Chelsie H. Did a great job. Made sure I was comfortable and kept me informed about the process…read morethrough out I had a manicure and a facial. Kenneth Shuler was busy and everyone seemed to enjoy being there customers, students and the instructors. I will be returning to use their services.

The teachers are horrible & provide no real assistance to helping their students. They tell them…read morehow well they are doing instead of properly correcting them. I started with Student 1 (S1), who I felt had been brand new due to the shampoo I received. I nicely asked S1 if she could wash my hair a little better because I had a lot of gel in it. I had asked that of her because NO water or shampoo touched my hairline, where u could feel the sticky gel by touch. S1 also left shampoo in the middle of my hair because she didn't move my hair while rinsing. Once seated, she started to comb my hair out by using a rat-tail comb and began combing from the ROOT. I asked if she had a wide tooth comb to detangle. I have naturally, soft curly hair, never needed a perm. I do not have a tight curl pattern, 4C or what some would consider hard to manage hair. I have always been complemented on my hair by both teachers & students in that school and never had a problem. S1 was started off pinning the rollers incorrectly and an another student corrected her. S1 did not comb the sections of hair before rolling and teacher 1 finally corrected. I felt S1 re-roll a section 4 times, mind you I only 5 rollers at this point. I said, "if you're nervous about rolling my hair, we can change the style and do a blowout if you're better at that style, whatever is easiest for you". I thought I was being accommodating not offensive. Soon after she, S1 walks away. Student 2 (S2), said she was upset and S2 began to roll my hair. S2 then walks away to check on S1. Student 3 (S3) starts doing my hair & tugging at it with an attitude. Teacher 1 walks by. I say please go check on S1, I hope I didn't upset her. Teacher 1 returned. S3 tells the teacher 1, she has to leave she can't finish my hair. Teacher 1 starts to roll my hair, I asked" is she ok?" and teacher 1, replied, no! Teacher 1 rolls the last 4 rollers and placed under the dryer for over an hour. It's doesn't take my hair that long to dry. Teacher 2 & 3 walked by several times and just looked at me as they did while this whole thing played out. The dryer stopped and asked a random student, if someone could check to make sure I'm dry. Teacher 1 return and says I was busy helping with a twist. It was 4 people "helping" with that twist. I watched them as I was the only other client left. Teacher 1 told me Ms. Tanya (teacher 2) will have to finish your hair I'm leaving. I sat and no one came. I started to take out the rollers and another random student came to help and she apologized for me having to work my own hair. Upon paying for this horrible experience, instead of just walking out, I asked, why was she so upset and teachers being nasty. I was told they were all upset at a TEXT S1 saw on my phone and at a RACIAL comment. While speaking to my mother (who frequents the school) and recognizes most of the students, she asked who was doing my hair? I replied, a white girl with red hair/red bob. I ask, how could she be offended by that comment she was already gone. A TEACHER overheard it and was offended. But when describing to a TEACHER, the student who HELPED take out the rollers, I said the BLACK girl with the braids going back. Nobody seemed to be OFFENDED by that description. I was the last person in the school. 1:30 to 4:45. I counted 4 teachers, all completely ignored me and refused to help. I believe the receptionist was also teacher or supervisor & was very off putting. I looked ridiculous walking out of that school and was told to call Ms. Nella on Monday and it's 4:45 Friday.
