On vacation and found out we need a dog boarding place for a night and a day. Over the phone was told my dog needs to be people friendly and house broken. Yes my dog is people friendly and house broken but we are on vacation and I was told if my dog has an accident it's an extra $20 to clean and that the dog would be caged for the duration of there time. In my opinion this is considered animal cruelty. I'll give ya 2 stars for at least telling me this over the phone. Someone should definitely report this business if this was the truth. I rather stay with my beautiful boy instead of attending the event I have to go. This kind of treatment could cause damage to a dog especially rescue pups and rescue dogs. read more

We had a great experience. We dropped of our four year old black lab and 8 month old golden retriever for a few hours while we explored the lake. She not only took good care of our pups but was very helpful in giving us training tips to help with our puppies barking and anxiety. read more

I was visiting Lake Tahoe and could not bring my pups with me on the boat. I researched a local dog day care and this one popped up first. We called to make an appointment and Tondra was so nice and attentive . Upon arriving , she welcomed us and showed us around . This was a plus , as other day cares would not let us even walk into the establishment due to covid . She asked me if I wanted to even see the puppy cams! I love that she was so interested in also learning about the puppies and not to quick to rush us off. She even took them for a hike in south Tahoe! Overall I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a day care. read more

We're so happy we found this place! Our 80-lb pitbull has a history of separation anxiety and doesn't do well with other dogs, so we're always a bit nervous about leaving him a new environment. We felt reassured being able to check in on him at any time through the Wyze video camera app on the our phones. To our amazement, his body language was relaxed, and he didn't whine! I think the large room allowed him to feel less confined, compared to traditional dog daycares, and he was given plenty of walks. When we came to pick him up, rather than rushing to us and pacing stiffly likely he usually does when we leave him alone in a new environment, his body language was relaxed and calm. UNprofessional is how I'd summarize our experience at this dog daycare. I wish I would have looked closer at ALL of the comments instead of just being swayed by the positive ones, that would be my word of advice. More on our experience, if interested: From the moment we arrived to picking up our dog, the owner was on the phone with someone else. We felt like less than customers and that our time was a waste of hers. We were also charged from the time she got off the phone and checked us out as opposed to when we arrived for pick up (an additional 15 mins). When it comes to our experience she will likely post a rebuttal that our dog tried to bite her... I am not hiding the incident that occurred. We were called to pick up our dog early because our dog snarled at her and nipped at her when she tried to remove his leash. The problem I have is the way she explained the situation - she told us that she is a "dog trainer" but doesn't deal with "aggressive dogs" and if he didn't change his behavior he would need to be put down. As a "dog trainer" who doesn't deal with training "aggressive dogs" it is very telling that a dog nipping at her in an uncomfortable environment would lead her to sentence him to being put down..? Yet when she checked out a customer in front of us, she advised their owner that a change in environment can bring out a lot of changes in a dog and to be patient. Major double standard. Not much of a dog "trainer" or dog "mom" if you ask me. I recommend being weary of her caring for your dogs, aside from my dogs behavior, she was unprofessional and made ultimatums that were not necessary. read more

if you want to waste $5,000 worth of resort reservations and have your week of vacation last exactly 13 hours and 42 minutes, by all means, temporarily hire the alleged "professional dog mom'." I dropped off my 83lb German born from Champion Blood lines German Shepherd with this alleged dog trainer. She did oblige by meeting me at 6:05 instead of 4-5pm due to weather. It was a big and nice reception area where my 18 month old (adolescent) K-9 was very curious about the the smells about the room. When I wnt to get his food from the car, he unfortunately marked (went wee wee) a spot in the reception room where the owner kinda went ballistic by shouting several times that she will not tolerate such behavior from an animal. She told me if he does that again she will cage him. At 7:47am the next morning she called me and said I have to pick him up because she claims he pulled her down on a walk in the ice and has diarrhea. When I went to pick him up, I was greeted by her ugly 50lb yellow dog that burst past the kennel dor and lunged at the front door barking, growling, and showing his teeth. After she corralled her dog I was led back to where Crue (after Motley Crue) was. He was inside a 2-1/2' by 4' metal cag without water that he could barely turn around in inside a nice sized 12 x 12 kennel area. She complained about him spilling some dry dog food and that she had to clean up some poo. (I'm sorry, but I have the kind of dog that has too poo.) She continued to complain about other things when I stopped her and said we should not converse as she will definitely not want to her what I wanted to say after destroying my vacation with my kids and my coveted grand child. Her next words were how was I expecting to pay her fee after paying $47 of a $65 per FULL day fee of which we receive about $38 worth by time. Before I got to the first stop light I received a text that she charged the whole day fee to my card after already taking the deposit. So, if you have a small dog that does not poo and likes to be all alone in a metal cage and don't mind being evicted from vacation I'm sure you will be fine. Your dog has to be house trained and cannot have an accident to be accept as a client. If your dog has an accident while in their care you are charged $20.00 per accident. Doesn't sound very dog friendly to me, especially considering they are in a strange environment and some pets are elderly. No Thanks. I am a part time ski instructor in Heavenly and travel from the Bay area almost every weekend. I bring my senior Weim male with me everywhere. We were able to drop him off on Sunday night at 8:00 PM. Duke was never away from my wife so we were worried about the separation anxiety (which I think my wife suffered from more than the dog). After having major back surgery, I was pretty much out of commission for 6 weeks and in desperate need of quality dog care. After searching the internet, I was so very lucky to find Professional Dog Moms! Their "nannies" are prompt, knowledgeable and most of all compassionate! All employees go through comprehensive training and really know what they're doing! I used them to stay overnight when in the hospital and to walk and feed my dog twice a day while I was on the mend. It is truly bittersweet to see the service come to an end as I'm able to take care of my dog on my own. However, this is the ONLY service I will use in the future! We decided to use professional dog mom during our recent trip to Lake Tahoe. We were taking a boat cruise so we needed a day care for our 1 year old pup. This was her first time at a day care. But Tonda made it less stressful as possible for our timid pup, and gave us some tips to prevent jumping. Our pup did good so we ended up taking her the following day for a few hours, and we also did a training with Tonda. There were about 3 other dogs when we were there. She takes them on walks and genuinely considers the needs of each dog. If 2 dogs seem to get along well, she lets them hang out together, if not she keeps them separate we really liked that. We didn't want to put our pup at a place with too many dogs in one place, since she is a little bit timid. Professional dog mom was perfect for us! Definitely recommend her 100% if you are visiting Lake Tahoe and need a day care for your pup. read more

Our timeshare management does not allow pets so we were devastated when we learned unexpectedly that our regular boarder had gone out of business. Luckily, Professional Dog Mom took over the facility where we had been boarding our American Eski, Paloma. We could not have been happier with Tonda and her team. They were every bit as caring as the previous owners and even more accommodating. We had to reschedule our arrival several times due to a family illness and appreciated Tonda's flexibility. With Tonda's 24/7 service, we could "check out" Paloma daily for family time and return her without worrying about making a deadline. Absolutely wonderful doggy daycare for pets you really love and want to make sure are in excellent hands. I was looking around for different dog boarding/daycare centers to leave my 12yr old, separation anxiety ridden pug. I called a couple others before calling Tonda, the utmost Processional Dog Mom I've ever met. One center sent me to voicemail, to which I got a call back way later and told them he's already been taken care of. That place did happen to be my first choice based on the pictures I saw online. The second google search I called answered quickly and didn't exactly state that it was actually a daycare center on the ground floor of the Hard Rock Hotel. I didn't want to leave my dog in one big room with other dogs and no privacy so I told them I would have to look for a more suitable place. It was definitely more expensive than Tonda's service and NOT AT ALL as specialized and caring as Tonda's either based on the description of the hotel's service. My third inquiry was to the actual Dog Mom, and with an assessment over the phone, I was able to drop him off at 6:30am the next morning and picked him up by 9pm which was a little extra for extended daycare time. She kept in touch with me throughout the day thru text and left an update of how my dog was doing upon request thru voicemail. There is access to video footage of the area that your dog will be in and she really BABYSITS as if the pet is an actual child, which (to many pet parents) are considered our actual children. I can't rave more about the level of attention and care Tonda provided for my completely stressed and anxious 12 yr old pup. Anytime I'll be in Tahoe and in need of doggy daycare, I'll be coming back here to support this excellent, independent, and local business. read more
