I have a crown in my mouth from over 30 yrs ago that I have never had an issue with. I am told they want to put a new one on and make it into the gum this time. I am not happy to have to pay for a second crown in only 5 yrs time. When questioned, VanSykes said it was within range even though on X-rays, it's obvious. Next, I was offered a 'free' tooth mold for veneers if I would have chosen to get them. When I decided not to, they charged me $395 for the mold. I mentioned it to the dentist that he, himself said they were free, and he denied. Then I overpaid one of my procedures by $250, they didn't tell me that I had a credit and when I accidentally found out by from one of the billing folks, they were not going to give it back in case one of my next procedures was not paid. I have insurance and always paid everything on time. Their billing department was incompetent for submitting claims to my insurance and I had to call them many times just to get them to submit the claims properly. Recommend to find somewhere else and be aware of a huge amount of great reviews, not sure how they got them.

I was repeatedly contacted nearly two weeks before my scheduled appointment to confirm, which felt excessive and unnecessary--especially considering their own policy only requires 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Despite confirming and asking for the calls to stop, the repeated contact continued and became intrusive. I specifically requested--twice--that the dentist call me directly so I could discuss the situation. I never received a call back, yet the confirmation calls from staff continued. That lack of communication and respect for my request was disappointing. In the end, I canceled my appointment within their 48-hour policy and have decided not to return. Patients deserve to feel respected, not pressured or harassed over an appointment that is still weeks away. I hope the office takes a closer look at how they handle patient communication moving forward.
