Over the years we've spent about $4,000 with PCK&B. The showroom is excellent and choices also…read moreexcellent. PCK&B also provides or will order replacement parts. Recently an internal shower cartridge/value they sold our plumber failed after 9 months. PCK&B declined to replace it, which was disappointing because the failed part also cost us about $250 in plumbing fees. Luckily I was able to find the same part on Amazon (I'm stocking up on these guys now) where it is being sold for quite a bit less than what we were charged by the combination of the plumber and PCK&B.

In 2025 from the advice of a contractor I purchased everything that was needed to furnish a to-be-built ADU. All kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, sinks, toiltets the lot. As 2025 passed and there was no permit, and no start date in sight, and on top of that the contractor was less than trust worthy I approached Fergusons to explain the problem: there was no ADU, there was no permit, certainly not in 2025. Fergusons without hesitation refunded me the total $ amount. We were floored. WHAT customer service, WHAT integrity, WHAT goodness walks the floor of this showroom and the management. Integrity is what permeats this business. No matter what future plans are considered there is NO WHERE in SLO county that would get our custom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Fergusons.

It's a moderate size one story place with 1,910 square feet and lots of windows, but that dark hallway remains in plain sight. Several neighbors in our development - Trilogy in Nipomo - had similar problems and installed a version of a skylight called "Solitube". Essentially, it's a mostly clear tube which directs the sun's rays and other outside light through the roof and attic to the ceiling of choice. We visited a nearby house to see how it improved their situation and decided to contact their provider, The Construction Company based in San Luis Obispo. A few days later, Nate examined our house, explained the process, gave us an estimate ($1,858) and scheduled the installation. When that day arrived, Nate was stuck with fixing his truck so his assistant, Isaac, came out to handle the job. Isaac reviewed everything, set up shop and methodically installed the Solatube. It took a little longer than advertised - 5 1/2 hours versus 4 hours - but Isaac explained exactly what needed to be done. Besides being friendly, reasonable guys, Nate and Isaac: - Were flexible with the calendar - Arrived on time - Explained what needed to be done before doing it - Spread covers on the floor and furniture in work areas - Completed the work with a minimum of fuss and delay - Charged a fair price One part of the Solatube is a nightlight which offers dim light at night. It didn't come on the first night and only for a while the 2nd night, so I called them and learned it's tied into out solar system and needs to "ramp up" before providing the full effect. Sure enough, it was fine the 3rd night. We'd recommend The Construction Company for Solatube installations. Check their website for other types of work they provide.

My neighbor finally told me about Aura Hardwood so I beat it up to their shop today and was delighted to discover that not only did they carry the entire hinge assembly, but they were more than happy to sell me only the part that broke! I have over $70 worth of hinges that I have to return to other stores because they didn't work as promised, and this hinge part cost me $.86. I gave the guy a fiver and damn near hugged him, telling him to keep the change and buy himself a soda and I'll be back in a week or two with some homemade brownies. This guy could've easily ripped me off for $15 or $20, but instead he was honest and displayed exceptional customer service skills. While I waited, I had an opportunity to look around the immaculate shop and they've got some really cool product, highly recommend these folks for any of your cabinetry or woodworking needs.

I asked why and answer was they "could not take it in". No other explanation. I confirmed with rental yard that they do repair carpet cleaners. Guess they were just not feeling it.
