I credit much of my growth to incorporating her goddess candle and bath soaks into my new moon routine. She's intuitive and crafty, when I commissioned her to make candles for my birthday party last year she nailed it. Mind you, I only offered her "sparkly and blue/purple" as descriptors! The candles were periwinkle votives with gold sparkles and a feminine, relaxing scent. Above and beyond usual favors! I am excited for her brick and mortar vision manifesting, and went the opening weekend for a crystal reading. She told me what all the crystals meant and even sent me home with some, as well as Palo Santo and a ritual made just for my current needs. Highly recommend!

I've been a longtime fan of The Pentacle Path online store so I was thrilled to find out she has a real shop for tarot readings and more. Well, a sort of pop-up located inside of Supernatural Lingerie, but its her own space and it's comfortable and cool so thats good enough for me. Shiva is so sweet and insightful - she knows her way around a tarot deck, let me tell you. I also appreciate her sincerity and honesty, she has a really refreshing take on all things mystical that even this jaded New Yorker can get behind. I only wish she was on the east coast! So do yourself a favor, fire up those magical crystals and book a session.

I also should mention, over the years I've picked up a few candles from there and I've really enjoyed burning them as well. My favorite was the personalized one I got a few years ago after I had a card reading. I'll definitely be back to this gem soon!

What is also unique about this shop is the many classes and services that are provided. Like sound bath related to the moons or based on grounding your chakras. Definitely great for relaxing. They also offer bone throwing readings and even have space rentals for those who are wanting to host at a slot for tarot readings, meetings, metaphysical classes of all kinds. My reading with Jennifer was a nightmare; she said, in more clinical style therapy speak terms, that I was cursed and needed a $300 diagnostic test to identify my blocks, and that after doing so, in future sessions we would work towards lifting my curse. Of course, she didn't use this language as it would raise suspicions, but I turned her down saying I did not have the money, but really because I was so shocked at how brazenly she began to ask for large sums of money on a first reading, and how urgent she made it seem. She even went ahead and said that I must not be serious about making a happy life for myself by working with her, and that if I was, financial issues shouldn't be holding me back and that I should budget for sessions with her. Unreal. I genuinely think this lounge is good at using high pressure sales tactics and hitting at core emotions to get potentially vulnerable and desperate people to spend A LOT of money for their services.

Since my last review in 2021, I have frequented this shop a TON and this year I basically have gone every week. I have gotten very into the metaphysical, so I initially began shopping here more frequently because of their incredible and diverse crystal selection. I particularly love their mystery bags that the employees intentionally and thoughtfully curate! They are great to buy for yourself or your loved ones and it's a unique and thoughtful kind of gift that those who are interested in crystals, incense, candles, and holistic goodies will really appreciate! I've also done two different tarot readings, one was a 15 minute walk in that I was able to pop in and do in the same day, and the other one was a thoughtful gift my friend had gotten me. Both readings were so lovely and spot on as well! As of this year, I've begun to take their CLASSES! They offer a ton of incredible classes, taught by their incredible employees who are subject matter experts in their fields! I've taken Tarot 1 (January 2025), Tarot 2 (February 2025), and Lenormand (April 2025) classes with Janis and The Magic of Astrology (March 2025) with Jorie! All have been incredible and hence why I keep coming back! Be sure to pay attention to their class offerings as the ones so far I've signed up for are multi-week ones, but they also offer one-time, one-off classes and I have a couple of those coming up in the next few months here! It is always the most incredible time at Downtown Tarot Company! Everyone who works here is so friendly and welcoming, very helpful to any and all questions you might have, and are always open to suggestions on what other merchandise you want to see in the store!!
