I am impressed with the faculty, very clean overall good staff that I met.But I meet this employee…read moreshe was so rude, aggressive, verbally short ,unfriendly just a negative attitude.Ms Jovanna McNeal, should take some customer service greeting education courses.

My mother moved into the then brand new Brandon Wilde. She loved her apartment and found a "best…read morefriend" she was with daily and that all made me very happy that she was so happy there. The place was beautiful and I thought she would have the life care they promised so it was a win for her and me until the truth came out. I did find it annoying that when a light bulb blew it would be replaced with a lower wattage bulb giving less light so I would replace the replacement with a higher wattage bulb and wondered if the electric bill was more than they expected hence the lower wattage. But that was a minor correctable problem. Things hit the old fan when my mother must have had a mini stroke leaving her confused and she was not allowed to go back to her apartment. So OK, that happens but instead of moving her to the next step of supervised care she was moved to nursing where she was miserable and afraid of her room mate. I expressed that but she still remained in the same room. They told me she wasn't eating and I wondered how hard they were trying to feed her. I was told that the middle or supervised living unit was full then learned that they were taking people from outside of Brandon Wilde for the extra income. So much for buying in for life care. At the time I had my hands full with a life partner that said they wanted to go back to Connecticut otherwise I would have sought legal advice to address the broken promise of three levels of care promised at Brandon Wilde. I pulled my mother out of there and she lived with us for a while in SC until the move. My mom had been in diapers at Brandon Wilde supposedly because she said she was constipated and they were giving her a laxative but with us I was able to get her to eat and no more diapers and she was using the bathroom normally. We all went back to CT where my mother lived with us happily and soon recovered to a degree where she was quite functional but not able to live alone or independently. A few years later when she must have had another mini stroke and then she needed nursing because her brain told her she could no longer walk. All in all it was a heartbreaking time because my mom loved her apartment and cried when she couldn't return to it and she was so miserable in nursing. I don't know if things have changed there but I would make it a point to get an iron clad guarantee that a full three levels of care will be offered so nobody ever has to go from independent living to nursing when there is no need for that drastic a move. I would also say to checkout the intermediate level of care as my recollection recalls that I was never given a full tour and it seemed minimal to me especially when I asked and was told that mom could only have one piece of small furniture she had in her apartment. Not seeing it all was my mistake but my impression was that it wasn't that different than the nursing section. The place was beautiful, new and had enough to enjoy but perhaps not that well organized back then so I'm just saying to use due diligence, ask questions and tour the other areas where your loved one could end up. Obviously this is just one review of my experience from around 1991 so take it as that. Just be sure you know what you will be getting now and when a loved one can no longer be safe without supervision.

My husband had a spinal fusion surgery and before he left the hospital we were contacted by kindred…read moreto inform us that a physical therapist would be calling us later that day to schedule a physical therapy appointment. I didn't hear anything that day which as Tuesday but I was sure he would call by the next day. Nope but the nurse came by and filled out the paperwork needed. When I asked about the physical therapist who would be coming by she acted as if she has no idea about it and said we would have to contact our office. She then got concerned about my husbands heartbeat being a bit high. (This was 2 days after surgery keep in mind) Said that he was obviously not in excruciating pain and was not up and waking around so his heart rate should not be that high. First of all, my husband had been walking around with a walker a few times that morning and had just sat down and fallen asleep 30 minutes before she arrived. He had not been getting much sleep which is to be expected after having a major surgery. Secondly, my husband is not one to scream out crying in front of strangers. He will often cringe but doesn't let others know how much pain he is really in. Needless to say we were annoyed and felt judged. Later on that Friday (4 days after surgery) my husband or I had still not received a call from the physical therapist. However, his orthopedic surgery is nurse did call to check in on him. When I expressed our concerns about a physical therapist not calling to schedule an appointment yet, the nurse from the orthopedic surgeons office told us to call kindred at home to get an appointment set up. So on Friday afternoon my husband called and spoke with Debra. He explained the situation to her that he had not received a call from the physical therapist to schedule an appointment. Debra stated, "we don't make the therapists schedules. They make it theirselves" My husband finished the call and then calls me while I was taking our child to an appointment. When he role me how Debra spoke to him I decided to call myself. So when I did Debra answered and I explained that my husband had just called and needed to find out when he would be hearing from the physical therapist. She of course in an annoyed voice as if I was inconveniencing her said, " Like I told your husband, we do not make their schedules they do it themselves." I then explained to her they he needs to start physical therapy and we wanted to see if someone cold speak with the physical therapist. She then snapped back at me and said, " I already send him a message after I go off the phone with your husband." Now today is Monday. Exactly one week since my husband had his spinal fusion surgery. We still had not received a call. So around 4:30 pm I called kindred at home and this time a different woman picked up. I explained the situation and she was not rude at all. She placed me on hold and I believe she put someone else on the phone to answer our questions about when the physical therapist would contact us to set up an appointment. This woman then answered us after a brief hold and said that the physical therapist would get into contact with us this week to schedule an appointment this week. Tomorrow I do plan to call the number provided in the folder for kindred at home where the president of the company asks to give any praise or complained to him. As a person that has worked in customer service my entire career, I understand that there can be customers that may be challenging, however I felt that they way Debra handled our call as if we were wasting her time on Friday was absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for. There were several ways she could have handled the situation differently. For example, she could have explained that "the therapists schedule the appointments themselves, however I can send the physical therapist that will be seeing your husband a message to remind him to give you a call." Unfortunately, this experience has not been the best, however I hope that from here on out things will be better.

I sadly do NOT recommend sensational kids. We have been going there for years started with speech…read moreand added OT. There was an extreme amount of turn over in the first year, it calmed thankfully because my child thrives on stability. At one point my son was pair with someone new to him, this person left him in the bathroom, on the adult potty by himself with the door wide open where anyone could see. She then came outside to tell me he was in the bathroom, I'm like and you are not with him? The lobby is extremely tight and small even at the new location parents are encouraged to wait outside. Anyways I go to him he is crying, scared, pee and poop all over just a hot mess he was 3. I got my child cleaned up and we left. Now I did report this happening and told them to never pair them again. The office moves locations across town making the commute longer from one therapy to another for my family. I tried my best to get him there on time and never miss unless needed. There are times they marked us absent when we were there, times the teachers were changed without my permission or knowledge, times the teachers would go on vacation and we were not notified there would be no one there for him, times I called out ahead of time they still marked us as coming. Make sure to record and document EVERYTHING. My whole family was sick for about 3-4 weeks, I called them multiple times reminding them we were ill, there was one day about 1.5 weeks in I forgot to call to double check it was canceled, in this time they did not get a voice mail I left as well. Just a hot mess. Anyways we go in Monday to start our normal two visits a week, nothing was said. Tuesday I got an email saying my son's spots are no longer available and I must call every week. I called and tried to speak to someone calmly but frankly she had a tone and I was already mad, I said this is bullshit and she wanted to act high and mighty, I told her to remove him from their location and hung up. I also sent an email with no reply here a week later. Frankly his teachers are great and I know he misses them but those front desk people constantly changing and the way they have spoken to me over the last few months leading up to this has been ridiculous. If you like being disrespected this is the place for you. Still highly upset and probably forever will be.

It looks like you have to record yourself while booking appointments, or they might kick you out…read moreunless you pay a fee for supposedly missing an appointment you never agreed to. When she started this therapy, I noticed a ton of negative reviews (I remember being confused about that), so it seems like they've been removing those to make the place look better than it really is. I know I'm not the only one who's had a rough time here, and I definitely won't be the last. The main problem lies with the office itself; the therapists are great, which is why I tried to stick it out, but in the end, it just wasn't worth it.
