I have had Oswald & 3 of the former agencies over 40 + years. I have left Oswald. Oswald is a…read moresucession to several agencies taken over by larger agencies. Oswald first does not cover any accident issues worth a darn. Oswald requires an ASA certified mechanic which is not a legal policy to require in Ohio. I do not fault ASE certified licensing. However, plenty of non licensed ASE mechanics are out their and have been doing quality repairs for decades. ASE is book learning credentials. I opt for experience hands on. Books are good but doing the tyoe of work is better. No substitute for experience doing the work. Secondly, Oswald wants a person to cancel a policy using their company form written in legal terms waiving the insured individuals rights. No thanks. I provided Motorists Insurance directly written cancelation notice. Oswald & Motorists has ignored this method and through my former electronic funds authorization illegally withdrew a premium payment. Theft in my eyes or incompetence. That is Oswald.. Nincompoops. I have according to my attorney provided legal constructive notice to Motorists Insurane of cancelation. Beware of this new wave of insurance agencies wherein email rather than personal service is routine. If i could give Oswald no star at all it would be more fitting than 1 star.

When I called to add a car to my policy, my agent did not call me back for 6 days. Within a week and a half, trying to get them to add this car to my policy I called the Oswald offices and my agents number 16 times and talked to a human being maybe three times. I finally had to demand to talk to my agents supervisor who then helped me out, but made assumptions and mistakes that made the process longer. When they added the new car they jacked my premiums way up and when I asked them to shop around my agent only looked at two companies, one of which she rejected out of hand and the other which was higher than what I was currently being quoted. She's inefficient, pretty apathetic and not an effective agent. My experience with this company has been terrible, and after 20 years of ensuring both home and auto with this company I am gladly switching.
