with bubbles by the winemaker himself...).
That said, there isn't much Pterodactyl can't do - scenic tours, hop skip and jump stops at the must-see locations in the area, aerial photography sessions, wedding transfers... even national paintball field ferrying.
In extreme convenience style, they can even collect you in Ipswich if you don't fancy the drive to Lake Manchester.
