I had a checkup and 2 fillings done here. I saw two different dentists there, one for my checkup…read moreand one to do the work (cos the one that did the checkup was out of town when I got the fillings done). I really want to give this place a better review, just cos the people there were so friendly and nice. Buut niceness does not a dentist make, so here goes.
Pros: Like I said, they were all very friendly people. They helped me feel at ease (I get nervous seeing dentists). I have to say too, that out of all the dentists I've seen in my lifetime, this is the only time I didn't even feel the anaesthetic needle (which is always one of my most hated parts of the dentist experience). Also, the x-ray equipment there is cool, it was much less painful to have it done than it was at other places; I think it's one of those newer things where it uses less radiation.
Cons: I didn't feel like either dentists did the best job. I think I'll elaborate a bit to give the full story of things...
I was having a lot of pain when I was eating in the upper left part of my mouth, and in the lower right part, I had a tooth that I suspected was slightly chipped. When I got the check-up done, they overbooked appointments that day, and so the lady I saw was really rushed. Like, REALLY rushed. So rushed that she didn't even NOTICE the chipped tooth until I pointed it out to her. And aside from the things I pointed out specifically, she didn't even check my other teeth. I knew she was in a rush, but still, I paid for that checkup and only got like half a checkup. I was going to mention it later, but I was kind of driven to distraction by the prospect of needing a root canal, and still suffering a fair amount from the pain of my left-side teeth, and forgot about it until I went to floss my teeth 3 weeks later and felt a jab of pain. Now I need another checkup done, cos it wasn't done properly the first time.
Also, when I had the fillings done, the dentist himself was pretty good overall, based on my past experiences. However, the guy assisting him was less awesome... he left the sucky tube thing hanging from my lower lip, propped between my lip and gums, while the dentist worked on me; during that time he literally sat there twiddling his thumbs. After a few minutes the dentist told him to move it, but having it there was really, really uncomfortable.
It's been about a month now, and the tooth is bothering me again; it could just be the nature of the problem I had, but at the same time I feel a little less than confident that the dentist did the best job possible- not totally the second dentist's fault personally I guess, but it was more that between that time and the rushed checkup, just the overall service felt rushed and not super professional.
So, 3 stars cos the one dentist seems to have done a reasonably good job on my fillings, the staff were very friendly, the equipment is up-to-date and the pricing is on the cheaper side. I won't give them more though, because of the incomplete job on the checkup, the less than professional dental assistant, and the feeling of not-total-confidence that I had leaving. I guess you could say they were decently good dentists, but I suspect I might find better.
