Valentina (or V) was such a fun, unexpected gift in our personal and business lives. (Reviewing as our business for reasons you'll see in a minute...) V stepped into our little seaside town, and our bookshop owner immediately texted us that she had wonderful vibes, and we should have her visit our historic B&B. We gathered a small group of friends on a Sunday night for individual readings, which were enjoyable, and for some, rather emotional. Visited Valentina for a Crossed Over reading shortly after the unexpected passing of my mom. She definitely told me things about my mom that she couldn't have known, right down to my mom's subtly sassy personality. I walked into it open-minded and hopeful, I left with joyful tears. The only bad part is that it had to end. I mean, if you had the chance to communicate with someone you lost, would you want it to last only 3 hours? I ended up feeling sad and missing my mom even more the next day - kind of like I had reopened the wound from six months prior. I only say that to ensure that if you're reading this, use caution if your heart is sensitive. The readings are done in her apartment and her home is setup to make any visitor feel very comfortable. I have developed an astute BS detector and can pick out the charlatans and "for entertainment purposes only" type..I can assure you she legitimately has a gift.. So I first contacted Valentina on very short notice on a Friday evening and she graciously accepted my appointment last minute. I think she understood my sense of urgency in solving the aftermath of a problem I was facing, and made herself available to me in her desire to serve and help others. . When I met her for my reading, I immediately felt the warmth and spirit of the space she has created. She is so genuine about it all, and owns her gift, even as it can be a blessing and a curse.There is a lot of Love and reverence for her gift, and she treats you and the process with the utmost respect it deserves. She goes out of her way to explain every part of her process - the do's and don'ts - in order to help the client become familiar with how a reading with her works. She definitely makes you feel comfortable as she lights candles, incense, and smudges the space. It's important to note how well she prepares her ceremony with ritual and prayer which sets the tone for the reading. On a side note: the thing that impressed me above all else was the prep work she does prior to your meeting. First, she does a short pre-interview asking a few pertinent questions about yourself (i.e. First name only...Is the reading for yourself or a loved one who has crossed over?, etc). She asks for a recent photo so she can read your energy and pick up on your vibes. She asks you to clear your mind and focus on your questions and/or issues you want to discuss. One thing I appreciated is she welcomed me into her home and allowed me the space to acclimate to the energy. She plays soft music and lets you get comfortable which is very important and wise of her to provide the best reading possible. I was surprised to learn she did a "pre-reading" on me and wrote down 2-3 pages of notes that she picked up about me. Let's just say there were a several things she wrote down ahead of time that NO ONE could have known about. It was very impressive. Ultimately, this pre-read is an opportunity she uses to prove her bona fides to her client so they open up and trust her. For example, she had written down the word "cataracts" on her notebook, and incredibly, this weekend, I just learned my dad has developed cataracts, That blew my mind. Another example: we both have a connection to Redondo Beach, CA, where we both lived at one point, and there is a restaurant in the harbor there called Kincaids. Great seafood and steaks. So she had the word "Kindcaids" written down on her notebook to show me. I bursted out laughing bc the day before was Thanksgiving, and my family and I were dining in Sarasota at a restaurant in the marina that we all agreed reminded us of the place we all used to go to in Redondo Beach called...wait for it...Kincaids. We each individually said the name Kincaid's in the conversation. It was such a specific "hit" that validated to me her gift, and allowed me to feel even more comfortable opening up to her.
