If it had not been for the nursing staff on the 4th and 2nd floors and house keeping as well there might have been a very different out come.

I went to the er on Sunday January 18, 2026 for complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea,…read morefever. I was given an IV, bloodwork, urine and CT Scan were all taken. I was cleared to leave after about 3 hours. On yesterday Tuesday January 20, 2026 I received an urgent message in MyChart (around 9:30pm) stating that the results from my urine showed I had an infection and an antibiotic was being called into my pharmacy which was too late to get on yesterday. Also, in the message it stated to return to the er if the abdominal pain got any worse or ran another fever more than 101. Also stated that if I had new symptoms to return to the er immediately. Well during the night last night Tuesday January 20, 2026, I became short of breath, increased abdominal pain, headaches, neck and shoulder pain along with fever and a new cough (with reddish mucus). I returned to the er today Wednesday January 21, 2026. The nurses addressed me and told the dr on duty that I was there on Sunday and the symptoms have increased and had new symptoms. Dr Benson Messer talked to me in a manner as if I was illiterate or not educated enough to be spoken to as an adult and didn't know my body. He ordered blood work, flu, covid test and an Xray. I was placed back into the lobby for over 2 hours. Never once did he order a new urine sample as to that's where my infection was found to be in my urine. I explained to him that all my symptoms are a part of my diagnosis which is Klebsiella Pneumoniae this infection can be fatal if not treated properly. He didn't care to listen to me walked out of the triage room and sent me to the lobby. After waiting over 2 hours a nurse called me to a side room, and I was in there no longer than 5 minutes he walked in and stated that he called me in a cough medication for the shortness of breath and the cough that only started after I became short of breath on last night while trying to sleep. Never once did he address the increased abdominal pain or headaches which is listed on my paperwork as the reason for the visit. I explained that I have a lot of underline health issues and that my immune system isn't like the average being that I've had 6 brain and spine surgeries within the last 5 years also have diabetes. He walked off and the nurse brought me my discharged papers. I've never felt like I didn't matter to a healthcare professional like I did on today.

West Columbia, Sunset Blvd…read more We came here for planned delivery, so L&D and post partum, 5th floor East elevators, of north tower. L&D floor we had no complaints very competent. C section requires 2-3 days post op in hospital. For my perspective of the support person I enjoyed my time away from home. First off, you get room service prepared within 90 minutes of order, 3 meals a day included in what you've already paid the hospital. The food was not chef quality but I found it adequate. Another big plus was the 3 piece bathroom within the hospital room. The shower has a curtain but no base only two drains on floor. So water easily can cover the floor which I didn't like but unlimited hot water was soo nice. Also the sofa for support person was nice to me. It is long enough can stretch legs out (5'11") and comfortable for my back. As for my wife's care, it was a hit or miss depending on which nurse shift working. There were a few times she would be scheduled to have pain meds and nurse would not deliver on time but several hours later or sometimes forgot all together. I think the best word to describe a lot of the staff was unreliable. They would say yes we are going to do this then you're left waiting when is it going to get done. This is for baby photographer, nursing, lactation nurse, OB doctor on-call. One of the OB doctors barely spoke English, I thought we were on a hidden camera show how comical his treatment was. The on-call Pediatrician we did like even inquired if she was available afterwards, Dr Mobley. The hospital infrastructure of how it runs is fine just some of the staff create questions to their competency.

I also never got a n actual room and was placed on a bed in the hallway next to the nurses station. The speed of getting back diagnostic results was faster than other hospitals I have been to. The nurses and doctors were kind and respectful in the ER, however the second time I was there, I was admitted and when I got up to the floor, I was cleaned with disinfectant even though I had taken a shower before I went there. MY nude body was inspected by two strictly business nurses for bruises. Then, they actually thought they were going to put me in bed with an alarm so I couldn't get out to use the restroom without permission. I am a perfectly able bodied woman and not a fall risk, so I made it clear that was not going to happen. I felt demeaned like I was a criminal being booked into a jail. The admission room where I spent the night was not designed for sleep with lights shining and flashing everywhere. It looked like the room had no renovation since 1980. While they took special care to disinfect me, the same cannot be said for the room. There was a big dried stain on the bathroom floor that looked like someone urinated on it and it was left to dry. I don't think the floors have been swept and washed in a long time. Communication was not good. I was not told results of tests or plans for surgery for many hours the next morning. I figured out that I was not going to get a procedure when they said I could eat. They were going to wait a day to do surgery and made plans without even consulting with me. Since it was no longer an emergency, I chose to put off the surgery and do more research as to surgeons and hospitals that are specialized for my needs and facilities that are more clean and comfortable. I would NEVER go there again. Also, the second time I entered the ER, I had to wait for 4 hours before being seen even though I had jaundice and possibly needed an emergency procedure for an abdominal blockage.

I went to this location a few months ago because I was struggling with mental health issues. I had…read morerecently been in crisis and did not have access to counseling and came in to get resources and talk to a counselor and medication adjustment. Drove myself and was still shaky but not hysterical or incoherent- calmly explained while I was there to the front desk lady and made it clear I was not suicidal nor did I feel like a danger to myself. Get taken for triage and the nurse is very abrasive- I tell her repeatedly that I do not consider myself suicidal nor a danger to myself and that I am actively seeking resources because I want to live and have just been feeling very hopeless and overwhelmed. She continued to push me for about ten minutes and act like my answer was confusing and badger me about being suicidal until I eventually admitted that "idk maybe I thought about it passively at some point but no I don't want to kill myself" but she took that and labeled me as a suicide risk. Also was very irritable and uncooperative when I tried to give my medical history. Immediately had all my stuff taken and was not allowed to call anyone and the nurse was still very rude and dismissive about my questions and confusion. Was taken to the ward where there (as expected) were empty rooms with nothing to do. This made me more overwhelmed and threw me back into a panic attack after I had already managed to calm myself. Continually tried asking why I was being held and that I had only wanted to talk to a counselor or social worker and was not a danger to myself but was repeatedly dismissed. Even tried asking for my emergency anxiety medication (that is prescribed) or something to help since I was now inconsolable from being so distressed by the situation but was told no. Requested to call my boyfriend but was told I was not allowed and that I had to give them my phone password and that they would call him for me. Got to talk to a social worker very briefly and was told that in order for them to let me leave I had to consent for them to call someone I know and tell them why I was there and what I had said (private medical information) so they could come get me or they would not let me leave. I was also not allowed to be included in the conversation or have any say in how much information the doctor told them or talk to anyone myself. Thankfully I eventually convinced them to let me leave and that I was not a danger after 4 hours in an empty room while not being allowed to directly contact anyone I know or tell them myself why I was there or if I was okay. And after all that I didn't even get to talk to a counselor or have my medication adjusted. Will never be returning to this location

The level of unprofessionalism I encountered from both nurses and doctors was unacceptable. Their demeanor was not only rude but dismissive, especially toward patients with a history of mental health struggles or past medical issues such as substance use. Healthcare providers are supposed to offer compassion and care without judgment, yet here I felt the opposite--treated as "less than" simply because of my medical history. Every patient deserves dignity, respect, and proper medical attention, regardless of their past. To be spoken to in a condescending tone and made to feel like a burden instead of a human being seeking help is not just unprofessional, it is dangerous. If you or a loved one need urgent care, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. No one should have to leave a medical facility feeling worse than when they walked in--emotionally or physically. This clinic urgently needs to re-examine its staff training, ethics, and standards of patient care. * GO TO PRISMA!! LEXINGTON HOSPITALS/URGENT CARES ARE GARBAGE NOW *
