Productive Asphalt provided me a competitive quote for the big job that I had for them and Mark Harrison seemed like a professional as he visited my property, took extensive look around the property and the area and then provided a quote by email. However, on the day of the job I noticed that he started measuring the entire area again. Note, that the job was already ongoing at this point for about an hour and half. After about another hour he comes to me and tells me that the job area is more than he had initially estimated and he will be spending approximately $3,500 in materials to cover the additional area and I am required to pay him (at least $3,500 for the additional materials) for that in addition to the $30,000 that we agreed on about a week or so ago. I was taken aback by this and as I was not ready to pay this additional amount I politely asked him to hold the job and pack up and leave and I was going to ask another asphalt company to come and do the work. This really made the real "Mark Harrison" come out and he started screaming and yelling that "okay I will complete this job at the agreed price but this is why I ####ing hate NJ people, they have no money, NJ is a s###hole and I will never again take a job in NJ". Note his company is based out of NJ!!!! I was really disappointed by this behavior, but I let him continue the job and finish it and paid him the agreed upon price. Now I am hoping that the job he did will hold up for a few years. So in summary Mark Harrison and Productive Asphalt is a company that leave a bad taste in your mouth and tries to scam you at the 11th hour and tries to hold you hostage!!! If you are strong like me ask him to leave when he tries to scam you he will likely realize that his scam is not working and he will complete the job for you so please do not give into his blackmailing nature and save yourself a headache! Do not hire them as there are many good options in our state of New jersey!!! read more
