Raymond, our inspector from Proven Termite Solutions, was very professional and reassuring throughout the whole termite treatment process. He was extremely flexible and accommodating, even though we had some last-minute changes and other unique considerations about our project. We had many questions about exactly how the treatment worked, what chemicals would be used, how it would be applied, and any consequences for health or human safety that may arise. He patiently answered all our questions and promptly provided all the information we asked for in order to help us decide on the right treatment option. Merilyn, Chris, and everyone else in the Proven administrative office were incredibly communicative and responsive to all our questions as well. During working hours there was always someone who picked up the phone right away and answered whatever logistical questions we had. If we had technical questions they could not answer, they immediately contacted the right person and followed up with an answer via email, text message, or phone calls, within just a few hours. Merilyn and Chris were especially friendly and patient with our family and made a very strong positive impression on us. It was very helpful to know throughout this stressful process that we were in the hands of such competent and efficient professionals! On the day of the actual treatment, Jorge and Rega were on time and very polite. They repeatedly checked in with us to make sure my concerns and questions were addressed, and took care to clean up and leave the house in great condition. They were clearly very competent and experienced; you get the sense that they have done this a million times. Finally, the PTS warranty also gives us extra reassurance that they are motivated to do a thorough job. Update: Spoke with one of their managers and they resolved the issue for me. 5 stars for their follow up and willingness to fix the issue. I'm glad that everything got sorted out in the end. When I wrote the initial review, I was very upset and might have been overly harsh. It was a hot Sunday and I was slogging under the sun clearing the soil on my own. Do take note that if the landscape changed during their initial consultation and tenting, you need to inform them about it so that they can send additional workers to assist with the setup work. Overall experience has been great. This is our 2nd time using them. Price has always been very reasonable. ====================== Original review: Just hired them to do tenting at my house. And they made a mess of my stone landscape!!! I just paid over $7000 to do my landscape, putting on weed sheets and covering them with stones so that weeds don't grow. Now, when they came, besides using sandbags to weigh down the tarp, they put soil as well. When done, they pushed the soil over my stones, above the weed sheet. Now, weeds are gonna be sprouting above the sheets thru my stones come rainy season!! If they wanted to use soil, they could have separated my stones and not try to cover the soil by trying to pile on my stones above it. And when done, if they are too lazy to scope up the soil and put it back at its original location, just leave it and not mix it up and make a damn mess. I'm beyond upset at this. read more

This review is for the service that Proven Termite Solutions provided a few years ago. Proven Termite Solutions provided fumigation and soil treatment services for my home to exterminate dry wood and subterranean termites. Ross Johnson, the project manager assigned to my case, was exceptional (10 out of 5 stars, if such were possible). He was well versed in all technical aspects of termite treatment. I was also impressed with his outstanding communication and interpersonal skills (super polite!). He was very responsive: Whenever I texted him -- and I did so a bunch of times, he typically replied within minutes! He guided me through the entire process to ensure that I understood what was happening or needed to be done every step of the way: from home inspection for termite damage, through instructions for interior and exterior preparation (like double-bagging consumables and deep-watering the soil adjacent to the foundation) and post-treatment issues. It was a pleasure interacting with Chris and Marilyn in the office; they were cordial and professional, and knew their stuff. I can say the same about the soil treatment crew (I didn't get their names); they answered my questions and were efficient and affable. On the flip side was the tenting/fumigation crew. It wasn't clear exactly what they were doing besides tenting the house; for example, I didn't know when they had turned on the Vikane fumigant, which is the focus of their services and crucially important for health and safety reasons. Though they weren't unfriendly, their communication skills were lacking. The same applies to one of the office staff (not Chris or Marilyn), who sounded unmotivated and slightly rude when I called the day prior to the fumigation. The bottom line: the quality of customer service varies considerably within the company. Due to the configuration of my home, some of the shrubs adjacent to the house had to be tented for fumigation, along with the house. Those shrubs either died or were on life support following fumigation. Though unfortunate, that was not the fault of Proven Termite Solutions, since there were no alternatives for tenting the house. So, from the school of hard knocks, I suggest that you how your house will specifically be tented and whether any plants or other sensitive items would be under the tent. That way, you can either transplant/move those items to avoid unpleasant outcomes ... or straight-up accept the fact that there will be some unpleasant outcomes that you'll have to deal with later. Proven Termite Solutions does charge a fee if an owner requests a change in the treatment date with less than three days' notice. That isn't unreasonable. However, since there is such a fee, it would be really nice for office staff to routinely contact owners 3 days prior to the treatment, to get confirmation. No, this isn't necessary; not at all. However, this is an example of what separates exceptional service from acceptable service. So Proven Termite Solutions falls a bit short in this regard. Very good, but not exceptional. I might've awarded 5 stars, due to the many upsides of Proven Termite Solutions. However, there were a few shortcomings as well, sufficiently to tip the balance toward 4 stars. read more

I got their fumigation service done in July 2021. Their staff, like Jim, were very helpful. All the staff were very courteous and they would explain whatever doubts I had. They even told me about the chemicals they use and that you need a special license to procure them. The cherry on the top of the cake is their 3 year warranty. They offered me a free 3 year warranty when I got the fumigation service in 2021. When I called them in 2024 for their warranty checkup, they were still very courteous. They came home, went down the crawl space and searched for signs of any pests. Jorge and Reza were very kind this time too and they gave me some suggestions, although no major repair work was needed. We initially had fumigation scheduled on the day we closed escrow but because of the sellers having some issues we had to delay escrow close for 2 days and then it changed to 1 day. Well, at first, I was skeptical on going with PTS as I didn't see them check under our crawl space like the other inspectors we got quotes from but we knew we had issues as we have been noticing a lot of issues in the last year or so. Ryan seems to know what he was talking about and they have been in business for awhile. The explanation they gave did make sense regarding why they didn't have to go down there. I got other termite inspector advises as well to calibrate what PTS shared about issues with termites. You have to do your own homework, too, yah know! Our limited free inspection was conducted decently. Ryan came a little late but called ahead to state he would. He checked all around our house. It took a good 45 minute for everything. The several quotes given to us by PTS were confusing especially after what was verbally offered to us. The quotes didn't make sense until I had to call our inspector Ryan several times. We decide to go with the Boracare and subterranean termite treatment with fumigation of our house. They do offer for free the nylofume bags to store our food and goods during our fumigation of our house. I recommend to double bag all consumable goods and things used on the body. It took a good 5 days for the fumigation and treatment to be complete. Even after it was safe to go into the house, the deterrent they put with the fumigation was still in the air causing our eyes to water and irritate. We had to open all the windows and fan the air out. The deterrent was necessary during fumigation. Ryan was very informative, honest and friendly to work with. He understood our needs. The guys doing the treatment and fumigation were very nice and treated the house nicely. I tried to give as much details for my experience with PTS as it's scary to get this done to your home but is necessary when needed. Very pleased with the process. They were very busy in terms of scheduling, but Ryan called us a few days later when he was in the neighborhood for the inspection. Limited inspection, but we had noticed multiple spots of drywood termite droppings and were largely set on fumigation. It's been 20 years since the last fumigation, so was about time. Ryan spent a good amount of time looking around the house in also recommending subterranean treatment -- another inspector also found mud tubes in our crawl space, so we proceeded for both treatments. Very competitive quote, largely because they do all the work in-house, rather than sub-contracting things out. Both teams were very professional and efficient. Subterranean/ground treatment: Eric and Dan injected Termidor all around, including the crawl space. Half our perimeter was soil, so I requested they proceed with trenching rather than just injecting, and they gladly complied. The other half of the perimeter involved drilling holes through the concrete. They even crawled underneath the deck to get the whole perimeter. Drywood/fumigation: Pedro's team of 3 arrived a bit early, even before PG&E, but worked efficiently in tenting the house tightly. They were careful on the roof and around our fruit trees, so nothing was damaged. Only Pedro, the crew chief, entered our house, presumably to guard against inappropriate behavior. He was thorough in inspecting any potential items that weren't bagged properly. When the fumigation was completed two days later, he hid our keys and had the office notify us. Jim was very patient as I asked tons of questions and I walked around the property with him and asked questions about which plants might attract termites, again very patient. Eric and Dan came this morning. They are very courteous and professional. They had advised not to dig into the pavers that is partially surrounding my house as it would cause cracks but they will apply more chemicals in the crawl space, can come back if we change my mind. We have a couple of fixed shelves in the garage that they didn't dig holes for either and said if we are able to move the shelves in the future they can come back to finish the job. Found evidence of drywood termites in the wall while repositioning a TV mount. Then we spotted a few flying ones inside the house. Mark from PTS came out and gave an estimate to tent our house. After that, all communication was clear and the folks at PTS were helpful with any questions we had. The fumigation went as scheduled and the crew was respectful of our property. Hi Chris, You should have treated the entire bar (2x10), the entire infested area, not the 2x6. I was not that knowledgeable about the process back then and I trusted your workers' expertise. Also, you only offered 1 year of warranty at that time knowing the termite could have come back after the warranty. I was told that you are offering a 3-year warranty right now, and the termite treatment is much more thorough. Again, I was told that the termite was caused by the water coming from the window next to it, so I only need the localized treatment, and as I mentioned, I have sealed the window on a yearly basis since, however, the termite problem comes back again. Apparently, you didn't know what you were doing at that time, and now you are arguing with customers for work that you didn't do right in the first place. I will never work with this company again. PTS was recommended by an agent who had worked with them in the past. I gave them a call and no show the first time. That pushed me out a week in their schedule. Finally, the receptionist was able to get an inspector out on a Friday. During the visit I was not impressed at all. Should've read all of their negative reviews. The inspector was more of a salesman and was in a hurry as if he sensed that I was not going to buy into his sales pitch. After a 30 minute inspection, the inspector gave me a one page invoice without a detailed findings or recommendations. After speaking with the Structural Pest Control Board, to my understanding is that for every inspection and by law we are to receive a wood destroying pest control report. This is not the case with PTS and I've also noticed under their license that it was revoked for a violation done in the past with their fumigation. I can see why they now subcontract most their jobs. I've also read in their review that there were stolen goods during their fumigation process. I'm glad I did my research before signing up with them. Disappointed with my agent and disappointed with PTS. Definitely a wake up call! No thanks. I went with another local company. read more

He paid for a cleaning crew to come to our house and extended our warranty for an extra 2 years. Although they caught our Drywood Termite problem on initial inspection, they missed signs of Subterranean Termites in our backyard citing that his inspector overlooked it because he was pressed for time. However, Mark rectified that by giving us a free treatment for Subterranean Termites because he understood that our situation was complicated by other mistakes. When they arrived to tent the house I wasn't totally ready and so Michael helped me to pack up things and put them in the yard. He made a stressful event much less so. Removal was a breeze for me, but the crew had to work very hard. They even put their used drink containers in the garbage which I consider the mark of a great company!
