I have been here about 8 times from the end of May, 2024, to mid October 2025. I was stunned reading bad reviews, and what was written that made it so bad. I can tell you that in my experience there, everyone of my nurses, CNA's, & Pt-OT, were absolutely wonderful. I never had to wait for anyone or anything. They treated me with the utmost respect, something I believe is earned. I witnessed many family members yelling and/or speaking so rudely to the staff? They don't get their meds or their food or, or, and more, or's. But I knew that they had because they were either my neighbors or I was in the hall while they were being helped. A lot had sun downing dementia, and wouldn't know what's what, sadly enough. But that isn't the staffs fault. They were trying to explain to them that they did get their meds, or it wasn't quite time. I could go on & on about the issues with the patients & their families, who by the way, most of which only came for a short period of time a few times a week. What I will go on about is the care that I received, as well as the ppl around me. It was amazing. The facility was kept extremely clean. The meals were delicious. Everything was homemade. They had healthy snacks & regular snacks such as puddings, yogurts, ice cream, sorbet, sandwiches, etc., around the clock! The entire staff were all professional and beyond kind to me. I love my nurses & CNA's so much. They became like my second family. They listened to my concerns about my health if I felt it got a bit worse, or if I noticed a new condition, and they would send a msg immediately to my doctors. The PT & OT staff were all amazing to all of their patients! Ppl need to understand that we aren't our nurses only patient. And if we need extra care due to an unexpected situation, they take care of it. So sometimes that requires a bit of waiting. My experience, I never waited. My meals were always hot and delicious. Where can you build your own omelette? Name another facility. You can't as there aren't any. Everything is homemade. I witnessed the pain in the butt patients, and nothing was gonna make them happy, they just wanted to complain. So I would say, don't hesitate to go there. There aren't many good skilled facilities, believe me, and this facility is best. There's around the clock care. , and help is just dialing their ext. Away. Thank you to everyone that works there. lI was in the Providence transitional care center after getting an infection at LCMH after a knee replacement for 7 nights .It was a nightmare The rooms were dirty, the food was awful and the air conditioning was terrible. It was so noisy that I was not able to get any rest. They would bring in carts with linens or meals and they would make a terrible racket and clanking noise as they pushed them down the halls. The workers would shout to each other in the hall so t was impossible to get any rest. Some of the nurses were fine but others and some aides hated working there. They had one old generation Cathode ray tube TV in each room without the ability to change the channel The air vents were filthy and they only mopped the floors 2 or 3 times the 7 nights I was there. They put a lady in my room that screamed all night long and would have done nothing about moving her, until I complained in tears. The people in PT were very nice and talking to them, they said everyone who is an 'inmate" there complains of the same things and NOTING is ever done. Needless to say I could not wait to get out of that hell hole. DO NOT EVER USE THIS FACILITY AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE for anything.. SHAME on them , read more

Yelp's "Review During Covid" statement is inappropriate. Extremely insensitive at the least especially when speaking of a medical care facility. My sweet Mama was at this place less than a month and neglected to the point of having level 4 bedsores which ultimately led to her passing on 12/30/2020. She had NO BEDSORES when checked in, she was being treated for a completely different type of injury. Total MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE. I can't get into the details of what happened because that would not be good for my mental well being. Suffice it to say that it's been just over a year since she was moved out of TCC and I am just now calm enough to review this horrific place. I tried to post this review with no stars but apparently that's not allowed. The place she was moved to after her debridement surgery for her huge bedsore, Bay Crest, isn't much better so I don't have suggestions on where to take your loved ones that need care. These places want to use the excuse that they are short staffed due to Covid then they shouldn't accept more patients. If you have no other choice but to go to TCC or Bay Crest then be prepared to call everyday, at least every 2 hours, to check on your loved one. They usually don't pick up the phone the first time so just keep calling because the life and well-being of your loved one may depend on it. read more

The people at this place make the difference as the place doesn't look like much. They are so skilled and caring. They showed great patience with my dad and joked around with him to make him feel comfortable. They were responsive to his needs. He improved dramatically after his month long stay in the hospital due to their Physical Therapy really pushing him (lovingly). My dad could not medically eat the food, so I can't speak to its quality. read more

Unlike alot of the previous reviews, I am impressed with the level of care that Prov TCC provided for my almost 97yo mom (stroke pt). Drs Yeh, Cheung, Lagasse, exceptional. PT/OT: Marilyn, Suzanne, Dyke, Denisha and others TY! My mom progressed well because of the work and care provided there and is currently in a B&C and doing great!! She walks with a walker and is fairly independent. I was also very grateful for the facilities strict covid policies when Covid was rampant. read more

I give this place one star although my husband, who is an inmate there, says the staff are great. I find this place a great black hole. There is absolutely no decently easy way to get ahold of any staff. While visiting with my husband in the courtyard, where no responsible staff ever engage, I saw that he was semi delirious. I spent 20 minutes after the visit, in the courtyard, calling on the phone for any one to come talk to me. Finally a nurse and a supervisor arrived. I told them my concerns. suspecting a uti. they told me he was fine and no uti. I said something is wrong. that was two days ago. This afternoon my husband called and said it had been determ that he was severely dehydrate and was now getting an IV. it took me two days to reach someone, and then two more days before treatment. There May be lots of nice staff, but they could use a few competent staff. Nothing in this place is transparent or responsive. It is a black hole. read more

This place is horrible! They will prematurely rush you or your elder parent out of the facility knowing they aren't ready. Amy and Marianne, the case workers, are rude, unhelpful, and argumentative. Instead of trying to come up with a plan and resources like a case manager should, they will argue with you and rush you off the phone tell you the doctor will call you regarding what you asked only to never hear from the doctor. PLEASE don't come to this place. If you have another option, exercise it and find a facility with helpful professionals, not these people! read more

Stay away! Unqualified personal that have no business caring for patients. Example, when a patient bp is 58/40, and then 61/40 and the person taking the bp says the machine is broke, tries 3 other machines gets the same reading and does nothing to notify the dr, except to write the reading in patients notes for dr to read some 8 hours later! I'm not medically qualified but I know pressure that low is extremely dangerous. Needless to say, some 8 hours later patients is rushed to ER, and eventually dies! Leaving family devastated beyond belief. I'm only giving 1 star only because I can not post review unless there's a rating. read more

This place is horrible! The only reason why I decided to give it a try for my dad was because it was highly recommend by the physicians and nurses at LCOM. I should have known that was only because they are part of Providence so of course they are going to promote. I must say they do have an excellent P.T. Dept (Socorro). I was pleased with the progress my dad was making (he was only there for one week). I also must acknowledge Michael F. (RN) and Fidelina (CNA). They are the ONLY three good things about this place. I can't say much about the rest. My dad would call the nurse via the call button and they would not respond (same for his roommate). They REFUSED to get an interpreter or the translation pad to communicate with him (he never understood what they were saying). I posted this information on the board and it was continuously ignored. One CNA had the audacity to say "we have to talk to him even if he doesn't understand!"REALLY!? His doctor would not make her schedule rounds. When I called her (she never made contact with me) she had no idea what was going on with my dad. She had to review the chart and still didn't have much answers. I can't leave the social worker out (she's out of this world...I could not believe her). She sounds overworked/ overwhelmed. She also was no help. Once they got the prime days for payment they tried to rush him out to bring in the next CASH COW! This is not a place that I would/will recommend to anyone. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! Do NOT leave them here. My grandma was ignored after hitting the call button and yelling for help after 20 minutes. There was another family telling staff their father was still waiting to be moved into his bed after waiting 30 min. They moved my grandma's room (and others) in the middle of the night. They knew we were coming but the room wasn't ready for us. These people in rehab need rest so why is moving them in the middle of the night a good idea? It's not. My grandma said she was hollering for help at people walking by and they just ignored her. Their response? "It's no excuse but it was during turnover so everyone was a little busy." You're right, that's not an excuse. You work at a place where most people are in pain. You hear someone yelling for help, you quit your turnover and assist your guests. read more

My grandmother had to stay here for a couple weeks and every time I've been here to visit the nurses or care givers what ever their title is are on their phones not paying attention to my grandmother or her room neighbor. I've seen them with their phones charging accepting phone calls and even having their shoes off just relaxing. I've even heard a patient in a neighboring room yelling out for help and no nurses went out to help. I'm not sure if they have to stay in their assigned rooms or anything but when a patient is shouting for help I'd assume someone would run to help but nobody did just popped their heads out of the room to look what was happening. read more

My mother was here for pelvis hip and lumbar fractures. Nurses were very efficient and kind to her. There was an issue with staff asking same question about Covid vaccines and them having discrepancies on recording all shots and Booster dates. Having to be asked for proof multiple times on that issue and advance directive was frustrating. Other than that they are all very professional. read more

Do not leave your loved ones here!! My mother was transferred here for recovery from a stroke and stayed here less than 24 hours. They knew she could not walk on her own and has diabetes, her incompetent nurse LISA refused and complained whenever she asked to use the bathroom. She yelled at my mother and threw the cane at her so she could walk on her own when my mother just had a stroke and literally could not walk on her own. She needs to be fired for her lack of compassion and her refusal to help a patient when it's literally her job to help her. I have no idea how this place supposedly has rewards and recognition when they have terrible reviews. I had read the reviews and hoped it would be better but the reviews do not lie. If you care about your loved ones do not risk leaving them here. I'm just thankful my mother was not there longer and suffered more abuse during her most needing time. If there is a supervisor reading this, you need to train your nurses to be more compassionate and treat their patients better. Until then avoid this place like the plague!!! read more

I was a patent at LCM (broken hip) and was sen to the Transitional Care Center. This was a terrible experience from day one. I did not get a clear understand of my treatment plan nor what was expected from me in order to be released. The caregiver training which was required for my family members was a joke. Had my husband check it out beforehand and it was all good..... My Dad came here from Torrance Memorial after he had a mild stroke...... The nurses seemed nice, We had relatives checking on him everyday. They have activities, a rec. room with a large t.v , piano, and vending machines. Also had arts and crafts for their patients. My Dad was sharing a room with an older man who was not able to move much....when i informed the nurse that her patient had his leg stuck between the bed rail and the mattress she just looked at me and went in the room to fix it but didn't say one word, no thank you, ill be right there...NOTHING!!!....I wasn't telling her how to do her job I was just doing what I would hope someone would do if that was my Dad. read more

Not the best place, but not the worst place for a patient. I visited a few times to see my grandfather while he was admitted. The location was pretty clean, but it is very small and enclosed. The staff would often forget about giving meals to the patients or it would come hours later and may be something completely different. Visiting hours are 24/7, the front door closes at 8p but you can be ringed in if you come later. They have a rock fountain in the middle of where the patient rooms surround similar to a block with a missing center; at times children from visiting families will play there and make extremely loud noises that can be heard in the patients rooms, since all patients rooms have a sliding glass door to lead them to the fountain. I was quite surprised to a 2005 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes display during my recent trip. read more

If you truly love your loved one in need of care and You don't have options, proceed with great care. You need to have someone supervise the nursing staff to ensure they do their job. The care at this place is what you would expect from a third world country. While I don't expect Hoag quality nurses, I expect a nursing staff that truly cares. I almost lost my father while he was in this place. They refused to transport him to the ER when he was having trouble breathing. The called so-called on-call Doctor at little Company of Mary who also downplayed my dad's condition. Almost exactly three hours after I begged them to move my dad to the hospital, my dad nearly lost his life. Even after my mom begged them to dial 911, they still refused. It was my mother who dialed 911 and was able to get my dad to Torrance Memorial where he has been in ICU since. I am exploring legal action. read more

I've had the opportunity to have both of my parents in this facility over the past few years. Each stay was at least 2 weeks in length. I went out of my way to request this place based on the 5 Star Rating on the Medicare.gov website. The building is a little dated, but I found it otherwise very clean. My parents both received great care and were happy with the stay. I had checked out several other facilities nearby and TCC was by far the nicest looking and best run. The doctors, nurses, and assistants were all courteous and polite. If I needed transitional care after hospitalization, I would come here myself. read more

In the COVID-19 environment we cannot be there as family in person so we try to FaceTime my father. Since he cannot swipe it on we have to go through the nursing station. Each time we try it takes anywhere from 30-90 minutes to get through to someone. We often get told that they will call us from his iPad and do not, or call back later, or for us to call via FaceTime and no one picks up, or we can transferred and disconnected. There are a few wonderful nurses but and Dr. Kim is wonderful however there is a bigger problem in that facility is not equipped to facilitate FaceTime connections or phone calls, leaving your beloved family member isolated and not in contact with family, void of stimulation. We cannot wait to leave so that we can really see how our father is doing because we are wearing down the the hours each days to get through to him. read more

My grandpa asked for water and a lady by the name of Caroline was so rude . So after waiting for about 45min I went to ask again and so she told me yeah yeah yeah it's on the way. So when the other nurse was walking up with the water she was acting like he was on a leash acting as if she was pulling him into the room saying hurry hurry as if it was a joke my grandpa is 85 years and has pneumonia so for her to act as if his health is a joke is not ok. Now that my husband has been in and out of the hospital (Torrance Memorial and Providence Little Company of Mary) since April 2013 on a fairly regular basis, I am getting a crash course in transitional care centers provided by or adjacent to Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance. After his numerous hospital visits for severe infections, kidney failure and most recently a minor heart attack and stroke, he has spent several weeks at The Earlwood Care Center (three times), Providence Transitional Care Center (once) and Providence Little Company of Mary San Pedro Rehab Center (once) I will rate all three centers. My husband was brought here by ambulance at around 7 pm one evening from Little Company of Mary in Torrance, and was basically dumped in his room and ignored. When we arrived, he had not eaten an evening meal (he had not eaten all day) and the nurse on duty told us she thought he had already eaten before he left the hospital. I asked her to order a meal, which she said she did, and promptly went off duty. She had not, and we had to beg for food, which he did not receive until 10 pm. There was hardly any staff around to serve just six patients and we had to visit every day to make sure his needs were being met. They could not be bothered to don the robes and gloves necessary before entering his room since he was infectious. After begging them to take his vitals, a male nurse eventually gave him a Tylenol and did his best to get my husband comfortable. We had to ask for water, food and his meds - which no one seemed inclined to give. The next day he was transported by ambulance for dialysis and when he came back to his room he had a severe infection and temperature. No one called his family to inform us of this. When we arrived to visit the next morning, his room was empty. We asked a very sullen nurse where he was, and was told he had been sent to Emergency and to wait for a doctor. We waited for twenty minutes, and were then told he was severely infectious and had been rushed to Emergency. The attitude of the staff, except for the nurse on the reception desk phone, stunk. Mean faces, non-caring, several bitching about their lunch breaks, etc. Horrendous attitudes and definitely not "care givers." I went back several times to pick up clothing he had left behind, and it was the same don't care attitude. The atmosphere between many of the nurses appeared to be strained and it certainly was not a place I would want my husband to return to. As a result of their lack of care, my husband had suffered a stroke, along with two infections and spent five more days at Little Company of Mary ICU, four days in Coronary Care and he is now back at Earlwood where he has spent most time this year. http://www.earlwoodcarecenter.com. Although the property is older than the other two, and the noise level is sometimes quite loud, this center appears to have the most caring staff of the three in question. They might be a little preoccupied at times - but they have given my husband the best care of the three centers. They all know his name and make every attempt to get to know his family and his needs. The food is below par in all of the centers, and it is not great here either. However, the rehab staff is amazing and do all they can to speed recovery. (The Royalwood is a disaster, so I won't bother to review it. I did a quick tour and was horrified by the noise and constant clanging of bells. It was like bedlam.) read more

My husband was transferred to this Providence TCC after spending almost 2 months in hospital from emergency abdominal surgery. The nurses are very experienced and provide compassionate care for him. Of course there are times that he has to wait after ringing for a nurse, but that is to be expected when the staff has to cover more than just one patient. He can either push the nurse button on the TV control, or call direct via phone, one of two nurses per shift - CNA or RN assigned to him. The physical and occupational therapy is very good, and all together my husband gets 3 sessions per day, not counting the time he also spends with a speech/swallow therapist who is helping him develop his swallow muscles. The facility is kept very clean and never smells bad, like many long term care places that I have been in. I am very grateful for his top-notch care. read more

TCC provides top notch hospital rooms in nursing home setting. Clean and quiet not like regular nursing homes. Nurses are present 24/7 not like regular nursing homes, and all the equipments are state of the art. My mother was lucky to be transferred to TCC from a regular nursing home, and she spent last few days of her life in peaceful, professional and quiet setting. I am so thankful for this facility, its staff and Providence Trinity Hospice service. US News award is well deserved. read more

Seriously, this place got Best Nursing Home? I'd hate to see the worst if this is the best. My dad was there when he broke his hip. The doctor said they would do physical therapy three times a day. He was lucky if they did it once a day. The food was so bad, we had to bring him meals. The nurses were to check on him and turn him once an hour. They walked in the room, didn't say a word, didn't even look at you, and would sign a sheet and walk out. One night, he got diarrhea and could get no help. He got up himself -- with a recent hip replacement -- and had to get himself to the bathroom. He sat in there for well over an hour and rang the bell. Someone came in finally and said, "Are you okay?" He said no, and she disappeared, never to return, and he had to get himself back to bed. They dropped a couple pills on the floor, picked them up and gave them to him to take. We finally thought he'd be better off at home, and the head of nursing was refusing to release him because he hadn't had the physical therapy to show him how to get in and out of the car and he couldn't have that till the next day. I asked to see her, and she refused to see anyone. So I sent someone to tell her we would leave without it. She relented and had them give him the therapy, which took FIVE MINUTES. I watched it. They were just trying to keep him there for the $$$$ I would hate to see a patient there who didn't have friends or relatives there each and every day for hours to help because they're not going to get any from the staff. read more

My husband went through 2 major surgeries in a coupe of weeks - he was moved to this facility and after visiting him several times with him not being allowed to go to the toilet because it was a Holiday - he was having to lay in his own feces (they wanted him examined by a physical therapist - being a long weekend, he had to remain in bed and not get out). I made the decision to have him released early due to this and the fact that his call button did not work. A worker, speaking through her teeth at me when we were leaving the facility told me she did not want him to drive - I told her no worries - he was still affected by the anesthesia and pain meds. The witch turned him into the DMV and now we have to go through an ordeal for him to retain his license. I am positive she did this in retaliation for them not making money on him staying for weeks. I was horrified by the care he was NOT getting and felt I made the right choice for his health. Long weekend or not - that is not right. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything. read more

I was in this facility for 9 days in May, 2013. I was very impressed with how professional, polite, and thorough the staff was. They treated me extremely well. I have learned in my few hospital stays that, as in life, a little honey gets more good treatment than a little vinegar. I didn't feel my best as my broken leg healed, but I kept up a determined effort to be polite, grateful, and cheerful to the nursing staff, and the effort paid great dividends. I could tell that they were glad to visit me in my room, and they knew that I was interested in helping them help me. I did not make a pest of myself if I needed something. If I wanted something, I would not ring the buzzer, which too many patients would do without any urgent need. instead I would ask for something when I was being visited as part of a normal routine visit. The staff responded to my efforts to be a cooperative patient. The food was exceptional! The kitchen makes everything fresh every day. When you are just laying in bed reading or watching TV, the meal times become something to look forward to. I wish I could go back just for the meals! What a staff! The medical director, Dr. Sherry Sonka-Maarek, would make a point to personally visit each patient every couple of days to see how we were doing. I appreciated this attention very much. She is a very capable administrator and her kindness was much appreciated. We patients don't get the opportunity often enough to thank our caregivers for all of their hard work and diligence when we are not feeling well. I have always heard troubling stories about rehab centers. After tearing up my knee, I was forced to stay at one. I have been here at Providence transitional care center for 3 days now and my worst fears have come true. It started out with trying to get ice packs within the first 24 hours if my stay for severely strained quads. It took close to 2 hours to get my first ice pack. I wanted to ice the quads as much as I could within the first 24 hours. I was only able to get 2 more ice packs over the next 12 hours, even though I was asking for them regularly. Next issue ,and this is the most disturbing, had to do with getting my medications. I am diabetic, so these medications are critical. It was clear from the start that the personnel were unfamiliar with diabetic medications and when they should be administered. Two of the medications I take are before the meal and during the meal. I explained this to them because for the first 24 hours they were bringing them after the meal. They wouldn't change this process for 24 hours until the doctor changed the orders. I also have a strict regiment on when and many units I take of my injectable medicine for diabetes. One injectible's units were reduced by 40%, without any explanation as well as being given at the wrong time. Since we were heading into the weekend, it took me until Sunday to talk to the on call doctor. She would only increase it to a number that was still 30% below my normal dosage. I told her my glucose readings were running 200 and above consistently. She still wouldn't budge. She said talk to the doctor on Monday. The second medication they never filled, I was told 2 days later that it was a formulary, and they didn't carry it. I had been asking for two days with no response. They don't like you to bring your own medication, but I need to and I told them I will. I will have my Endocrinologist call them first thing Monday morning and educate them on dosages and the plan we had worked on to control my blood sugars. They had no business of arbitrarily changing dosages and timing of them. You need to be your own advocate at these places, as patients are not their priority. Be vigilant! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! With the exception of a few nurses and one doctor, the management and staff are lazy & unprofessional. They have taken advantage of the fact that most of the patients are helpless and have no recourse to the poor and/or lack of service. I work in business and I move ten times faster than these people. You would think in medicine, they would have a better sense of urgency. I witnessed many times that a patient would ring the buzzer and they would be disregarded for 10 minutes or more. God forbid that it be for an emergency... because it could mean the difference between life or death. The nurses and assistants erroneously document and/or relay improper information about the patients at the end of their shifts... medication, pain levels, special instructions... and when my family tried to correct them, they either blatantly ignored us or simply stated that it was the instruction (or lack of instruction) from the doctor... a doctor, I might add, that was someone we had never seen or even heard of. There were no patient advocates, no checks and balances, no accountability, no pro-activity. The instructions from my family member's original doctor and surgeon were completely ignored. The medication dosing and equipment specified for use were not followed. On top of all of that, I had to ask the staff to lower their voices several times because they were hollering and cursing and messing around... making it echo loudly in the hallway. Maybe it's just another day at work for them, but the patients have no escape... How are they expected to rest, let alone, sleep? My elderly loved one left LCOM Hospital for rehab and arrived at TCC about 3 wks ago. Overall this place isn't too bad. However, as with all care centers, it is wise to check regularly on your loved one and not to assume they are having all their needs met. As good as TCC may be at times, they do make mistakes. Among the mistakes/errors: 1) unsanitary conditions. A plastic container was not cleaned properly and had feces on it and left on top of the toliet. 2) my loved one was transported by ambulance from the TCC to the surgeon's office for a follow up appointment. The surgeon recognized a wound infection and ordered wound cleansing twice per day. Upon returning to TCC, the nurse was unable to clean the wound or treat my loved one because the doctor's orders were not in the computer system (note: we had been back at TCC a good 30 min). Even though the doctor's orders were given to the Case Manager (Laura) and the doctor on call (Dr. Segal) immediately upon returning. ?!?!? Another annoying thing is that 8 times out of 10 their "I'll be back in 5 minutes" turns into 30 40 60 minutes or more. It's inexcusable. Don't say you'll be back in 5 minutes if you really mean in an hour!! I would definitely avoid Case Manager (Laura) as she is NOT helpful or customer service oriented. Laura provided "protected health information" about my elderly loved one to another family member even though I have POA for Health (!!). Then when I questioned her about what happens when my elderly loved one leaves TCC, she snarkily stared at me and said 'What do you want to know?" She's not forthcoming with information and really has a chip on her shoulder. There were many caring nurses and assistants during my loved one's stay. Roslyn is a hardworking beauty who does her best to care and comfort those under her care. Nerma is a jovial nurse who takes the time to know her residents' likes and dislikes. Vicente is another nurse who goes the extra mile and is a man of his word. Renae is a pleasant nurse who has a gentle demeanor. read more

This place is terrible. Everything from patient care to quality of food. Staff does not care about patients.

My husband was transferred from "Earlwood" to Torrance Memorial for test that were neglected to be done at Earlwood (this place is hell on earth). Torrance Memorial sent him to Providence Transitional Care Center He had knee replacement surgery and I guess this was where he could get rehab. They failed to recongnize the real problem was a bactarical infection He was unable to eat or keep any food down or even get up he also could not pee. They finally gave him med's and loaded him up with pain medication The doctor and health care partner case manager advised he had to leave They did nothing to assist his real medical issue. They moved him to Sunnyside and they allowed him to stay for two weeks They also threw him out because they advised he did not thrive. The Health Care Partner doctor said he was a canidate for hospice. Neither one of these so called nursing facilities took care of him. He passed away on December 8th, 2014 In 7 weeks since his kneww surgery he lost 40lbs. All of these nursing facilities and Health Care Partners staff need to investigated If I was going to write a book the title would be "Murder at Nursing Facility" read more

MY mom was there for 2 months until she eventually died to to Septic Shock that was misdiagnosed for at least a week. Her regular nurses knew she was getting worse not better, as did the PTs and the case manager. THe nurses are afraid to tell the doctors things and there were some things written wrong in her records. I spent everyday there in the summer and then came everyday after work and watched what went on. She was left on the bedpan far too long some of the time, and had to wait for a bed pan far too long sometimes. She was also scolded for not taking her medicines when they made her sick to her stomach. I watched her try and the pills came up most of the time near the end. She was also left for 5 days without going to the bathroom. I think this made her very sick.Rumors were spread to her rotating docotrs that she was not doing her physical therapy so some of the doctors scolded her for not trying. She had a wound that consumed her entire lower leg and needed treatments everyday. She was in there because she had fallen and broken her leg. She was on kumadine so she lost a lot of blood. She went to ICU for a week until she was ready for surgery. In the mean time a hematoma burst in her leg and left a huge hole that started at the knee and went around and down to the bottom of her calf. She was in miserable pain all day every day.THe doctors who come on rounds are rotated in so they are never there that long. Sometimes a few days to a week or week and a half. Her last doctor misdiagnosed her condition and scolded her for not eating and doing her physical therapy. He did not listen to me when I said she is not getting better-she is getting worse. He told me very surly that he was the doctor and if she needed something he would tell me not the other way around. He said she was malnutritioned and she needed to drink Boost and that was the most critical thing now although when she tried she would usually upchuck that too. The sad thing is she came to heel her leg and wound and they were both doing well, especially the wound. Another bad thing is that she had gotten C_diff and they never rechecked her for it to see if it went away. I am so sorry that some of the good nurses who work there do not have more say in her care and she was left in a bad state far too long and died 3 days after she was finnally sent to ER. The first thing they noticed was her urine was brown and thick. Why didn't the nurses see that at TCC. How much attention did they pay? read more
