You take two of my favorite things and combine them: Yankee Stadium & Metallica…read more You then convince me to pay ridiculous prices for tickets to such an event in such an awesome place. Then I arrive and I realize the seats are a bit too far from the stage, and there's a speaker tower directly in front of me. So why am I giving The Big 4 four stars? Because I still managed to have a great time. The crowd was fun, the music was great, and it was a nice way to spend 7 or 8 hours (minus the insane humidity that day). The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the line for merchandise. Holy hell! 3 guys working 1 table with over 200 people waiting for shirts and whatnot. I was pushed around like I was in a mosh-pit (which I purposely stayed out of for a reason) and by the time I got to the front of the line, the guy working there ignored me for a good 5 minutes like I just didn't exist. But I finally got my t-shirt and raced back to watch Metallica's set. Awesome experience but they do need to work on the merchandise stands and the layout on the field.

"daddy, who are the Yankees playing? cause these guys look SCARY!"…read more- a small frightened kid on the D train as a blackshirted armada disembarked I still can't get over the fact that this show happened, let alone that I was there to witness history! 30 or so years of touring, records, injuries, fights, breakups, deaths, realignments, lawsuits, and much more between these four bands...and they came together to rock 50 thousand people in unity. Anthrax. Megadeth. Slayer. Metallica. the influence these bands have made is legendary. true, they may have "sounded more real" back in the 80s, but they also didn't have the historic catalog of sounds to reach into back then, nor the reputation they have now. Anthrax - always underrated, these guys stole the goddamn show. their sound was tight and they got the crowd pumped for the rest of the bands. setlist was a rousing stomp through 80s thrash classics like "Madhouse", "Antisocial", "Caught in a Mosh", and even a song from the new album. my favorite set of the night. Megadeth - Dave Mustaine should be our President; simple as that. sadly, Mr. Mustaine had a neck injury ("I shouldn't be playing here tonight") so the setlist was short and he didn't seem as energetic as the other times I saw Megadeth. still, tore through classics from all over the place and even a new song to whet our appetites. Slayer - just all-out, balls-to-the-wall aggression and fury. you could blow up a small Third World country with the energy these guys got out of the crowd. my second time seeing them and somehow I'm still not clicking with their live set. I can enjoy the crowd favorites, but the rest is kinda "eh" to me. don't get me wrong, I like them, but of the four bands, probably my least favorite. Metallica - my fourth time seeing them and they again sounded awesome. the setlist DOES need to be switched up - I'd like to hear some more variance - but they threw in "Orion" as a tribute to Cliff Burton. completely solid. for some reason they were the only guys with a stage show - lasers, fog, balloons, explosions, fireworks, and more! there was a unity song where members of all the bands came out to play "Overkill" by Motorhead. the energy, already at a boiling point, erupted. Kerry King standing next to Kirk Hammett! Joey Belladonna and Dave Ellefson side by side! to think, in Europe, they get massive metal festivals all the time! let's outlaw professional sports and give the stadiums over to rock bands. there, I said it! you wanna fight? I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON! the sound was perfect. the bands were great. the weather was warm. 50 thousand people of every type descended upon Yankee Stadium and witnessed history, singing along to every song. my kids will envy me.

Suite/ Club Seats Review!!…read more My experience at Yankee Stadium was a GREAT one! We went to an afternoon game and had the privilege of experiencing the club level suite, and honestly, it was a 10/10 experience! Everything was seamless from the moment we arrived, from security and check in to getting our wristbands and entering the suite. Upstairs, it was more of a formal sit down dining experience with SO many food options. We're talking tacos, lobster tails, French toast with fresh berries. There was truly something for everyone! Downstairs was more relaxed and had many of the same options, plus even more. Burgers, hot dogs, sushi, a candy bar, ice cream with warm cookies. The list goes on! And it doesn't stop there. Outside in the club seats, there's another menu where you can order food and have it brought right to your seat, and it's included with your ticket! Everything is included except beer and wine. There are also coolers stocked with soda and water that you can grab whenever you want, plus peanuts. The staff constantly comes around to check on you, take orders, and bring drinks. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The only con is THE SUN! If you're going to an afternoon game on a hot day, be prepared because there is absolutely no shade. You WILL feel that sun! But the pro is that you're sitting close to the players and right in the middle of all the action, so the experience is hard to beat. We also lucked up with a little extra bonus because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in town to play the Jets, so some of the players were at the game. We even got to see Baker Mayfield, which was pretty sweet! And because celebrities are often in the suites, that's another fun perk to keep in mind. The food was AMAZING, the service was excellent, and the entire experience was worth every penny. If you've been on the fence about splurging on club seats and getting that suite experience at Yankee Stadium, JUST GO FOR IT! You won't regret it. 10/10. Absolutely worth it!

Walking up to the building, it's part of the Hostos campus, a couple blocks south of 149th St - Grand Concourse 4 train subway stop. For other transportation, there are bus stops and I saw street and structure parking close by. Entering the building on Grand Concourse there were staff in the foyer security area asking if visitors were there for the show, then directing them to the right which led to an open atrium. This space is open to the few floors above, which looked like classrooms and offices; on the right were a small box office and a couple doors to the auditorium. I liked how festive the atrium was decorated. The line was short to pick up to tickets, within 5 minutes of arriving I was headed to my seat. Staff was friendly inside the theater, welcoming and ready to bring each attendee to their seat. A little mixup on where my seat was located at first though easily resolved. The theatre is pretty large, with about 800-900 in cushioned seats. Although the show started about 20 minutes late, the performances went smoothly for the most part and I enjoyed the choreography snd beautiful costumes. The facilities were solid and very sufficient for the show that day. After the show, the performers came out to greet the audience in the lobby, they also had tables set up before and after the show with Chinese New Year merch. Bathrooms available.

I've been coming here since I was a kid and the production quality is top notch. They often host companies that give voice to POC. I especially love when they have ballet and flamenco performances. The theatre is not large but it's not small either (I'd guess that it sits around 400 people). I love their mission of making the arts accessible and I think more people should take advantage of this great resource.
