We…read morehad no idea the level of care our daughter needed, how the program worked or what thos would look like for our family in the upcoming months. From the first assessment we were very thoroughly informed about all the ins and outs of the program and that this was definitely where our daughter needed to be to work through what was happening and begin to heal. The program taught our daughter and us( through multi family group sessions that we attended weekly) how tomwork through the hard feelings and discomfort. I was always impressed to see how involved and willing to participate the clients were and they seemed to really support eachother. Our daughter built some great relationships with therapists and other clients. We had regular sessions with her dietitian as well which was extremely helpful. Questions and issues I had were always dealt with promptly and I never felt like it was a bother for the staff to help. I think my favorite thing were the weekly therapy sessions with my daughter and Becca, she was so easy to talk to and had an incredible way of connecting with my daughter and it was a really great time of communicating for all of us. I was actually kind of sad when I knew we would no longer be having those in person sessions. Beyond happy that my.daughter was healing and moving forward to IOP but sad to no longer see the faces of those who helped her get to this point! Our daughter attended IOP virtually which was a good next step and Inloved that she got to continue her sessions with Becca and her dietitian Becky. Keeping consistent with those she had built bonds with was very important. Overall, Renfrew saved our daughter's life and I am grateful to the whole staff and and the friends our daughter made throughout the program. Without those relationships, she would've continued to struggle. I can't thank them enough for all they did for us and how important family involvement was for her success!

The person told me yes,so I went, after dedicating my 4th Saturday I finally asked when are u going to sign the paper work that I need? My health is consistently deteriorating& my surgery isn't about "looks" I'm in not stop pain & my BP was 200 over 120. Paid my money dedicated my time for what should have been 1-2 visits!! I'm the 1st to admit I indeed need therapy but me getting out of pain & being healthy has nothing to do with it! So long story short she never signed the paperwork stating that I'd be OK after my surgery and I've got to start this whole process again! Thx for absolutely nothing!!!

I spent more than 9 months with them and once they triggered my deepest pain, simply told me that I'm not a good fit for them and I should look somewhere else. You never expect to be so deeply hurt and shamed by the people who are "trained" to help bring you healing. The counselors I worked with were not compassionate or empathetic. One of the therapist I worked with, who's also an addict hasn't found his own healing and triggered deep shame in me caused from my abusive father. The other therapist came to his friends rescue and caused me deeper hurt and shame, and then while I was in excruciating pain they caused, kicked me to the curb saying "this is just not a good fit" If they would have admitted they weren't trained to help me and referred me somewhere else that would have been different. Instead, I was the problem. If you actually want to find healing for your childhood traumas this is NOT the place.

James D. Hammons is the very best part of that place!!!…read more He's honestly the first counselor to HELP HELP me!! When I left there, I TOOK HIM WITH ME!! LOL He helps me see a different perspective and I don't just mean another person's perspective..... It's more clinical than that. He educates me on things I speak about & helps me correlate things I wouldn't have otherwise. He explains things I do or how I think/act and makes me feel better about myself. He helps me understand myself in ways I can't alone. As he helps me understand my mind and how it works, it makes it much more useful!! When you know how to use a tool.....you can do SO MUCH MORE with it!! He's helped me to see ahead and see things coming instead of just being impulsive and having major regrets later. He's an INCREDIBLY KIND individual and couldn't be more thoughtful I think if he tried! He's generous and patient and HONEST!! He will meet you where you are and help you up and out of the trench or maybe it's a sink hole he's throwing you a line down in..... If you are like me and have been to numerous counselors, all great ppl!!!, but haven't GROWN with them like you feel you need.... I encourage you MASSIVELY to give James a shot!! You won't be disappointed!! If you've given up on counseling because you couldn't find what you were looking for or needed and your done trying..... Go to James! You will be heard, helped, and lightened by your sessions with him. Now that I've gone to him for quite a while, I noticed A HUGE DIFFERENCE in myself and my life and how I conduct myself and process things whenever I let time go by without seeing him. Honestly, if I had the $, I swear I'd go every two days! Lol I mean that's how helpful he is to me! I can't really describe exactly WHAT it is he has that others don't, but it's something special! You also feel like your talking with a friend instead of "an appointment." It doesn't feel like he's above you. He feels like he's just him, there with you, to help in any way he can. I am GREATLY BLESSED to have him in my life & have received the help he's given.... invaluable!!

In addition to utilizing traditional methods, Dr. Dan also employs EMDR psychotherapy which had amazing results. I had spoken to other therapists in the past, and had achieved some lasting effects, but nothing could have prepared me for the impactful work that we were able to do together in a very short period of time. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first, but after a few sessions, it was truly incredible how much we were able to make progress against some pretty traumatic incidents. Additionally, it should be mentioned that the level of compassion I was treated with was really unmatched. Not only did that help with the therapy, it also guaranteed a high level of trust between the provider and patient. I cannot recommend Dr. Goldstein and the Nashville Psych practice enough. Their high degree of professionalism and the efficacy of treatment is unmatched; and I am eternally gratetful.
